"Hell yeah" Kie agrees "what was your thought process, using your head?" Jay adds "I don't know man, I just kind of acted off instinct, I was cornered animal" Pope replies

"Nah, but when Kie fired the screen, that was awesome! It just all blew out, that was some crazy shit right there" I says making Kie laughs

"Hey Pope. Someone wants to see you" Heyward says before shoupe enters the store "Evening officer" Pope says

"I have an arrest warrant for felony destruction of property" Shoupe says "what?" Heyward questions. I notice Pope and Jay are looking at each others

"Hands where I can see them" shoupe says "what'd he do?" Heyward asks "look at the warrant" Shoupe answers while he handcuff Pope "sorry, are you arresting him?" Kie says

"You're arresting my boy?" Heyward says "you can't do that!" I snaps "be carful!" Kie shouts at Shoupe, referring to the aggressive grips Shoud has on Pope "Shoupe, are you listening?" Heyward says

"How much did they pay you, man" Jay says before Shoupe walks out of the store with Pope as we were all following them

Shoupe was about to get Pope inside the car until Jays voice appears stopping him "It wasn't him!" He says making all of us look at him

"it was me" he adds, taking a break before he continues "He tried to talk me out of it, but I was mad because he just been beaten up. I was so sick of those assholes from Figure Eight that I lost my shit. I can't let you take the blame for something I did. You've got too much to lose"

"JJ, what are you doing?" Pope asks "I am telling the truth, for once in my goddamn life, I'm gonna tell the truth. I took his old man's boat too" he says

"What the hell?" Heyward says "Jay" I says making him looks at me for a second, he clenched his jaw before he looks back at Shoupe "he's a good kid, you know where I come from"

"Yeah" Shoupe says "this was all me" Jay adds "that's all the truth?" Shoupe asks as he looks at Pope "whole truth, I swear to god" Jay answers instead of Pope

"I know what you think, damn it. I am asking Pope" Shoupe says "yeah that covers it" Pope says as me and Jay shares a last look before Shoupe takes Jay

I think this is something about why Rafe, Kelce and Topper jumped Jay and Pope. I just guessed it was another stupid Kooks vs Pogues stupid fight and it was not a big deal. I didn't thought Jay or pope got themselves into troubles.

But it feels like Jay was defending Pope, the way they looked at each other, Popes facial expression, something felt off

I know Pope is a genuinely good kid, but I also know what Rafe is capable of. He knows how to make people lose their shit. He knows what bottoms to push to get what he wants. It's just who he is, he would do anything to get what he wants.

I also know Jay is a good friend, you can say a lot of things about him but if you really know him you find out that he has the most beautiful soul and the kindest heart. I wouldn't be surprised if he is taking the fault for his friend even if it means that he'd get arrested.

When I gets back to my house and walked to my room I saw Rafe in there, sitting on my bed "Haley" he stands up "how did you got in?" I asks "your mom let me in" he answers

"I just want to talk" he adds "If you'd touch me, Rafe, I swear to god-" I says "Haley I don't want to hurt you" he cuts me off, he was calm this time, his eyes weren't red and he was standing steady so I think he wasn't under drugs. 

"It's too late for that" I says "please just hear me out and I'll leave" he begs. In any other time I would reject conversations with Rafe without hesitation, but it was a good time to talk with him with sense, without him being under drugs. Doesn't mean I am planning on forgiving him.

"Make it quick" I says. He was waking closer to me but I took a steps back, he sighs

"Look, Haley. I know I fucked up, okay? But you can't possibly choose this Pogues over me" he says "are you kidding me?" I asks with disbelief

"We can still go back to the way it was" he says "you know" I starts "I used to think you're like me, that you're attracted to the darkness. but Rafe, you are the darkness"

"No, I am better now I swear. I changed, for you" he says "you've hurt me Rafe" I says "Haley I am sorry, I really am" he says "I don't forgive you, I won't forgive you, not this time. You have to pay for what you did" I says

"All the pain you caused, all the sorrow. I can't be with you" I adds "Haley don't do this. I love you" he says "if you love someone you should never hurt them, never" I says, quoting Jay

His eyes started to fill with tears, but I don't feel bad for him anymore, not after what he have done to me and to my friends. "I know I messed up showing you this but Haley, I love you" he says

"not the way I deserve to be loved" I says "I've made mistakes just give me another chance" he says before I chuckle "I gave you more chances then you deserve and you let me down every time!" I says

