To take some of the wind from the sails, Y/N thought it would be nice to go out with Dakota for some time. It was early in the morning and unexpectedly, Y/N was the first one awake this time as he quietly got out of bed and walked towards the kitchen. He had a soft smile on his face, seeing Blue and Marvel sleep near the couch. Overall, he has gotten along much better with the two dogs honestly which was something Tegan loved to see. But today, the focus was on the woman he started this whole adventure with and he had a surprise prepared already. So while preparing the coffee maker, Y/N heard the front door open to see Dakota walk in with a bunch of letters.

Dakota:" Whoever sent all these is a dick."

Y/N:" Good morning to you as well, Kota."

Dakota:" Hey, Y/N. You're up early for once. How come?"

Y/N:" The early bird gets the worm, y'know? Nice outfit though. I like it."

Well, Dakota wasn't very subtle there with her choice of clothing. But she giggled a little and walked towards Y/N, sitting down on the counter to watch what he was doing. Something made her feel like he was up to something and he was.

Y/N:" How did you sleep last night?"

Dakota:" Pretty well. Considering I'm at your side most of the time, I really can't complain. Rhea's snoring is a little annoying though."

Y/N:" Rhea is snoring at night?"

Dakota:" Yes! You should hear her. It's unbelievable."

Y/N:" Oh gosh. Poor you then, but today will be much better."

Dakota:" And why is that, Mr Smartypants?"

Y/N:" You and I are going out today. We'll have lunch at a nice italian restaurant."

Dakota's excitement showed in her smile before she hugged Y/N and pulled him closer to herself. It seemed like she has been waiting to have a day with Y/N again without anyone else around. Her lips peppered the young man's face with soft kisses before she rested her forehead against his.

Dakota:" I swear I could marry you right on the spot."

Y/N:" Maybe you don't have to wait that much longer."

Dakota:" WHAAAAAT?!"

And that was the moment everyone else in the house was woken up. Dakota's loud squeal really took things to another level there as she thought of how it would feel to get married to Y/N. Maybe, just maybe he was planning to take this whole thing to the next level. For now though, the rest of the ladies joined in fora much needed breakfast, especially such an unexpected wakeup call.

The first part of the day went by smoothly with Dakota claiming her spot on Y/N's lap, her arms wrapped around his body and her head resting on his shoulder. Apparently daydreaming about marriage can do that to someone, even without any real confirmation about it. Especially Priscilla made a few jokes about how she was hogging Y/N, but it was all meant in good spirits.

Tegan:" And what are we going to do, ladies?"

Rhea:" I think some party games would be fun. Anyone up for Twister?"

Kay Lee:" I am. Just gotta stretch before we start."

Priscilla:" I already know this won't be easy for us. Someone help!"

Y/N:" I would, but I'm held down by Captain Kota."

Dakota:" And I won't let go that quickly...hubby~."

Priscilla:" What did you call him?"

Dakota:" Nothing!"

Tegan:" Riiight. You can tell us though."

Y/N:" When the time is right, I will. Dakota, I would suggest you go change. We gotta head out in a few minutes."

Dakota wore a smug smirk on her face now and then got off of Y/N to change into something nice while Y/N chuckled to himself, only to find the others looking at him with raised eyebrows.

Rhea:" Okay, what's going on between you two?"

Kay Lee:" Yeah, you're not acting like your usual selves."

Y/N:" Weeell...Dakota said she might marry me on the spot and I said she might not have to wait long for that...That's why she's so excited."

Rhea:" You're...really thinking about this. I don't know what to say..."

Tegan:" Well, logic dictates that Rhea and I should be involved too..."

Kay Lee:" So should I. I know Y/N the longest, even since before you all met him."

Priscilla:" And I should be involved since I'm the mom of his first child."

Okay, maybe that wasn't the smartest thing Y/N ever did as it caused the four women to argue against each other.

Y/N fainted comically from the pressure, causing all noise to die down again. Yes, he loved all of them equally, no doubt about that. But arguing about the order of who should marry him next wasn't how the day was supposed to go. Thankfully nobody got too serious about the whole thing just yet as Y/N got up and gave all of them a kiss to calm their nerves and reassure them about his feelings.

Then it was soon time for Dakota to present herself again. She took Y/N's words quite serious and settled for something classy, but fancy.

Dakota:" How do I look?"

Y/N:" Beautiful as always, Kota. It's a really nice dress."

Dakota:" Thank you, Y/N. I hope it's fitting for the occasion."

Y/N:" It definitly is. Shall we go?"

Dakota:" Well, duh! Let's have ourselves a great day out!"

Chuckling, Y/N laced hands with Dakota and took the car keys before the two headed out. It was now their time and they were determined to make the best out of it.

The two made it to the restaurant around 12:20 as Y/N parked the car nearby and helped Dakota out of her seat. He was still as much of a gentleman as he was on the first actual date and Dakota appreciated everything about it as they made it inside.

Dakota:" This place is beautiful, Y/N. You didn't have to."

Y/N:" I know, but I wanna give back at least something for all the stuff we went through until now."

Dakota:" But this? It feels like everything here is really expensive."

Y/N:" It's worth it though, believe me."

Y/N kept his smile as Dakota shyly tucked some of her hair behind her ear. The waiter nearest to them came over and made sure everything was up to spec with Y/N's reservation before they made their way to their designated table and sat down across from each other.

Y/N:" I hope everything will be to your liking, Kota."

Dakota:" It will be. I'm just not used to going anywhere fancy like this."

Y/N:" Better get used to it then, because I plan to do this more often with all of you."

Dakota:" I can't even be mad at you for that."

Y/N:" Hey, you've given so much already. It's time you get something back, because I know you ladies deserve it. And I've learned a lot from all of you."

Dakota:" I'm glad you did. We've been raising you as best as possible haha."

Y/N and Dakota both let out soft laughs at that statement, eventhough it was true. Being around her, Rhea, Tegan, Priscilla and Kay Lee did teach Y/N a lot of things while also changing him a little. Instead of the shy and insecure guy, he was now more open and confident. He was so thankful for having all of them and maybe, if he actually sealed the deal, things would continue to get better for him. Dakota took a good look at Y/N as she thought about something.

Dakota:"I love this man so much. He went from a stranger I had fun with one night to one of the most important people in my life. I can't wait for the moment when he actually pops the question hehe."

Soon enough the waiter returned and took their orders of Pasta Con Pomodoro E Basilico for Dakota and Braised Lamb Shanks with Gremolata and Baked Polenta for Y/N. Despite so many people around and some of them even recognizing the two, they were actually left in peace to enjoy the day in any way possible. Y/N put his hand on top of Dakota's and smiled and the woman from New Zealand.

Y/N:" I love you, Dakota. I really mean it."

Dakota:" Awww, Y/N. I love you too."

Y/N:" How did it feel when I returned home though?"

Dakota:"

It felt good. Really good to be honest with you. When I realized you were back, I didn't wanna let go of you at first haha. I mean we missed you so much and...the first time you left, I was actually crying that night..."

Y/N:" Awww, I'm sorry, Kota. I hope you don't cry again because of me. And if you, I want it to be tears of happiness."

Dakota:" I'm sure you'll find a way to crank the happiness to 11 or higher."

Sharing a loving kiss with each other, Dakota moved her chair to be closer to Y/N and cuddle up close to him. She really was happy to have him in her life and vice versa and so, they spent the day with each other, eating good food, taking a walk through the park and just being adorable and loving.
