Haley's POV

"Haley" I hear the familiar voice "hi, Kie" I turns around and face her "what are you doing here?" She asks

"Came with those two morons" I points with my head on the Pogue's boat, with Jay and John B inside

"What are they doing?" She chuckles "yeah, so... Big John got kidnapped to South America" I says "what?" She asks in panic

"John B and Jay are going to find a way to get him" I says "wait, what about you?" She asks "I am done" I says

"What do you mean, you're done?" She asks "I am done Kie. Done" I says "can you fill me in a little bit? I obviously missed a few things" she says

"They doesn't want me in the treasure haunt" I says "you're full of shit" she says "it's true" I says "tell me what happened" she walks me to a table and we sits down

"Me and JJ has a fight. It got pretty bad and I said some fucked up shit, but he doesn't want me in" I says

"Did he say that?" She asks "no, but he said I'd be better off staying out of it, that I am stress since I am in or whatever" I rolls my eyes

"He's worried about you, Hales" she says "it doesn't matter, I am out anyways. My mom want me out, Jay and John B wants me out" I says

"John B and JJ doesn't want you out, they're just worried" she says "it doesn't matter, okay? Everyone wants me out" I says

"Would you stop thinking about what everyone wants? Stop thinking about what they want, when he wants, what your mom wants. What do you want?" She asks

"I was stressed about it, but... I don't know I got excited about it" I says "okay" she says "but it doesn't matter, I said some fucked up and shit and now Jay hates me" I sighs

"It's not true, come on. The boy can't hate you. No matter what you're gonna do" she says "he does, Kie" I says

"Can I asks you something?" She questions "mhm" I nods "what did you fought about?" She asks

"I don't even know, girl" I laughs it off "come on, Hales" she laughs as well "nah, we started talking about how the treasure haunt effects me and we somehow got into how I started doing drugs" I covers my face with my hand as I continued laughing

"Oh, my god" she says "I don't even know how it got that bad!" I tries to defence myself "it sounds fixable" she says

"I said so many wrong things" my laugh fades away "it's still fixable" she says

"I think I freaked him out" I says "he freaks out easily, but he loves you" she says "oh, god. I am crazy" I says

"You're not crazy" she says "I am crazy, and I am driving him crazy" she says "you freaked out, it's okay. Everyone made you so worried about getting back on the treasure haunt that you freaked out, it's okay. JJ will understand" she assures me

"You sure?" I asks "yeah" she nods "we got bigger things to worry about" she says as Sarah walks towards us "Haley, what are you doing here?" She asks as she holds a drink in her hand

"Yeah, okay, that's enough for you" I takes the drink from her hand as she sits down "hey!" She wines "what's up with her?" I asks

"John B broke up with me" she says "what?" I asks "yeah" she says "why? We came here to get ya'll" I says "she slept with Tooper" Kie says making me laugh

"Good one, Kie. But not the time" my laugh fades away before I looks at Sarah with a serious face "no..." I says

"Yeah" Sarah takes her drink form my hand and drink all of it "Sarah..." I says "I know, okay?" She says

"Kiara?" Mike walks towards our table "what?" Kie asks "can you come help me in something?" He says as he eyes me

"We're busy" Kie says "Kiara" he says, she sighs before she leaves the table and they both talks in some corner

"I think it's my q to leave" I says as I watches Kie argues with her dad "what?" Sarah asks "I think Mike hasn't changed his opinion about me" I shrugs

"Asshole" Sarah takes another sip "hey, let's chill with that" I points in her drink "whatever" she rolls her eyes as Kie walks towards us, I stands up

"Time for me to leave, isn't it?" I says "I am sorry..." she says "it's okay, keep an eye on Sarah and don't let her have any more drink, will ya?" I says

"Yeah, of course. I got her from here" she gives me a smile, I pulls her into a hug "it'll be alright" she says, I nods before I walks away