"Okay, but if you just-" he says "I don't love you anymore, Rafe" I says "it's because of you, I knew you shouldn't have hang with the Pogues" he says

"Stop blaming me for your mistakes! What happened between us is not on me. I forgave you when you choked me, so us braking up is not my fault!" I says

"Everything that has gone wrong is because of you. You started to hit me, you fought my friends!" I snaps

"Me? Your friend sank Topper's boat, I was trying to help my friend as well, I was doing the exact thing you were doing" he says

"You shoved me and then chocked me!" I says "I didn't mean to-" he says "I don't give a shit" I shakes my head

"We are over Rafe" I adds "you don't mean that" he says "Oh believe me, I do. we are not good for each other anymore" I adds as I feel my eyes fills with tears "Haley I love you, don't do this to me" he says

"You should go Rafe" I says with tears, he shakes his head again "No- Haley you don't mean that" he says "go away Rafe" I says again

"You're all I want! You're all have!" He shouts with sobs "Go away!" I shouts before he finally leaves

This was a horrible way to break up with him. after he left I was still standing in my room in the same spot, crying.

I would lie if I said I don't feel a bit relieved but I did loved him. I don't think we were ever right for each other but it still hurts.

I don't even know if he ever loved me, sometime it felt like he's with me to show me off to his friends like I am some object

Or maybe it was to satisfy his dad, both of our dads loved that relationship and encouraged it. To be honest I am a bit scared to tell my dad I broke up with him. My mom has been supportive and basically the best but my dad isn't like her.

But at the begging it used to feel real, he used to make me feel special. Only after I broke up with him I realised I don't miss him, I miss that feeling and the memories, but not him.

"Hey baby" my mom says entering the room and I quickly wipe my tears "hey" I says with a small smile "I saw Rafe storming out, what happened?" she says as we both sits on my bed

"I broke up with him" I says "oh" she says "well screw him" she adds making me laugh "how do you feel?" She asks "I don't know, I should be relived but I don't know how to feel" I says

"That's okay. Do you think it was the right thing to do?" she asks "yeah" I confidently answers "then that's good" she says "dad would be mad?" I asks, she sigh

"Probably, but let me handle him" she says and I nod "when will he be back?" I asks "he should be here in a few hours" she says before we hears knocks on the door

"I'll go get it" my mom says before she walked downstairs "Haley, it's for you" she says after a few seconds and I walk downstairs

"Jay!" I says as I ran to hug him "hi" he quietly says "Jesus what happened to your face?" I asks as I faces him, seeing fresh bruises on his face "It's nothing, we need to go to the chateau now" he says "why? What's wrong?" I asks "I'll explain everything later" he says

"Mom I am leaving" I says "okay, but be back soon enough to get ready for midsummers" she says "okay bye!" I says as Jay takes my hand and we starts running, I still didn't understood why was the hurry "Okay what the hell is going on?" I asks as we're on our way to the chateau "I'll explain everything when John B will be here" he says

"Okay let's just wait for him here" he says as we sits on the ground on the back of the chateau with a few bushes hiding us making me more confused "yeah behind all the bushes, that's not creepy" I says

"See that car?" He points with his finger "yeah?" I asks "I saw the same car at the same spot in the morning" he says "why would someone stalk John B?" I asks "I don't know" he answers

"Okay, now can you tell me what happened to your face?" I asks as we were waiting for John B "It's nothing" he says

"Look, you helped me with Rafe and I want to help you with whatever that is. I know for sure it wasn't from Rafe because you didn't had those morning" I says and he sigh

"I own restitution money for the boat and my dad didn't liked that" he says with a shrug "wait, did he-" I says before he interrupts "yeah, it's not a big deal" he says

"I am sorry" I says "don't feel pity for me I am fine" he says "I am not I am just worried about you. I can help with the money, we'll figure something out I promise and- and you can sleep at mine whenever you want" I says

"I don't need your family money and I don't need your help" he says "you took the fault for Pope didn't you?" I asks "what does it have to do with anything?" He asks

"Because you help your friends every single time without hesitation, just let me help you too. I know you can take care of yourself but I am here for you too" I explains "Haley" he says with a sigh "I care about you" I says and he looks at me for a few seconds before we hears footsteps

We sees John B walking towards us, Jay puts his hand on John Bs mouth which scared him leading him to start fighting Jay "it's me, JJ. Stop, stop, stop, stop" Jay whispers "JJ?" He question "yeah I am here too" I speaks "what are you doing here?" John B asks confused "no clue, honestly" I says

