A Disastrous Invasion

3rd person pov

Y/N: I already told you once before. I just went to the bathroom

Pyrrh: And you didn't use the one in your dorm room for... what reason?

Y/N: Because it was clogged, I wasn't doing anything else

The redhead just crossed his arms as he looked to Y/N, not believing his story, believing he went off wondering after being told to stay here and rest. However Y/N just turned his head away from him.

Y/N: Shouldn't you be preparing for your match anyway?

Pyrrh: That's tomorrow

Y/N: Still, you're up against Ying aren't you? He'll punch you, and I think you need to come up with a good strategy against being punched

Pyrrh: I just won't get punched. His attacks are short ranged

Y/N: ...Your genius bewilders me sometimes

This elicited a slight chuckle from Pyrrh before he sat beside Y/N on the bed, his arm wrapping around him where he pulled him closer, forcing his head to rest on his shoulder gently causing the teen to pause.

Feeling fingers start running through his hair in a calming motion he slowly began to settle back down while the redhead looked to him with a soft smile, soon turning the teen's head to make them look to eachother.

He leaned down and placed a quick kiss on Y/N's lips only to hear an explosion on the nearby T.V causing Y/N to look over in curiosity, swearing he left the news running but that's when his eyes widened in shock.

Pyrrh: ...What is it?

Y/N: It... I-It's being attacked

The redhead following his gaze, seeing what could only be described as an attack. The barrier defending the Vytal stadium had been destroyed, and Bullheads were landing in the centre of the arena, between two currently fighting students.

Out came White Fang who aimed their weapons at the students, although before anything else could be seen the broadcast was shut off which made Pyrrh climb to his feet quickly.

Pyrrh: I'm going to go help. You stay safe, got it?

He just continued to sit there in shock, having a hard time believing it was happening so he moved over to the window and looked outside, seeing a few airships hovering outside the stadium.

When Y/N turned around the redhead was gone leaving him all alone in the room, still trying to figure how this could even be allowed to happen. The broadcast came back on though, with something equally as bad now being shown.

Everything seemed to be making no sound to the teen as he watched a live broadcast of Grimm rushing past a safe border and beginning to rush towards Vale, the negative emotions from everyone in the stadium drawing them closer.

Despite a news corresponder clearly taking he couldn't hear anything, his ears ringing loudly enough that he practically went deaf. Seeing those white masks once again drew him back to a headspace where he felt he couldn't come back from.

He slowly began to get up but the discomfort from the cast around his foot brought brought back somewhat causing him to sit down and lift his leg, starting starting remove the cast, needing to cut some of it away.

Getting free he put pressure on his foot which made him grit his teeth roughly so he took some painkillers as slipped his shoes on, not willing to just sit there as people needed help down in Vale.

While yes it did hurt to walk like this he was soon swept up as all those students who decided to remain in their dorms started to head out as well, not being Huntsmen although they had the ability the help.

On his way out of the dorms he spotted someone he hadn't talked to for a while, Cardi, who was leaving with his team however when the much taller male saw Y/N he briefly slowed down, noting the limp.

Cardi: You going to help too?

Y/N: Of course

Cardi: Didn't you mess up your leg?

Y/N: The painkillers should kick in soon

Cardi: I'll carry you until then

Y/N: Wha-

Before he could protest he was grabbed by the back of the collar and lifted onto Cardi's shoulder, being carried in a fireman's lift which originally made Y/N want to protest however he decided to just appreciate the gesture.

Timeskip

Touching down in the city Y/N hopped off the airship and put pressure on his foot, not able to feel as much pain as before so it was at least better the hopping around in a cast or something similar.

Once everyone got off the Bullheads flew off back to Beacon, leaving them there until a potential future landing. However the teen felt he might not be able to see such a thing happen.

He started to move forward, looking for someone to help or someone to stop but most of what he could see were empty streets... until the loud footstep of what was most definitely a Grimm could be heard.

Quickly turning as a Beowolf lept out at him the teen slashed downwards, his blade hitting the floor at the end of the arc but the two halves of the slowly disappearing remains fell by his sides.

Letting out a huff Y/N turned only to be thrown to the side by another waiting in the shadows making him land on his back, the Grimm pinning him down to the ground under it's leg.

The growl made him do his best to reach for his weapon, but being pinned like this restricted his movements. As the Ursai lowered it's head and opened it's jaw he placed one hand on it's head to try and hold it back, while desperately typing on his scroll with the other.

Once satisfied he used his other arm to do his best to hold it back, although given the strength and weight of the Grimm it really wasn't going well for him. That was until something suddenly rocketed down and crashed into the beast, killing it.

Sighing in relief Y/N just stayed laying the ground, panting softly as he managed to save himself by calling for his rocket locker. Slowly reaching over he grabbed his sword and got up, climbing to his feet slowly.

Hearing the desperate cry of someone he let out a breath and started to run over to help, having rested his sword on his shoulder to prevent it from swinging everywhere.

The teen started to hurry as he turned a corner and saw a civilian being held up by White Fang soldiers which made him freeze in place. They looked over to him for a moment before aiming their guns, yelling at him once again.

Despite this there was no response from the teen, his heart now pounding in his ears as his breath became shaky, slowly taking a step backwards to run, leave and never turn back.

As he just stood there frozen the White Fang were accosted from behind, with Blake coming from the rooftop where he dealt with them swiftly, showing the sheer skill gap between Y/N and other Huntsmen in training.

When the last body hit the floor the civilian thanked Blake and ran causing the Faunas to approach the teen who was slowly beginning to calm down, his breath shaking as he struggled to pull his gaze away from their faces.

Blake: Hey! Y/N, look at me, okay?

He placed his hands on his cheeks and forced him to look at him in the eyes, getting in the way of the White Fang members although he was clearly still shaken up, having yet to see one in person since that day.

Y/N: The uh... th-the masks, they-

Blake: Don't think about it. You're better then them, better then some freak wearing a mask

Y/N: B-But they...

Blake: They nothing. They've done nothing to you, you don't need need be scared of some random grunts

Deciding he couldn't really argue in this stage he just nodded, feeling the hands slowly retract from his face before he slumped and placed his hands on his knees, taking a moment to recuperate himself.

As he did Blake stayed by him but looked around carefully, knowing that anything could come out any time however they couldn't remain idle for long, given the situation.

Blake: Do you need me to stay with you?

Y/N: N-No, I'm... I'd just hold you back

Blake: Okay... back up should be here soon, as soon as they handle the situation up at the Vytal stadium. Do your best until then

This just got another nod from the teen he began to stand up straight, turning away from the bodies behind him as he did his best to keep a straight face and a steady grip on his sword.

Once he felt his legs stop shaking he started to move once again, having no clue how many more White Fang were here but he wouldn't be lucky every time, or even again, so he needed to "get over it."

Up at the stadium the crowd started to disperse as Pyrrh panted softly to himself, doing his part to help stop the White Fang that had invaded the stadium but his short rest was cut off when one of them started to laugh.

White Fang: I-If you think you've stopped us, you're wrong. Our leader is coming... she'll destory down your tower and watch the rubble crush you!

Pyrrh: Who, that Sienna woman?

White Fang: Our true leader! The only one who can lead us properly!

Before he could question the Faunas any further a series of bright lights could be seen across the city, accented with flames that soon began to follow and spread, letting the redhead see that these were explosions.

Taking out his scroll he found Y/N's number and began to call it, pacing away he bit his nail as the ring tone went on and on until automatically hanging up, with the teen's answering machine playing a message instead.

Pyrrh: No no no... Y/N, you idiot! Pick up!

(Lemme know what you think)