"Haley, is it you?" I hear my mom asks as I shut the door when I enters my house "mhm" I says "what happened?" She asks

"You got what you wanted, I am out of the treasure, all right?" I walks to my room, but she stop me "what happened?" She asks again

"I've had some fight with JJ" I says "come on, you two had some fights. You'll get over this one" she says

"I was a shitty friend, ma" I says with tears "it's okay, babe" she pulls me into a hug "I blamed him for everything" I says

"You had a little breakdown, it's okay" she says "it wasn't just a little one" I says "it's okay" she repeats

"I am scared of losing him" I says "hey, you're not gonna lose him. He loves you more than he loves himself. I've never seen a boy been crazy over someone like he's crazy about you" she says

"I don't think that's true anymore. I believe it was, but I think I finally drove him away" I pulls out of the hug

"I don't blame him, all he was trying to do since he met was trying to take care of me, but I don't deserve that. I don't deserve him" I says

"Don't say that" she shakes her head "I am sure you two will sort it out" she says "just forget about it, I want to go to sleep" I tells her

"Haley..." she says as I walks away "where are you going?" She stops me "I am going out for a walk, okay? It helps me with my anxiety" I says

"Since when did you startgoing out for walks?" She questions "John offered me that" I lies, she glazed at me for a few moments

"Mom" I says "fine, go. But don't come back too late" she says "yeah, fine" I walks away

"I hate to hear your voice, H" I hear Kyle's voice from the other side of his door "come on, man. Just let me in, I don't want anything" I says before he opens the door

"What are you doing here, kid?" He asks "kid? Who do you think you are? We're literally in the same age" I lays on his couch

"Answer my question" he sits down next to me "what? Can't an old friend pay a little visit? Say hi?" I asks

"Not if I used to be your drug dealer and I haven't heard from you in months" he says "you don't like seeing me?" I asks, acts offended

"Nah, I like you, H. I told you I won't give you nothing" he says "it's just weed, man" I sits up "Haley" he looks at me with a serious look

"How much damage could weed do?" I asks "what about your boyfriend, JJ?" He asks "shut up" I says

"No, think about him" he says "shut up!" I stands up and walks towards the room he stash his stuff in "Haley!" He grabs my hand and stops me

"What happened?" He asks "it's none of your fucking business!" I get out of his grip and continues walking

"I told you I am not gonna give you nothing!" He blocks my way "Kyle, gets the fuck out of my way" I says

"Haley" he says with his serious tone again "you're my last chance, dude. I lost Jesse" I says "good then" he says

"Kyle, please" I says with watery eyes "I am not gonna give you anything, I am sorry" he says "fuck you!" I pushed him, making him fall down.

He quickly stands up and grabs me, starting to shove me. "I hate you!" I says as he moves me out of his door

"I thought we were friends!" I bangs on his door from outside "I am doing this because we are friends!" He says

"No you're not, you're just a fucking asshole that's who you really are. What's your workbook giving me a little bit of weed?" I yells

"You're out of control, H" he says "you don't even know me, fucking asshole" I bangs on the door

"Come on, man..." I says with a tired voice "you're dead to me." I says before I walks away

I walks around until I reach some bar, it was pretty late so it was close. I sighs before I gets an idea

I break in and grabs a bottle, I walks off with it until I reaches the dock. I sits down, watches the waves as I drink from the bottle

I was never a big fan of drinking, but I was desperate to forget. Not too desperate to go to Jesse's, but I was pretty desperate.

