The Dating Trials
(I'm hoping to cut back on the time between chapter's releases, honest.)
3rd person pov
With things having not gone so well with either of the three feminine guys Y/N had grown a bond with, one that was more them just a friendly one, he found himself questioning a few things.
For example, when would this pain go away and what would he do when this ice pack eventually melts? Staying sat there his other two teammates slowly crept out the bathroom once Neo had left.
Emerald: So... you had things really put into perspective, didn't you?
Y/N: Huh? What do you mean?
Mercury: You got your nuts crushed by the person you're in a weird sudo relationship with, and there was nothing you could do about it
Y/N: ...They're not crushed
This came out as a mumble however the two could still hear it and Emerald sighed softly, seeing how things were going for Y/N and if Neo decided to leave him, the teen's usefulness would be at its end.
One of the two spies had come to view him as a friend, so to Mercury that would be a loss while to Emerald? Well, his feelings towards Y/N are still unknown, even to him.
Emerald: Listen. You gotta either set boundaries that Neo has to respect, or you make it so he will be a bit more willing to be nice
Pursing his lips the teen took a second or two, tapping his band against his thigh for a moment as he slowly turned his gaze towards the green haired male, even relenting.
Y/N: What do you suggest?
Emerald: Put all your attention towards another person. You were getting friendly with that Pyrrh guy, right?
Y/N: I... kinda had a falling out? I think
Emerald: For God's- go sort it out then
Y/N: I don't want to make things wors-
Emerald: Go do it, now!
Y/N: Yessir!
Climbing to his feet he rushed out the door as Emerald took a moment before just shaking his head with a sigh. The teen ran down the hall and began to slow down eventually, still a bit sore.
He eventually managed to find Pyrrh who was walking around with his teammates, although they weren't really talking much apart from the ginger who seemed to have boundless energy.
Managing to find a moment to pull Pyrrh to the side Y/N took a moment or two, his heart pounding in his chest. Why though, why be so stressed about just talking to someone?
The red head looked to him and crossed his arms, curious about what this was about although he hoped it was something good, even if it was to get help to make things better with Blake.
Pyrrh: What?
Y/N: D-Do you... wanna... uh, sorry, I dunno how to say this
Pyrrh: Well, what are you trying to say?
Y/N: I know Neo dragged me off earlier, and I was saying stuff that obviously upset you and Blake
Pyrrh: Upset him, yes. For reasons anyone could tell
Y/N: How are- well, how are we doing though?
His gaze sharpened, still unsure of what this was about and how to take Y/N's words. Was this him trying to fix things between them... was this his chance, to finally get rid of the other two as 'rivals'?
Pyrrh: That all depends on where we're going
Y/N: Wait. You mean?
Pyrrh: Of course. Maybe we can go and try a fitting for your suit for Prom
Y/N: Oh yeah... Well, as long as I don't have to buy it
Pyrrh: Just let me tell my team, and I'll meet you in town, okay?
Nodding in response Y/N watched as the red head caught back up with his team, a faint smile on the two's faces. While walking down to the exit, which was also the entrance, a person began to follow unknown to the teen.
Timeskip
Upon meeting up Pyrrh and Y/N started to walk around, neither of them really having much of a plan as to what to do, except from the vague goal of eventually getting a suit fitted.
As the wondered the streets they found themselves holding hands, all due to the redhead sneaking his hand close and intertwining their fingers, although the teen didn't really mind all too much.
Heading into a store to just look around their hands parted and they walked by eachother, with Pyrrh being the one more interested im what lied within the store, although Y/N just gave things a few glances, not having money on him.
Pyrrh: You never speak much about your family
Y/N: Neither do you
Pyrrh: Well my dad is busy being my pr manager, and... my mom's off in by Atlas. The two split up a long while ago
Y/N: Oh, sorry. Maybe that's why never talk about them
Pyrrh: What about you then?
Y/N: Uh. I don't think you realy wanna hear about mine
This caused an eye roll to come from the red head before he grabbed Y/N's wrist and pulled him out the store so they could have this conversation somewhere a bit more private.
Finding a relatively clean alley the teen was pulled into it with his back against the wall and a stern gaze set on him. He took a second and began to turn his head away in embarrassment.
Despite this Pyrrh didn't stop, only being more adamant to discover more about the teen, wanting their relationship to be more then just an awkward thing between them. And he believed the first step was learning more about eachother.
Pyrrh: No one but me will hear you here. So please, tell me
Y/N: A-About?
Pyrrh: Your family
Y/N: I was raised by my Grandparents, okay?
Pyrrh: But why? What happened with your parents that made your Grandparents take over
Y/N: They died, okay?!
This made the red head pause briefly, not expecting this kind of answer or the sudden shout from Y/N making his gaze soften, now looking to him with concern and sympathy.
Pyrrh: ...C-Can I ask how?
He went silent and slowly slid down the wall and bit, taking off his jacket he sat it on the floor before sitting atop it, creating a bit of a barrier between the hard floor and him.
Y/N: Told you I lived on a farm before, right?
Pyrrh: I think I remember that coming up, yes
Y/N: People in these weird masks came by and demanded we give them food when harvest came around, a-as reparations or something. Imagine how cool I thought my dad was chasing off these thugs from our home
Pyrrh: ...Then what?
Y/N: In the night I heard people come into the house so I hit under my bed. Then I heard two loud shots, and they left soon after...
Pyrrh: Those masks you mentioned. So, that's why you don't like Faunas
Off a bit away, with a bug having been planted in Y/N's scroll which was in his pocket, Cinder listened to this conversation, a faint smirk sitting on her lips as she sat up.
Cinder: Aw, poor farm boy. Such a sad story... perfect
(Lemme know what you think)
