"All right, JJ. Pin it here" John B instructs JJ as we were on a boat searching for the gold at the spot Pope have found at the computer "Roger that! X marks the spot" JJ says

"All right, ladies and gentlemen" John B says as he takes a break before saying "to going full kook" he says as he lowers the drone into the water

"All right, JJ, we're right over it. Ten seconds northwest" John B says "got it, ten second northwest"

"One hundred feet" Kie tells the depth of the drone as me and pope were looking at the camera.

A squirts swim into the frame of the drone making Pope gasp "what? What? What? What?" John B quickly response at Popes reaction "it's nothing" he says making John B groans

"Sorry I thought-" pope says "don't do that to me man" JJ says "my bad I just thought I saw..." pope says "it's okay let's just be focused" I says and he nods before he continues to watch the drones camera

"Four hundred feet!" Kie says as she makes a fourth chap mark on the ships rail "the tide's turning" Kie says

"Hey JJ?" John B speaks "yup?" JJ answers "Ten seconds easy, south-southeast" John B says "copy that!"

"JJ, 20 seconds mid-speed, all right? South" John B says "copy that! Aye- aye" JJ says "keep the tether out of the prop!" JJ says to Kie "I am trying" Kie says

"JJ keep going" John B says "John B is that good?" JJ asks "we're good!" He says "okay, 700 feet!" Kie says as she makes another mark on the rail

The weather becomes harsh, the winds starts to get stronger as there was incoming storm clouds "JJ! Hold it steady!" John B says "okay 910!" Kie says "JJ, we'll turtle in this storm" John B says "920!" Kie says

"Crank it north by northwest! Ten seconds!" John B says "Haley how are we doing?" John B asks "almost there" I says "John B there's too much current we're gonna lose it!" Kie says

"South, southwest, JJ! Hard!" John B says before JJ turns the wheel "half speed, steady at this bearing, JJ!" John B says

"What do you got Pope? Haley? Come on what do you see?" John B asks "nothing, a whole out of nothing" Pope answers "you should be right above it" John B says

"I don't know what's wrong" I says "kiara!" Pope yells "960" she says "970" she says as me and Pope were staring at the camera, waiting to see something "980!" Kie says

"Wait I see something" I says "we're at the bottom!" Pope says "okay steady there JJ!" John B says

"You should be seeing something" John B says "I know! I know! Wait, wait" Pope says "oh good god man" I says before Kies walks next to me, also watching the camera "see anything?" JJ asks "it's the royal merchant" John B says

"It's empty" I says as my smile sades away "it's not there" John B says "look just pull the drone up" he adds as I sees everyone's faces is disappointed

"Look we can do another pass. Recharge the battery, go back down" pope says "we've done it three times there's nothing there" JJ says

"Shut up!" Kie yells "what? It's true" JJ says "the gold could he buried, we don't know" Kie says "he's right Kie" I says "if it was there, it would've been found already" John B says

"Somebody beat us to it" John B adds "or it was never there" JJ says. I was disappointed but I felt more sad for JJ, John B, Pope and Kie.

They all was a big part of it and I just feels like they deserve it more then I do and it could really help every single one of them.

"Hales!" My mom says as I walks inside my house "oh hey, Ma! I didn't know you are back" I says with a smile as she hugs me. She only went to a business trip but a lot happened since she left, I was happy to see her

"where's dad?" I asks as we both sits on the couch "he would come in a few days, he needed to take care of something. he'd come back before midsummers though" she explains and I nods

"Have you visited Lana?" She asks "yeah it was nice" I lies. I promised Lana I wouldn't tell my mom or anyone else about what happened, so I decided to keep that promise.

