Outer's pov

There was an uncomfortable silence, and I could feel Error's gaze burning through my spine and into my SOUL. I decided to break the silence.

"So Error, you like stars huh?"

"yEp. I'm hAPpY I gEt tO sTargAzE iN pEaCe nOw wIthoUt bEiNg aTtAckEd."

Ow. That one hit hard. But, it's true. Whenever Error was in my AU, I would always chase him out. Memories flood through my mind.

Outer's memory of Error #1

Ink warned me about Error. He said that Error is a merciless destroyer that only destroys for his own entertainment. He said that Error doesn't care about anyone but himself, and if I'm not careful he will kill me with those deathly strings of his. I can see a glitchy skeleton sitting on the cliffs edge, staring into the starry sky. That must be him. I will protect my AU. This is my home. I should at least try and distract or chase him off. If I distract him, then maybe Ink will come and fight him off. If I chase him off, then my AU is safe for the time being. I fire a Gaster Blaster at him, but he quickly jumped out of the way and spun around in mid-air.

"oH. AaAAaAnd mY fUn iS rUinEd lIkE aLwAys."

"Leave my AU alone you murderer!"

"pFFT- hAhAHAHahaHaHa- sErIoUsLy? I wAs lEgIt jUsT sTaRgAzIng AnD nOt cAuSiNg aNy tRoublE WHAtSoEvEr aNd tHis hApPenS. CaN yOu lIke, lEaVe mE aLonE?"

"No! I won't let you destroy my home!"

I summon bones beneath him and he jumps in the air and I launch a bone towards his chest while he's vulnerable in the air. He moves out of the way but it scratches his arm.

"oW-! wHo tHE HelL sAiD I cAmE hErE tO dEstRoY?! WoUlD iF I jUsT wAnT tO sTaRgAzE iN pEaCe?!"

"Lies! You kill innocent people in innocent AU's! There's no way someone like you can POSSIBLY be innocent! You're planning to destroy everyone and everything here aren't you?!"

I shoot more bones in his direction, of which he perfectly dodges.

"plEaSe jUsT sTop. I jUsT wAnT tO tAkE a bReaK anD sPenD tIme sOmEwhErE eLsE oThEr tHaN tHe aNtI-vOid."

I ignore him and continue attacking. I manage to scar his cheek, legs and index finger. Wait. Why hasn't he used his strings yet?

"You don't deserve a break for what you've done! You disgusting glitch!"

I fire 10 Gaster Blasters at him at once. I shield my eyes from the light. When it clears up, I don't see him. Suddenly, I feel a presence behind me.

"dO yOu rEaLly bElIevE eVeRytHinG yOu hEar? YOu'lL rEgrEt iT sOmedAy."

Then he disappears. I collapse onto my knees and take deep breaths. He could've killed me... I need to tell Ink ASAP.

Later~

"Hi Outer! So what did you need to tell me?"

"...I met Error."

Ink gasps.

"Stars- are you okay?! Did he hurt you?! Is everyone okay?!"

Ink seems quite concerned.

"I'm fine Ink. And everyone is okay. He didn't even attack me..."

Ink seems to think for a moment. I think he's SPACING OUT. Ha that one was good. He snaps out of it- or should I say- comes back down to Earth?

"...huh. He's normally very psychotic and violent."

Hmm... the Error I met seemed tired. I should ask Ink about that.

"Why did he seem so... tired?"

"... I don't know. Maybe he met Fresh. If so, I hope Fresh annoyed the heck out of him. Error doesn't deserve to feel anything positive for destroying my creations and taking innocent lives. Well, except for Chara. I can live with him killing Chara."

"You said that Error is completely insane... do you know why?"

"Well, I guess that when you destroy things and kill thousands of lives, that can make someone deranged. Not to mention the anti-void. He lives in white nothingness."

"That makes sense. I almost feel sorry for the kid."

"Heh, you really shouldn't. Murderers don't deserve mercy."

"After seeing so many genocide routes... I can agree with that one."

A cold and bitter feeling takes over my SOUL. Ink's right. Error deserves NO MERCY.

Still Outer's pov

"Yeah... sorry for attacking you the first time we met. It's because I blindly believed everything Ink said."

"... iT'S nOt yOur fAuLt. WeLl kInd oF. ThAnKs tHouGh."

I look at Error in disbelief. Did he really just... wow. I wasn't expecting that to make me so happy. Error continues to stare at the sky. I smile to myself and look into the sky. I feel guilty all of a sudden. What I said was kind of mean. It's not really Ink's fault. I think he said something about Fate not whispering loud enough. I break the silence.

"Sorry Ink. I forgot about Fate."

"It's okay... it is because of the stupid things I said about Error that made everyone hostile towards him."

Ink looked quite sad. Before I could do anything though, Error looked Ink dead in the eye.

"iNk. I sTilL dOn'T fUlLY tRusT yOu, bUt foR thE kIndnEsS yOu hAvE sHoweD mE sO fAr I aM hApPy fOr. SurE yoU aRe a jErK, bUt dOn'T cOmplEtEly bLamE yOursElf. FaTe iS thE bItch whO cAusEd aLl oF tHiS."

"Yeah! Ink, you're my best friend! When I felt alone and scared when Nightmare ate the apples, you were there for me! And you were only trying to keep everyone safe! Not to mention, you apologizing to Error is quite noble of you. I'm proud!"

