Arrival
"Isn't this beautiful, my love?"
"Yes, it is. But it would be more peaceful with you not around."
"You'll pay for saying that!" A man got up and frowned at the girl next to him, "How dare you say that to me?"
"Am I not allowed some peace and quiet, Gerald?" She opened her blue eyes, just a crack, to see that guy's reaction.
He sighed, "Fine, Shannon. But mark my words, I'll be back." He stormed off, kicking the sand in the girl's face.
She closed her eyes once more and smiled quietly to herself, "Finally, a break!" She took a deep breath of the air and fell asleep, the sun being her blanket.
When she awoke, the sunset was a radiant bright gold and the waves were lapping up on the shoreline. Shannon looked around her and stretched. She turned to the side of her, to see if her significant other, Gerald, was next to her. She was scared that Gerald had done something else to her, scared for her life, but he wasn't around.
Hmm. That's strange. Gerald never left Shannon alone because he was super clingy. Sure, they had been together for a few months, but Shannon wanted out and she couldn't escape. Gerald had isolated her from her dreams, her family, and her guild mates, so she literally had no one else to rely on. He was mentally wearing her down by making derogatory comments at what she did and was always touching her when and where she didn't want to be touched. She lived in fear of someone that she loved.
They went to the beach as a part of a 'vacation.' This was more like hell to Shannon because she had to share a room with Gerald and deal with him every second of the day. The best part was that he had to choose her clothes out. She sat up and noticed that this beach was not like the one she was on in Fiore: this one was quiet and peaceful. She stood up, rubbed her eyes, and smiled-she was in heaven.
Until she got hit with a ball to the head. She fell back onto the ground and saw stars from the impact. This was nothing new to her because she was used to Gerald and his methods of persuasion. She saw shadows coming towards her and her mind started to panic until she heard someone say, "Here! I'll heal her!"
Shannon's mind got the best of her as she yelled out, "No! Please don't hurt me!" But nothing happened to her other than the sensation of the nasty knot on her head going down. She felt calmer and she looked at the guy who had rushed over to help, "Thank you so much for healing me."
The guy smiled back at her, "No problem. I'm so sorry that Jecht did that, he was messing around with his shot. I'm Braska."
Shannon smiled up at him, "Don't worry about it too much! I'm Shannon." She stood up, wanting to shake Braska's hand, but she still felt dizzy. She started to sway a little bit and almost fell again, but another man wearing a scarlet coat and had a funny ponytail caught her right arm.
His grip reminded her of Gerald, so she got up and looked at him, malice in her eyes until she noticed...that wasn't Gerald. She smiled at the stranger and said, "I'm sorry for that mean look, but you reminded me of someone I didn't like. Thank you for catching me."
The man looked at her, "No problem. Who is this person? Should I go after them?"
"Nope because I finally am freed from his grip." Shannon took a deep breath in and could finally taste the air freely for once without it being clouded with fear. The burden that was on her shoulders finally seemed to be lifted off and cast into the ocean. She looked out towards the ocean, tears in her eyes. She was in this strange land, but yet, this was heaven still for her.
She turned back towards the three men that found her and said, "So...what is this place called?"
The three men looked at her in shock, and Shannon felt like Gerald was making fun of her in her head, "I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot, but I kind of forgot some stuff."
Braska gasped, "We need you to get to the temple fast! You still might be hurt!"
"I'm fine, I just do not know where I am. The last thing I remember was that I was on a vacation and I fell asleep on the beach. My boyfriend, Gerald was nearby as well. I have been trying to escape from him because he was...." Shannon trailed off, Could I really trust these strangers? "Clingy!" Shannon smiled as she covered her blunder, "Next thing I knew, I was here."
"You poor thing. Come, let's go to the temple." The three men started to walk away, so Shannon followed. She looked around and smiled at the peace and quiet of the island.
Unfortunately, her lack of attention caused her to bump into the red-coat man, who pulled out a sword and who had stopped suddenly. She yelled out, "Would you watch when you stop!?!"
The man sighed, "Be glad I did, or else you would have to face these things." He stepped aside and Shannon saw monsters that reminded her of a mutated werewolf that wasn't quite able to turn back.
Shannon smirked, "I've been itching for something to fight." She jumped in front of the three men and took a deep breath of air, feeling it fill up her body with pure power. She had not felt this power in a long time as she yelled out, "SKY DRAGON....ROAR!!!!" Suddenly, the air that she had just breathed in came out, as if she was a dragon roaring back at these creatures. The creatures got blown away from her attack and as they did, they faded into little balls of light.
Shannon jumped up and down, "Alright! I still have my magic here! Being a wizard rules!" She turned and saw the red-coat guy, Braska, and Jecht, looking at her in shock. She looked at them, confused, "Please tell me you have heard of Sky Dragon Slayer Magic before."
Jecht nodded his head at her, "No, I haven't heard of that. Braska, Auron, have you heard of this Sky Dragon Witchcraft?"
Braska frowned, "No. That magic doesn't exist in Spira. Magic here is usually cast through an object, and it isn't as powerful as that."
Shannon smiled, "Oh! Objects can be used for magic as well! Gerald actually is a Celestial Spirit Wizard, so he uses keys to summon spirits! He would say phrases like this: OPEN GATE OF THE GOLDEN BULL: TAURUS!!!"
A blue portal started to form in front of Shannon and she gasped, "I can't be summoning Taurus, I don't have any keys!"
A strong biped cow appeared as the light faded, "Good day Miss Shannon, such a fine day, is it not?"
"How did I summon you exactly?"
Taurus smiled at her, "Gerald mistreats us spirits and you were the only one that showed us any kindness. So, we shall respond to you as well. Oh, here's one more thing-" Taurus bent down to Shannon's level and opened his hand, which held a key ring with a lot of golden keys on it, along with a few silver, "Now you are our true master. Good luck." Taurus then faded into thin air, except that he did not fade away like the werewolves did.
Shannon gasped, "No way...I'm a Celestial Spirit Wizard and a Sky Dragon Slayer now?"
Braska smiled as he walked up to Shannon, "Yevon will love our team even more now- not. How about this: You travel with us and we'll eventually get you home! Does that sound good?"
"Of course!"
Braska smiled at the three of them, "A warrior monk, a man from Zanarkand, a fallen summoner, and now we have the all-powerful wizard. Sounds like a good team now, right? Let's get started."
A/N:
I'm back, with a much different story! Please leave any feedback about this story and I will take it into consideration as I write future chapters! I apologize for the harsh rating (AKA: Mature) but this is a precaution for me, so then others don't get hurt. If you are not old enough to watch Fairy Tail or play Final Fantasy X, please read this story with caution. Also, if you are a victim of abuse, do not read this story as well. I just really needed a bad guy here, okay?
For now, enjoy!
~Shannon