"Are you going to this movie thing today?" She asks "oh yeah I'd probably go with Kie, JJ and Pope" I answers and she looks at me confused "since when have you started seeing them again?" She asks

"A while ago" I says "oh this is good, I likes them. Are you still friends with Sarah?" she asks "yeah of course" I answer "What about Rafe?" She asks "uh, we are still together but I don't think it will last long"

"I don't really like him. I like JJ more, you should invite him over sometime" she says with a wink "mom stop, you're so embarrassing" I cries out "I didn't say anything" she laughs

"Your dad probably won't be happy to hear that, but let me talk to him" she says "yeah, I was kinda worried about that" I says "don't be" she shakes her head with a soft smile

"how are you doing though?" I asks "I am fine, just worried about your dad. I am scared that his obsession with the Royal Merchant has come back" she says

"What do you mean?" I asks "I don't know, I think you've noticed he's barely home anymore" she says "yeah" I says

"I am sorry I was gone for a while, but if something happened and you want to tell I am here now" she says "I know, thanks mom"

"Mom" I says "yes?" She replies "you told me once that you don't like the obsession dad had to Royal Merchant because it used to lead to fights" I says

"How did you solved those fights?" I asks "what do you mean?" She asks "how did you stopped fighting?" I ask "what's wrong baby?" She asks

"Are you and Rafe have been fighting or something?" She asks "kind of..." I says as I feels tears in my eyes "it's okay" she says before she pulls me into a hug

"Did he do something to you?" She asks placing Her hands on my cheeks "no! No, he didn't" I says shaking my head, she can't know.

"Well you shouldn't be with someone that doesn't makes you happy, baby" she says "that's what Sarah said" I says "well she's a wise girl, you should listen to her"

"I love you mom, I am glad that you're back" I smiles "I love you too" she lays a kiss on my head

"I am so glad they're still doing this. keep calm, carry on. Back to the OBX life. Aren't you glad I made you come?" Kie adds

"Ecstatic" Pope says "my couch was pretty comfy, I'll be honest" JJ clears his throat "oh shut up" I slightly hits him

"Hey what's that" JJ says as he removes my makeup on my neck with his finger reavilng a part of my bruise. The bruise started fading away but is still noticeable "it's nothing" I says as I moves his finger

I grab a concealer and a mirror from my bag and fixes it "seriously Hales" he says "I am going to get us drinks with Kie" I says as I stand up walking towards Kie, avoiding JJ's question

"Are they annoying you?" She sarcastically asks "yeah" I answers with an award laugh "hey, uh... can I get two Pepsis please?" Kie asks

"Sure" the man says before we hears a familiar voice "hey Kie, Haley" I turn around seeing Rafe "hey what's up" he says

I hates that he acts like nothing happened. We haven't even talked since the fight at the party. "How are you" he asks "I am fine" I says "good, good. um... tell your boy that we know what he did" Rafe says

"Sorry what boy are you talking about?" Kie asks "uh.. he'll know" he says "you are so fucking weird" I says as me and Kie walks away

"Douche" Kie says loud enough for Rafe to hear "okay what the fuck was that?" I asks "I don't know" she says as we walks up to JJ and Pope

"Just saw Rafe and he said, and I quote 'tell your boy that we know what he did," Kie says "what is that?" I asks "um... where is he?" JJ asks

"right there" Kie says looking behind her before Pope and JJ quickly looks at them "great the whole death squad" Pope says "don't stare bro" JJ turns Pope's head

"Just warning you bro, if they corner me, I am coming out swinging, okay? Slice and dicing. I am on edge right now" JJ says "yeah, yeah" Pope says

"If that doesn't work, I got this right here" JJ says picking his bag "so we just gotta stay in the group" Pope says "hold on- what's going on? What have you two have done?" I asks

"I am sorry, JJ... please tell me you did not bring a gun here. JJ, there are kids" Kie says "No! Kie I didn't bring the gun. Everything is fine okay?" He says

"Oh wow thank you that really convincing. I love that JJ" she says "no seriously what's going on?" I asks "founding principal you guys, no secrets amongst Pogues. What is Rafe talking about?" Kie asks

"Kie, Hales. It might go down tonight" Pope says "what does that mean?" I asks "we're not the only ones who's keeping secrets aren't us Hales?" JJ looks at me

"What?" Kie asks "okay now I feel lost" Pope says "I don't know what you're talking about" I says looking at JJ

"All of you just stop. We came to enjoy the movie so you all enjoy the fucking movie and talk your shit out later" Kie says making a all of us stay quite, I shares a look with JJ before I looks away

"Hey, where y'all going?" Kie ask as Pope and JJ stand up "we gotta wring it out" JJ says "you gonna hold it for each other?" Kie says

