-(Y/N)'s P.O.V-

It's been quite some time since Uruha Rushia's termination. She was still the same ol' necromancer herself and would still hang out with me from time to time. Rushia still kept her training as a necromancer in the underworld and I'm really happy for her that her mental state is now in good condition.

A few days passed, I bought a female cat at a local pet shop. The cat has white and orange fur.

I really couldn't think of a name so Rushia named her "Sou-chan" or "Sou" to be precise. Rushia and I have been taking care of Sou-chan for quite some time.

Everything was okay. It was fine and dandy. Anyway, I was heading off to 7-Eleven to continue my work as usual while Rushia went off to do her thing in the underworld.

(Y/N): Come again, buddy.

I said as the customer walked off with a plastic paper bag with groceries inside until I see (F/N) (L/N) entering the store and started greeting me.

(F/N): Hey bro.

(Y/N): Evening.

(F/N): Say, how are you and Rushia have been doing so far?

(Y/N): We've been doing fine.

(F/N): Ahaha, I see, I see. It's been a while since Rushia got her contract terminated.

(Y/N): Yeah. The Hololive members are still doing their live streams and collaborations with the other members.

(F/N): I can tell. Anyway, it's my turn to take the night shift. Head home, buddy.

(Y/N): Thanks, man.

(F/N) smiled as I went to the back door and clocked out.

After clocking out, I hopped into my car and started driving all the way to my house.

-Mini Time Skip-

Upon arriving at my house, I exited out of my car and went into my house.

(Y/N): I'm home.

I said as I took my shoes until I see Sou-chan running out of the living room and was heading towards me.

I smiled as I knelt down and started petting her head.

(Y/N): You doing good?

Sou: Meow!

(Y/N): I'll take that as a yes. Now then...looks like I have to cook dinner.

I then headed to the kitchen room until I see a note attached to the fridge.

(Y/N): What's this?

I grabbed the note and started reading it.

"Hey (Y/N)

Could you meet me where we used to hang out as students? You know, by the lake? I have something to tell you. It's...quite serious.

-Uruha Rushia"

(Y/N): (The lake? Oh yeah, that place.)

I thought to myself as turned back to Sou-chan and said...

(Y/N): Sorry, buddy. Dinner might have to wait, Rushia wants to talk to me somewhere. Please wait for me again, okay?

Sou: Meow...

Sou meowed in a sad tone as I left my house, got back into my car, and drove to the lake where Rushia, (F/N), and I used to relax as students back in high school.

-Mini Time Skip-

I arrived at a certain place as I exited out of my car and walked my way through until I see a familiar figure standing in front of the lake with their back turned.

(Y/N): Hey Rushia, I'm here now.

Rushia turned back to me with a smile on her face.

Rushia: Glad you're here. Come, sit with me.

Rushia says as she sat down on the ground. I then walked up and sat next to her until Rushia spoke up.

Rushia: Remember where we used to often hang around here with (F/N)?

(Y/N): Yeah, those were good times.

Rushia: Hehe, I miss those.

(Y/N): Me too.

I said with a smile as I continued to speak up.

(Y/N): So...since we're here, are you going to tell me something serious?

I asked as Rushia lets out a deep sigh until she spoke up.

Rushia: Remember my promise that you will stay with me for 100 years?

(Y/N): Yeah, I do. Why?

Rushia: Sadly...I'm afraid that won't happen.

(Y/N): Huh? That doesn't make sense. What do you mean?

I asked out of confusion as Rushia summoned out a green butterfly in her hand until the butterfly flew over to me and it lands on my hand.

Nothing had happened at first until I noticed the butterfly's wings start to disintegrate.

I was caught off guard by this as the butterfly fades away from my hand.

(Y/N): What? What the hell is this?

Rushia: To tell you the truth, (Y/N). As a necromancer, I have a feeling that my time is up.

Rushia says and I felt a quick realization that hits me like a truck.

(Y/N): Wait, don't tell me...

