Chapter 3: Doofenshmirtz's Day
{Ferb}
"Are you sure you don't want any dookleberry pie?" Dr. Doofenshmirtz asked me...again.
"Thank you, but no thank you." I politely declined.
"Your loss." He stabbed his fork into the pie and munched on the crispy crust.
"So what do you do when you're not teaching high school students?" I asked.
"Oh! I dabble in a little of this and a little of that...but my real hobby is EVIL!" When he cackled, thunder and lighting sounds cracked through the room.
"Ah...evil. So you fail students on purpose?" I asked.
He gasped. "What? No! No, of course not! That would be pure evil! I'm only evil. See? See the difference?"
I didn't really but I nodded anyways.
"Good! Would you like to check out some of my inators? Oh, what fun they were! Well, until Perry the Platypus destroyed them...but I'm getting ahead of myself!" He said.
"You showed me some earlier." I pointed out.
"Oh, did I? Well, then would you like to make an inator with me? It could be a bonding moment or whatever." He asked.
I shrugged. Couldn't be any different than Phineas' crazy boredom-busting ideas.
"So what should I make today? Ooh, I'm tingling! I haven't built an Inator in quite a while! See, my skin is really tingling!" He proceeded to show me his arm goose bumps and I bore with it.
The man was excitable. Besides, I'd do anything for Vanessa. Her eccentric Dad and overprotective mom wasn't getting in my way.

After an hour, I stood back to look at the Inator. It wasn't big like what Phineas and I usually did but it was pretty impressive.
There was a loud crashing noise from the balcony and I saw my pet platypus, that for years I had believed he was just an ordinary platypus. He crashed onto the balcony and summoned a fighting pose. Then he saw me and looked at me with a confused face. He looked around and then quickly pulled off his little fedora and assumed his pet platypus form.
"Perry the Platypus? Where did you go? Did you see him?" Doofenshmirtz asked me.
Seriously...he's been fighting him for years...
I shrugged and then turned away. I forgot that I wasn't supposed to know about Perry. Luckily, I was the only one in our family who knew and thankfully, I was the quiet one. I had found out one day by accident when I tried to follow Vanessa and saw Perry fighting her Dad. All I can say is...it was traumatic for me. But at least now I don't have to worry about where Perry goes everyday.
"Aw, darn! My first time building an Inator in ten years and he doesn't show up..." He pouted and then kicked at the machine.
"Wait, isn't that a good thing? You can use your Inator thing now." I said.
"No, that's not how it works. I make evil inators, he comes, I trap him and tell him my evil scheme, he escapes from the traps and then beats me up, self destructs my Inator, and then flies off while I shout 'Curse you, Perry the Platypus!'" He explained to me.
I didn't really explain his method but I shrugged anyways. I didn't care. One day was fine. I did like building that Inator thing though. I looked over at my pet platypus and he looked like he had an idea. He pulled out a pair of fake glasses and slipped them on. Then he put on his fedora and walked over to Doofenshmirtz.
"Oh, what a cute little platypus! Hello, little guy! You have a cute little hat just like my nemesis!" Doofenshmirtz picked up Perry and then continued to cuddle him.
Perry growled and then jumped out of his arms towards Doofenshmirtz and my Inator.
"Oh, you like my Inator? Well, I guess I could tell it to you. My nemesis doesn't seem like he'll show up." Doofenshmirtz proceeded to explain his back story that he had told me earlier.
It was just a simple Inator to make everyone lanky while he was tall and buff.
"And I will rule the Tri-State Area!" Doofenshmirtz yelled.
Perry walked over to the Inator's self-destruct button.
"Oh, no, little platypus! Not that button!" Doofenshmirtz laughed, not paying any mind that Perry was signaling for me to turn away.
I bent down to 'tie my shoes' and then I heard Doofenshmirtz exclaim, "Perry the Platypus?! Uh, now I feel embarrassed about the whole coochie-coochie-coo thing..."
I heard them fighting and resisted the temptation to look up. Not that I haven't seen enough fights in my life. But come on, a pet agent vs an evil scientist fight sounded cool.
"Curse you, Perry the Platypus!" Doofenshmirtz shrieked, waving his fist.
Then he turned to me and beamed. "And that's how it's done!"
I nodded, amused.
"Now that's my day. When's Vanessa coming back?" He asked.
Just then, I received a text from Phineas saying that he and Isabella had taken Vanessa to the hospital and that my car was in the parking lot. I texted back asking if she was ok. I twiddled my fingers and almost shouted in relief when he texted that she was fine.
"I'm going to leave now." I told Dr. Doofenshmirtz. "Thank you for your time."
"No problem! To be honest, I rather enjoyed your company. It gets rather lonely when Perry the Platypus leaves. And Norm...he's just Norm. Would you...would you like to come tomorrow? Please?" Doofenshmirtz begged.
I looked at him in surprise but then sighed, nodding.
"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!" He said.
He got up and then brushed his lab coat off. "Well, see you tomorrow!" He waved and then pushed me out of the door. Then, he slammed the door.

I drove, rather fast, to get to the Danville hospital. Even though Vanessa was fine, I was still worried. I wonder what happened.