"Kie" I says tapping on her shoulder "what?" She asks, I points with my head on Rafe Topper and Kelce going to JJ and Pope's direction

We both quickly stands up and walks towards them "Kie I feel like somethings bad is about to happen" I says before she holds my hands "don't worry" she says

We walks up to them seeing Pope and JJ facing Topper, Rafe and Kelce. "Take one more step. I'll rip that prepubescent face off" I hears JJ says to Rafe before they all starts to fight each others

Kie rans to help Pope as I ran to help JJ who was held by Kelce and gets punched by Rafe. I ran toward Rafe and shoves him. "Taking their side again, huh?" Rafe says as he shoves me 

"stay out of it" He adds before I punch him in the face "Don't tell me what to do you, asswhole" I says before he shoves me again harder, making me fall to the ground

"Don't fucking touch her!" JJ yells as he punch Rafe making his nose bleed, Kelce grabs JJ from behind and starts choking him as I sees Topper chokes Pope

As I was about to ran to help JJ I felt two hands grabbing me "let go of them!" I yells as I fights Rafe's grip "why are you fighting for them, Haley" Rafe says as he strengthens his grip on me

"I hate you so much" I says before the screen starts to light on fire, Kelce and Topper letting go of JJ and Pope as Rafe was still grabbing me

"Rafe let go of Haley!" Kie yells before he lets go of me and I falls, coughing. After JJs breathing were steady he ran towards me "Hales, you good?" He helps me stand up "never been better" I answers

"I know it was a fucked up day but do you maybe want to come over? My mom misses you" I tells JJ making him laugh

"What?" I asks "that's pretty random" he says "come on" I says "yeah, sure. I'd love to" he says

JJs pov

"Hey You came!" Ms. Baker says as she was giving me a hug "hi Ms. Baker" I says "oh please, call me Sonia" she says

"Sorry, I didn't know if it's okay" I says "of course it is, I am so glad Haley is spending time with you again, she was so down lately" Sonia says

"We'll go to my room now" Hales grabs my hand and walks me upstairs "do you mind sharing a bed? Because we also have a guest room if you don't want to" she says as we walks into her room

She seems kind of nervous which was really cute. I like how she always cares about everyones feeling all the time and trying to make everyone comfortable around her but she don't realise how just seeing her smile makes me calm and happy

"No, not at all. I came for a sleepover, didn't I?" I says and she nod "yeah, right" she chuckles "so..." I says as we both lyes comfortably on her bed "what is it?" She asks as we faced each other "do you ready to talk about this?" I points on her neck

"JJ..." she says "was it Rafe?" I asks "what? No!" She says, but I wasn't convinced "Hales... I saw how he was with you today"

It was actually breaking my heart seeing how Rafe was aggressive with her without me being able to help her, she has the biggest heart and she's so caring, she deserves someone that appreciates and respects her.

"Just leave it Jay" she says "But Hales-" I insist "Jay it's fine, I can take care of myself. I am big girl" she says "I know that, but Hales this is not right, if you love someone you should never hurt them, never"

"it's complicated" she shrugs "Do you still love him?" I asks and she stays quite. she might have been quite but the silence was loud and I got my answer "so it's not complicated" I simply says

"He used to be sweet, you know?" She speaks "I can't imagine Rafe being sweet" I says, which was true "no, he was. He really was. The feeling of being loved and appreciated is very addicted. I just kinda wish it would come back to the way it was" she explains

"you can't wait for him to be nice for you when he treats you like shit, you can't put everyone's feelings before yours" I says before she puts her head my his shoulder

"You're a good friend Jay" she says "I love you Hales" I says but I get no response, I look at her and notices she's already asleep, I kisses her forehead "he wouldn't hurt you ever again"
I whispers

I knew she was asleep and she wouldn't hear it, but I I think I promised to myself that I wouldn't let him hurt her ever again more than I promised it to her.

A/n: just to be clear, parts that would have JJ's or any different characters povs would be written but if I don't write any characters pov it's Haley's pov.

finally I got to write JJ and Haley scene and I loved it, there would be a lot of them in the next chapters.

I feel like in this chapter the plot starts to get interesting and I am very excited to write the next ones!