"You have done some bad, but you've done good too. And you're fixing all the bad things you've done. So you're already beginning to dominate the bad with the good. And whoever this Fate is, I want to punch her."

I say. Ink smiles at us.

"T...thanks guys!"

"No prob kid."

I tease at Ink. I have another question for Error.

"Hey Error, if ya don't mind me asking, did you really even like the anti-void?"

"... yEs aNd nO."

"Huh. What did you like and hate about it?"

"I lIkEd iT bEcAusE iT gAvE mE somEwhEre tO sTaY, anD iT'S vEry SpAciOus. HoWevEr, I hAtE iT bEcAusE oF tHe cOnsTanT vOicEs yElLinG aT mE, thE lOnlInEsS, aNd tHe cOnsIsTeNt wHiTe. iF I sCreaMed In pAin oR cAlLeD fOr hElp, thErE wAs nObOdY tO lIstEn. NobODy eVEr caMe. nObOdY cARed."

This caused a pang of guilt and sadness to erupt in my SOUL. I can feel another memory coming.

Outer's memory of Error #2

It was a beautiful day in my AU. I held some ketchup in my hand and I sat on a cliff, stargazing and drinking my ketchup. A light breeze brushes against my skull. It feels nice and refreshing. Nothing can ruin this day.

*Pop*

A portal opens behind me and I turn around to see who it is. Oh no.

"Error-!"

"hEh, tHe oNe aNd oNlY~!"

"Are you here to destroy this AU?! Listen here pal, take one more step forward and you're REALLY not gonna like what comes next...!"

Error begins to go into a fit of maniacal laughter. It sends chills down my spine.

"hAhA... tHeY aLl sAy tHe sAmE tHinG. OvEr aNd OvEr aNd oVeR aNd OvEr aGaiN. LiStEn hEre. sTay oUt of mY wAy, aNd mAybE yOu wOn'T gEt hUrt. YOu cAughT mE In a rEaAaAlLy bAd mOOd."

I'm filled with fear. I can't move. I'm frozen on the spot. Am I going to die? No. I won't let it happen.

"Get out of my AU. I don't feel like any death today."

"wELl I dOn'T fEel lIkE leAvIng. tHis Is tHe onLy bIt oF sPaRe tImE I hAvE rIght nOw. nOw lEaVe mE aLonE beForE yOu sErioUslY rEgrEt yOur aCtiOns."

I fire a Gaster Blaster at him.

"*sigh* I'Ll tAkE tHaT aS a nO."

He jumps out of the way and I shoot bones at him. He dodges again. Then his strings wrap around my SOUL and I am hoisted into the air.

"Agh-!"

"I tOld yOu tHat yOu wOulDn'T lIke wHaT cAmE nExT-"

WHAM!

Ink came out of nowhere and smacked Error across the face really hard and he goes flying.

"Outer! Are you okay?!"

Ink worriedly says.

"Yeah, I'm okay..."

"uGh- wHaT tHe hElL?!"

I watch as Error stands up and rubs the spot where Ink hit him. Ink stands into a fighting position.

"Error! I won't let you destroy Outertale! These innocent people deserve to live! Something that you will NEVER deserve!"

"pFfT- AhahAHaHAhAhAHAhAhAhaHa- oH wOw tHat's tOo fUnNy!"

Ink looks kind of disturbed. I shudder again. Why is Error so damn scary? Oh yeah. Because he's a psychotic murderer.

"Stop laughing and leave before I make you!"

Ink shouted at Error. Error sighed.

"I cAmE hEre tO stArgAzE aNd tHis hApPenS."

"Lies! You came here to cause trouble!"

Ink whips out his iconic paintbrush. Error goes into a fighting stance. Ink lunges at Error with his paintbrush and Error side-steps out of the way, and Ink slides around Error and side-kicks him in the side.

"aGh-"

Error spins around and backflips into the air, saving him from Ink trying to punch him. Ink takes advantage of Error trying to properly land and rushes forward and hits him with his brush, steaming hot red paint splashing over Error. Error screams out in pain. Ink then whams the paintbrush into Error's temple and Error crumples to the ground. Ink glared down at the destroyer who laid helplessly on his side, clutching his head.

"I'm disappointed in you Error. You deserve nothing but pain."

Ink's voice was cold and empty. Error was glitching out pretty badly. I almost feel bad for him. Not quite though. I hate murderers. Ink summoned a sharpened bone and stabbed the destroyer in the leg. He let out a glitched cry. Then Error summoned a portal beneath himself and disappeared. The strings that held me up were gone, and I landed painfully on my tailbone.

"Outer are you alright?"

"Nnhgh... I'm fine..."

I slowly stood up. Wow, Ink can sure be merciless when it comes to Error. It doesn't matter though. Error has caused pain to millions. He doesn't deserve mercy.

Still Outer's pov

That was one of the most brutal memories of Error I have. I was such an idiot. Error didn't deserve ANY of the pain and suffering he received. I wish I could take everything back, but you can only move forward in life, not backwards. I still don't entirely forgive Ink or myself. Maybe one day I will though. I look at Ink, Error and Dream. Ink and Error's shoulders are almost touching, Dream is staring- or rather- SPACED OUT into the night sky. Ink looks really happy. Dream looks content. Error looks slightly on edge but after how I treated him it makes sense.

"Hey look, a shooting star! Make a wish!"

I wish that... everything will get better from here-on out.
