They felt like useless parents. Useless parents that couldn't find out why their daughter would be so upset when she'd come home from school.
For three horrifying weeks, they've been trying to figure out why Morgana has been coming home crying, tears streaking down her chubby cheeks. But, they aren't able to get anything out of their little girl. They tried everything, but in the end, they'd both get so frustrated that they'd give up and just hold their little girl closer.
However, when Y/n once again saw her little girl walk out of her classroom with tears streaming down her cheeks, Y/n was done with not knowing what was going on with her little girl. First thing though, her baby needed hugs and cuddles.
Picking up Morgana, Y/n held her daughter tightly, kissing the top of her head as she calmed her daughter down. "Are you hungry, princess?" A small nod came in response, getting Y/n moving. With once last forehead kiss, Y/n buckled her daughter, then slid inside thr car, ready for home.
Thankfully, home doesn't take long, and after a good snack, Y/n sits her daughter on the couch, then sits beside her, ready to learn why Morgana keep crying after class. "Sweetheart, mommy needs to talk to you. I know you don't wanna tell momma or me why you're crying, but if someone's hurting you, we need to know so we can help you. Is someone saying something mean to you, or about you and you're scared you might get in trouble?" Tears immediately well in her daughter's eyes. Slowly falling over, and down her little cheeks. But, she finally gets a response.
"Yea." A weight is both released, yet weighs down Y/n's shoulders, knowing there's definitely more to the story.
"What are they saying? Are they being mean to you because of who you are? Or are they being mean because of momma and me?"
"You and momma." The little girl says softly. Y/n's heart breaks, pulling her little girl into her lap and hugging her tightly.
"What are they saying, princess?"
"You and m-momma are to-together. They s-say yo-you aren't really to-together because you're girls. Girls can't be with girls. And that you're breaking a law and you're gonna go to jail. I don't want you and momma to go to jail!" Morgana shouts, crying loudly this time, but Y/n gently calms her, promising her she or momma won't be going to jail.
"Really?" Y/n nods, kissing her daughter's forehead.
"Really. Who's telling you mommy and momma will go to jail?"
"Miss Rubix and other kids. That being gay is a sin, and that you'll go to hell and-" Y/n gently shushes her daughter, calming her down so the little girl can take a nap.
"It's okay baby, mommy and momma are both fine, I promsie." Lulling her daughter into a nap, Y/n's already asking her friend to watch her daughter tomorrow for an hour or so, so that she can talk to Morgan's principal. Then waits until Demi gets home.
And, Demi is ever more upset then Y/n was. But, Y/n was able to calm her wife down, both women ready to talk to their daughter's principal tomorrow.
When Morgana learns she wasn't going to school the next day, she was thrilled. And even more happy she got to spend tike with her neighbor.
When the couple got to the school, they held hands on the way to the office, publicly showing that they aren't afraid to hide. "Hi, we're here to see Mrs. McCarthy."
"Okay, take a seat and-"
"It's okay Jennifer. Mrs. Lovato. Mrs. Y/l/n, forgive me if I don't know what your last names are correctly. I believe Morgana's last name is hyphenated?"
"You're correct, but please you can call me Y/n."
"And call me Demi, it's easier than saying our last names." The principal smiles, leading them to her office.
"Would you ladies like anything to drink?"
"No, thank you."
"Alright, what can I help you with ladies?"
"For three weeks, Morgana's been coming home crying, but won't tell us why. But, I finally learned it was from her teacher and classmates who were telling Morgana that her mothers were going to hell for being gay. Actually, it wasn't just hell, but to jail as well. Now, we know people aren't okay with two women, or two men together, but when people start telling our daughter that we're living a sinned life and that we're going to hell because we love who we love, it pisses me off."
"Miss Rubix said she was living a sinned life?" The principal asks, and both women can hear something in her voice.
"That's what Morgana was saying."
"Well, that's hypocritical of her since she's bi, and in a relationship with me. Well, not anymore. I am sorry for what Miss Rubix said, and I'll make sure it'll never happen again. Unfortunately, the kids are going to be a different story, but if you want her transferred to Mrs. Roberts class, I can arrange that for tomorrow."
"If it's no problem." The principal gives a small smile.
"No problem at all. I deeply apologize for what has been happening, and I will talk to Miss Rubix. Best believe that."
"I'm sorry about-" the principal cuts Demi off with a wave and smile.
"Don't worry. It wasn't a healthy relationship in the first place. Thank you. And if you would please come in with Morgana tomorrow, just so we can talk and I can tell her what's going on."
"Of course. We'll see you tomorrow. And thank you." After walking to their car, both women get inside, then head home to spend the day with their precious daughter showing her two women can be with each other and love each other.
Probably sucked, I'm sorry.