I don't know how I got to that point, but when I open my eyes I sees Shoupe standing in front of me and an empty bottle next to me

"Good morning, kid. I see you had an interesting evening last night" he says "oh, man" I rubs my eyes

"Come on, let's go" he grabs my shoulder and make me stand up "where are we going?" I asks "just get in" he walks me to his car

"What did I do?" I asks as he puts handcuffs on my hand "underage drinking, broke into a bar, vandalised their place, stole a drink." he says

"Kind of impressive for one night. You and your boyfriend, JJ, should share notes" he says "don't talk about JJ" I says "get in" he says

"Shoupe, come on" I glazes him "get in" he says, I sigh before I gets in "what's going on with you, Haley?" He asks

"It's none of your business" I says "your mom is worried about you" he says "shit" I groans

"Yeah, shit" he says "hey, Shoupe?" I says "yes?" He asks "will you shut up?" I asks "if you'd like it that way-" he says

"Yeah, I would love it" I cuts him off before we arrives the station "it's really not that deep, bro" I mutters as I gets out of the car

"Yeah, whatever. Let's go in" he shoves me "don't fucking touch me" I glares at him before I continues walking into the station

"Haley" my mom stands up, she was waiting in the waiting area. She walks towards me and hugs me

"I am sorry mom" I says "it's okay, babe. It's gonna be okay" she smiles at me

"Let's walk to my room" Shoupe says, I looks at my mom confused before we follows him

"So..." me and my mom sits down in front of Shoupe "what is this?" I asks "I talked to Shoupe, the bar agreed to not press charges in one term" she says

"Okay, that's good. Whatever I just want to home" I says "well, Haley, that's the thing..." Shoupe says

"What?" I asks "the term is that your mom will send you to a camp" Shoupe says "what? What do you mean a camp?" I starts panicking

"Haley, calm down" my mom says "hey, no. I am not going back to rehab, I wasn't doing anything, you can drug test right now" I says

"We're not talking about rehab, we're taking about Kitty Hawk" Shoupe says "Kiara's parents sending her there, we talked to the owner of the bar and they agreed not to press charges if you go there" my mom explains

"you talked to Kie's parents? They hate me!" I says "they don't hate you, they said they have heard it's the best option and you got not other choice" she says

"What do you mean I don't have a choice? You can't force me to go there" I argues "you were passed out, I can do whatever I want" she says

"I don't drink, okay? I don't like it that much, I got a little bit crazy last night, but I am completely fine, I am over it!" I says

"Haley, this is the term" Shoupe says "you don't listen to me, alright?" I says "we are hearing you, we just can't believe you. You have history of addictions and what you need right now is boundaries" Shoupe says

"An addictions, not addictions, one. And I am clean for months, this one night doesn't mean anything. Mom, can you say something?" I says

"Haley, breaking into a bar? I can't defend you on this one" she says "you are my mom you're supposed to defend me!" I says

"Not when Shoupe finds you unconscious by a dock after a long night of me searching for you like crazy" she says

"Mom, I am sorry. I know you're pissed at me but please don't do this to me. I'll take anything else" I says "it's either that or jail" Shoupe says

"Mom" I looks at her helpless "I signed you in already, I am sorry" she says

"Are you serious?" I says "yes, Haley. I am" she says before I chuckles "no, you can't do that! You can't just drop me in some random camp away from my friends!" I says

"Your friend brought your here!" My mom argues "I am sorry, but I'll have to cut you both. Haley, for your own safety, you'd spent the night here until the guys from Kitty Hawk will arrive" Shoupe explains

"Oh, great. Add letting your daughter rot in a cell into your 'mother of the year, list" I says "you know what? I am done with you" she stands up

"Yeah, yeah. Just leave, you're hood at it when I need you" I says as she walks away. I shares a last look with her before she leaves.

"Come on, Haley" Shoupe says "fuck you, man. Don't fucking touch me" he walks me to my cell. I stands in front of it for a few seconds, Shoupe unlocks the handcuffs from my hands as I walks in

"Peterkin would've been so disappointed in the way you're turning out" he says, I glares at him for a few seconds "screw you!" I yells as he walks away

I takes a look around the cell, it was quite, not the silence that I like. Scary silence. Lonely. I let out a tear rolling down my cheek as I sits down on the bed

How did I get here?

I don't even like drinking.