Rushia: That's right. I'm going to be gone forever and out of this world.

(Y/N): Y-You're kidding....right?

I said with a nervous laugh until I looked into Rushia's face and her expression was a serious one.

(Y/N): Oh, you weren't really joking, huh?

Rushia: Yeah.

(Y/N): But...what is the reason for you to be gone?

Ruhia lets out a sigh before speaking up.

Rushia: The thing is that I have to go back to my old ways before I was a necromancer and became a Hololive member.

(Y/N): What? I...don't understand...

I said with my head lowered until I felt Rushia's hands cupped on both sides of my head as she gives me a gentle smile.

Rushia: You don't have to.

I was a little surprised after that response as Rushia pulls her hands away from my face and takes a few steps back until I felt the wind gently brushing through me and Rushia.

Rushia: It appears that it is time for me to leave.

Rushia says until I noticed her body slowly disintegrate.

(Y/N): Wait, Rushia! You can't leave now! You've still got a lot of potential in life!

I exclaimed as Rushia then only gives me a sad smile on her face with tears dripping down her eyelids until I hear her last words...

Rushia: Thank you for everything, (Y/N). Farewell.

(Y/N): Rushia, no! Don't go!

I reached my hand out towards her until her body disintegrates, turning into black butterflies.

I watched as the black butterflies flew away from my sight.

(Y/N): Rushia...

I muttered her name as I lowered my head with both of my fists clenched because I was feeling upset that she was now gone forever. I began to let out a deep sigh and let go of my fist from clenching.

(Y/N): Well...I guess I'll just move on without her...but...I don't know why she told me that she's going back to her old ways before being a necromancer. I guess only time will tell in the future...

I said to myself as I went back to my car and drove back home.

-Mini Time Skip and No One's P.O.V-

Later around a few hours later in the night which is 1:40 AM. You were sleeping peacefully on the bed until something appeared next to your bed.

It was none other than Uruha Rushia herself. She hasn't been gone...just yet.

Rushia then approached you and speaks to you.

Rushia: Hello again, (Y/N). This may not be much time for me to go again, but...

Rushia places her hand on your forehead.

Rushia: While you may never see me again...I will always be with you. So...I will erase all memories of me from you, along with your friends who met me. Keeping them only causes pain. I want you to live in peace like everyone else. We will never see each other but always remember...I watch over and I will always love you.

You were lightly snoring in your sleep as Rushia smiles at your peaceful sleepy face before continuing to speak up.

Rushia: I, Rushia, will no longer be a necromancer anymore. I will become...someone else...someone who will start a new chance in life. Goodbye, (Y/N). I love you.

Rushia says as she uses her magic on your forehead and starts erasing all of your memories of you and Rushia together in life.

After that, Rushia pulls her hand back as she gives off one last smile on her face before her body disappeared into black butterflies.

-Time Skip, 3 Months Later-

3 months have passed since Uruha Rushia disappeared out of existence and erased everyone's memories of her existence as life continues as always for you and everyone.

Anyway, you were still continuing to work at 7-Eleven as usual. You were restocking the items on the shelf until you hear someone speak up.

???: E-Excuse me...!

(Y/N): Hm?

You turn to your left and see a young female with brown eyes. She has short brown hair and has green tips from her lower hair, and was wearing a casual skirt outfit.

(Y/N): (Huh, she looks familiar do I know her somewhere?)

???: Hello...?

(Y/N): A-Ah, my apologies. Do you need anything?

???: Well yes, I'm here for a job. Is your manager here by any chance?

(Y/N): Oh, he's here. Let me take you to him.

???: Thank you.

The young lady bowed in gratitude as you awkwardly did the same.  After greeting each other, you led the way with the young lady following behind you.

(Y/N): Say, you look quite young. How old are you?

???:  I'm twenty-five years old. My apologies if I look like a child.

(Y/N): N-No, it's okay. I've met short people before in my life.

???: That's nice.

Eventually, we arrived at my boss's office.