"Shut up" Jay says as he put his hand on John Bs mouth again to shut him up as he points on an unmarked van parked near by facing the chateau "see that? They're watching us" Jay whispers

"Who?" John B asks "I don't know, let's go" he says before we were sneaking around the dock "wait, wait, wait, wait. You got the keys to the Pogue?" Jay asks as we goes through the marsh "yeah" John B answers

we walks into the Kano with our backpacks on our head. We climbs into the HMS Pogue and we sails away

We stops as we gets far enough from the chateau and parks the HMS pogue."First I almost get strangled to death by the Kooks and now I am on the hock for 30 grand, we should just dip" Jay speaks

"okay where do you wanna go? Hm?" John B asks "Yucatan" Jay answers "Yucatan" John B repeat with a sarcastic chuckle "no I am dead serious right now" Jay says

"Surf all day, and then we can just live off lobsters we catch with our bare hands" Jay says "that doesn't sound that bad" I shrugs "Haley, don't encourage him" John B says

"You just wanna live 'cause you got your ass beat?" John B looks at Jay

"You didn't see the photos" Jay says "think about it, they're willing to kill for the gold, then it's gotte be out there" John B says

"I am not willing to kill the gold, I don't want to die because of your delusional ass" I says "well no one ask you to join, you can just leave seriously" He says "dude" Jay says glaring at him "you and Jay literally begged me to join because I was there when those two guys almost killed me and my aunt" I says

"Well we don't need you anymore" John B says "oh so you were just using me to get information and now you just simply don't need me? I risked my life for this!" I says

"We all have! You don't even need the money like we do, you are rich as fuck anyways" John B says "fuck off" I says "guys!" Jay snaps

"One hundred years man. One hundred years people have been trying to find this Royal Merchant, and no one succeeded and you think you are gonna be the one that actually finds it? When will you get it in your stick skull? If you keep going down this road, you're gonna end up just like you dad!" He adds

"I can't give up JJ! the last time I saw that dude, we got into an argument and then he took all of our rent money and dipped for this Royal Merchant. And then I told him he was a shitty father, and you know how the rest of the story goes" John B says

"Bro that wasn't your fault" Jay says "it doesn't matter whose fault it is JJ! Do you not understand that? I can't give up on the hunt, man" John B says

"I don't care who's out there, who's gonna try to kill us" he says looking at me "look I've got a plan, you coming or what?" He says moving his gaze to Jay

"Haley you can go back to your kook ass life, I don't care" John B says "go fuck yourself man" I says as I walk away "Hales come on" I hears Jays voice, I looks back "I am sorry Jay" I says before I keeps walking away

I didn't expect from John B to be like that, I thought we were actually getting closer and he disappointed me

Maybe I shouldn't have snapped at him, maybe I said somethings that pissed him off but he was overreacting and he actually hurt me. I won't be in a place where people don't want me in.

I comes back home seeing my dad is there, as I enter the house I hears him arguing with my mom "what's wrong?" I asks as I enters the living room

"Your mom told me you  have broken up with Rafe" he says "uh, yeah... a few hours ago" I says. It sucks that I haven't seen him in weeks and the first think he cares about is that I broke up with Rafe.

"Why?" he asks "we've been arguing a lot and I wasn't happy in this relationship" I says "so you throw it away?" My dad says "What do you expect me to do? To be with him because you want me to?" I asks

"you are just being childish, I expected more from you than that. Look, he comes from a good family and it's not too late to get back to him" he says

"I would never get back to him, I was miserable with him!" I says "you are just being selfish" my dads says "hey don't call her that!" My mom speaks

"you don't get to call me selfish you have been selfish all your life, you don't give a shit about me" I snaps "Hey you don't get to talk to me like that" he says

"this is ridicules" I says "do you even realise what you've done? You ruined all of our reputation which we've worked hard for" he says

"Sorry for ruining your reputation" I sarcastically says rolling my eyes "see? That attitude! Who would've want to handle that? You had a good chance with Rafe and you just threw it away" he says

"You can't tell her what to do or with who she can be with!" My mom snaps "oh my god now I see where she is coming from, have you put those bullshit in her head?" My dad says looking at my mom

"No! I just don't want to be with him" I says "you are so dramatic, just like your mother. Why can't you just be more wise and care about other things then yourself all the time" he says

"For fuck sakes. For once I wish you could see me for who I am and not who you want me to be!" I says with watery eyes

"I am just trying to protect you Haley" he says "I don't want you protection, I want your support" I says and he goes quite "I need to go get ready for midsummer" I walks away to my room
