The Way Back

(Just when you thought I quit, i'm back. Probably not a good idea but you live and learn.)

3rd person pov

Pyrrh: So, did you ever figure out what your Semblance was?

Y/N: Some kind of weird ghost hit thing. Woulda been better if they got staggered by it too

Pyrrh: Well, no one's perfect

Y/N: Oh that's easy for you to say

This caused the redhead to look over in confusion, wondering what he ment by that exactly, whether or not it was a compliment or an insult. Still, he tried to take it as a positive and offered a smile.

Pyrrh: You'll be back on your feet in no time

Giving a pat to the teen's back he still smiled at him, trying to be friendly once again as the both of them tried to patch things up after their discussion from the other night.

Thankfully they had managed to hitch a ride towards a town, however at the expense of needing to make stops along the way and an admittedly slow and bumpy ride.

Still, it was better then walking and tiring out the still healing Y/N, as this whole mission was about saving him after all. Ahead of the humans sat the two Faunas, with Ilia having turned his head away to watch the passing scenary.

Blake knew he had lost ground with Y/N and figured he'd never make it up, however his feelings became less romantic towards the teen and more just respect given his willingness to come in and save the Cat Faunas despite his feelings towards them.

Adoration only got one so far however. He slowly looked over to Ilia, placing his hand on the fellow Faunas to get his attention which he certainly caught, the Chameleon Faunas glancing over.

Blake: I think we can get you pardoned, if you come back with us... or at least a lessened sentence

Ilia: I still believe in our mission, you know

Blake: I-I do too, just to a less violent extent. Equality is what I want too, you know

Ilia: Violence is the only thing that humans understand. It's about time we're on top rather then them

Blake: You don't truly believe that. Why else would you help us?

This gained a flinch from Ilia, always spouting the same stuff over and over ad nauseum as it's what had been drilled into his head over these many years as part of the White Fang.

Slowly Ilia just turned his head away and went silent for now, not wanting to get further into it. Leaving had an appealing sound however he could never truly seperate himself from the group.

Timeskip

Pyrrh: Oh, okay. We'll make our own way from here, thank you!

Giving a wave the carriage had turned and started to head back the other way, with Pyrrh soon coming over to the small party of people with an awkward smile on his face.

Blake: Well, what happened?

Pyrrh: There was an emergency back home, they needed to get back right away. I suggest we make camp for the night

This elicited a chorus of groans from the three, being sick of camping and tenting already. It wasn't like they had any choice in the matter so they started to move deeper into the woods and started to set up.

It took a while, but it the little campsite started to take shape, with Y/N heading off off collect some sticks for a fire so they could have some warmth and light for when it got darker.

Wondering off deeper into the woodland he glanced around, occasionally bending over the pick up a stick or two. Things seemed a bit too quiet for his liking, usually able to hear some kind of rustling or whatnot from fauna and the like, or at least more then just a single Raven on a tree.

Sort of dragging his still injured leg behind him he turned and went to leave in order to rejoin the others only to see a figure staring over to the teen. Swearing they weren't there before he wiped his eyes and they were gone.

Y/N: How-

?: Odd? You haven't heard to the half of it

At the camp they waited and waited, getting no sign of Y/N no matter how many minutes seemed to pass. Getting obviously worried Pyrhh got up without a word, bringing his weapons with him.

His eyes darted over the horizon, scanning for the teen although it started to get darker and darker, struggling for light he took out his scroll only to find a helmet on the floor, having a white design with red lining and eyes.

Pyrrh: The White Fang, out here?

Having no time to think further upon hearing fighting further ahead he hurried along quickly, his mind racing with horrible thoughts of the worst outcome which only quickened his pace.

What he didn't expect to see what a very obvious message written into a tree, with coordinates making him quickly take a picture and send it to Blake with the message. "Heading here, Y/N's been taken."

Putting them into his scroll and getting the location he ran off at full sprint, while unbeknownst to him Y/N was being gagged and restrained, a red swirling thing behind his assailant.

Once fully tied up he could hear them grunt before grabbing him by the back of the collar, dragging him over to the discarded mask which they put back over their head, now going to what they made.

?: Gotta say, kid. Didn't think you'd hit so hard, but now-

Stepping through they appeared somewhere completely different, with Y/N being utterly disorientated and confused. He was thrown to the ground inside a tent, with the assailant crouching down in front of him, grabbing him by the chin.

?: Why's the White Fang got such a high price on your head?

He could only see red eyes staring right back at him now, it being too dark to tell who this was beforehand even when he knocked the mask off. The person huffed and stood up, holding their side while heading to a small table in the tent.

They lifted their top a little, grabbing some medical supplies and pressing it against a wound Y/N had managed to enflict, having done rather well for himself despite being ambushed and having no weapons outside what he could grab from the forest floor like big sticks and branches.

?: Oh right, the gag, that's why you're not answering. It not because you're trying to be the strong silent type, right?

They came back over and removed the gag causing the teen to shudder a little, beating himself up mentally. Of course they'd be caught by leaving camps all along the way, why wouldn't Eve want back someone who she seemed to enjoy playing with so much.

?: So, what did you do to piss off that cow Eve?

Y/N: I survived against her

?: Yeah, that'll do it. So what, you a Huntsman? Look a bit young though

He turned his head away for a moment, this feeling less like an interrogation like how it was when Eve would come to the room he was held in and more like just questioning, the masked person trying to sus him out, see what he's worth.

Y/N: In... training

?: Lived through Beacon and Eve? Congrats. You still looking to be one?

Y/N: Does it seem like I wanna talk about it?

This was met with a slap causing his head to recoil to the side, a blazing red handprint left on his face from it. While yes, it was less hostile, this person was still someone who kidnapped him after all.

?: Cut it with the sass, it'll cost you your tongue

Y/N: Who even are you!?

?: Either your captor to whoever would would the most, or your new boss, depending on how you do

Back at the camp a second person had watched the scene go down, watching from behind a tree they bit their thumb and hesitated, having seen what happened and knowing who took Y/N.

They took a moment, taking in a silent breath as they felt their heart beat loudly in their ears. Without him there, things just seemed meaningless. Maybe if they got Y/N back, they could have meaning again.

The seemingly mute person eventually began to move, tying their tri coloured hair back as they checked their location, eyes switching colour to pink and brown. Maybe, just maybe, Neo could get Y/N out before anything happened.