(Y/N): Well, this is the place. Good luck with the interview, missy.

???: Don't worry, I will.

I nodded at her in response as she opens the door to my manager's office and went inside before closing the door behind her.

-Mini Time Skip-

A few minutes passed as I was standing at the cash register, waiting for some customers to buy their groceries until I see the short young lady with brown hair almost walking out the exit. So, I spoke up to her.

(Y/N): So, how did it go?

???: It was a little awkward, but I manage to get through the interview.

(Y/N): That's good. I'll see you after you get hired, okay?

???: Okay.

The young lady was heading to the exit, but I stopped her by saying...

(Y/N): Wait!

???: Hm?

(Y/N): You look oddly familiar, do I know you from somewhere?

???: No, we've never met before.

(Y/N): I see. What's your name?

Mikeneko: My name? Well...I'm Mikeneko, but you can call me Mi-chan.

(Y/N): Mikeneko? What an odd name, guess I'll just call you Mi-chan.

Mi-chan nodded her head in reply before she spoke up.

Mikeneko: What about you? What's your name?

(Y/N): I'm (L/N), (Y/N) (L/N). I hope we can get along with each other while we're working.

Mikeneko: Yeah, me too.

Mi-chan says with a  smile on her face before leaving the exit of 7-Eleven as you watched her walk away until she was out of sight.

(Y/N): (Mikeneko, huh...)

-Time Skip, 8 Months Later-

8 months have passed since you met Mikeneko and she was now officially hired as an employee of 7-Eleven as the two of you had gotten along with each other just fine.

(F/N) would also be in the trio in the friendship between you and Mikeneko. During these past 8 months, you and Mikeneko went on a relationship together as (F/N) congratulated you both that you two were now officially a couple.

You took Mi-chan to a lot of places to have a date and gave her gifts to increase the relationship together. Later, Mikeneko showed you that she was a streamer and has been making wholesome videos and the people in the chat, even the overseas were quite happy and shocked to see Mikeneko having a relationship with you.

So right now, the two of you were sitting alone together at the lake in the evening.

Mikeneko: This is quite relaxing~

(Y/N): Yeah, (F/N) and I used to come here to chill out and talk a bunch of stuff in our lives back when we were high school students.

Mikeneko: Ehehe, that's quite nice.

(Y/N): Hey, up there!

Mikeneko: Hm?

You and Mikeneko looked up to see a bunch of butterflies flying around as if they were like fireflies.

You and Mikeneko were amazed upon seeing this until one of the green butterflies goes over to Mikeneko as she lends out her hand as the butterfly landed on her index finger.

(Y/N): I think it likes you.

Mikeneko: So it seems.

Mikeneko says with a smile on her face until she blows the butterfly away as the butterfly flies off to join with the rest.

(Y/N): Alright, I think this is enough of our dating today.

Mikeneko: Yeah. Thanks for the date, (Y/N). Let's do it again sometime.

You gave Mikeneko a gentle smile on your face before speaking up.

(Y/N): I know and I'm glad to see you smile.

Mikeneko: Aw shucks~

(Y/N): You're welcome. Anyway, let's go home, Mi-chan.

You said with your hand out to Mikeneko as the brown-haired young lady smiled back at you before accepting it.

Mikeneko: Yeah, let's go.

And just like that, you and Mikeneko walked back to your car with your hands intertwined with each other.

After reaching your car, Mikeneko gets in at the front seat as you then looked back at the lake until you see a figure that wasn't there before.

(Y/N): What the hell?

You said out of surprise until you blinked your eyes and the figure was no longer standing there as if they vanished out in thin air.

Mikeneko: (Y/N)? Is something wrong?

Mikeneko asked as you looked back at her then looked back at the lake before you spoke up to her.

(Y/N): N-nothing, it's just my imagination.

Mikeneko: Okay then.

Eventually, you got back into your car and drove back home. While driving, you think back on what you saw at the lake.

(Y/N): (Who...was that...?)
