Swordtember Day 25: Apathy, Mirror, Pocket Sized Sidekick

The original prompt here was dog, but I... Have bad memories about that term, so I discussed it with @XenoSaiyan and did some prompt generating. I found the prompts above interesting, and also I took my time plotting out the visuals of the weapon. Hope you all like it!

Honestly,  I have no clue what possessed me to make this one. Creativity had just struck when I found a pocket mirror in a fundraiser event. I never prided myself in being instinctual, however, I decided to try with this one. Maybe it wouldn't turn out like a disaster.

Well! It didn't, thankfully. In fact, I realised that it could speak too. It didn't seem to care about names, but did seem interested when I called it Mirapathos for the first time. It was the type to not care about anything around it, and yet when the time called for it, it could be so loyal it was a fatal flaw.

I still remember when its weapon form came out. Mirapathos had shielded me from a fatal attack, and I had been panicking, but at the last moment I flipped it open to find the damaged parts when it suddenly morphed into a shield.

And what it said to me I didn't, couldn't forget.

"You made me, this is nothing, you idiot."

Perhaps it was my own apathy that seeped into this new weapon of mine. However, when Mirapathos eventually found its perfect match in a cat-dog named Bellamy, I couldn't help but shed a tear as I bid this companion goodbye. I would miss having it ride on my head. I would miss it snarking at me all day long.

But this was what Mirapathos needed, and I would be damned if I let myself get in the way of that. I prided myself in pairing up a sword and its master as much as I could, and I would exchange heavy goodbyes with my friends if it meant that they could reach their full potential. Last I heard, Bellamy had unlocked a sword-shield form for Mirapathos.

I couldn't be any prouder.
