Chapter 6. On the hunt

👆🏻Sunny's room 👆🏻

I didn't like Sunstreaker's nightly activity. He's on the hunt again and I wanted him to stay with me. I sighed unhappily while an anxious feeling rose up. It still let so unreal to have him back. What if this isn't real? What if I am hallucinating or this is all a dream? Sunny didn't sleep in my room that night but I needed to see him. I bit my lip. What if he gets annoyed with me? Then he'll tells me to piss off and I will loose him again. I ended up in a chain of theories and thoughts I couldn't escape from and eventually made me cry. I was so terrified to loose Sunny again. He means everything to me.

At 3 AM, I slid out of her and made my way over to Sunstreaker's room in the other wing. I think he just got back from his killing spree. He was laying in bed, asleep. His weapons next to him on the black nightstand. His room hadn't changed a bit. Despite he had claimed the biggest room at the base, it was also quite stylish because he decorated it. Sunstreaker has always had an eye for colors, fashion and interior. Something not many men actually have.

"Sunny."

He growled and glanced at me. "Femme, what on earth?" He snapped quietly. I crawled next to him and forced him to move aside. He wasn't happy that I stole the warm spot and he was laying in a cold part of the bed. I hugged him and closed my eyes. "What on earth are you doing here? You've been crying again?" He snapped. "Little bit. I can't sleep," I murmured. He grunted, "alright, whatever." He turned on his side, back facing me. I took the opportunity to lay against his back and wrap my arms and leg around him.

The next morning, he woke up first and moved away from me. "Where are you going," I whimpered. "Toilet, but only if you allow me!" He snapped and walked off. He returned a few minutes later and laid back down. "You are horrible, you know that?" I snorted and hid my face to hide my embarrassment. He sighed, "okay fine... spill the beans."
I hugged him. "Skylar..." he groaned. "It's too early for this." He pushed me away. "Do you hate me?"

"Why would I hate you? It's not like now you're this..." he pointed at me. "Clinchy that I suddenly hate you. That I think you're overreacting, yes, but I don't hate you." I gave a small nod. "Please, relax. I ain't going anywhere." I sighed, "alright." He lifted my chin and kissed my cheek. "I was thinking about taking you out for dinner tonight?"

He snitched some clothing off his desk. "Sounds good." He gave a small nod. "Where?" I asked. "Japanese restaurant? Because you like the food so much," he replied without looking. I got up as well and pulled him a tight hug. "Another hug?" He mocked. I kissed his chest before stepping back. "We need to talk..." he raised a brow. "Talk about what?" He asked. "Are you in a haze?" I asked. He gave a small nod. "Yes, I am scheduled for a patrol because Jazz isn't at the base," he said. "I will answer your question, just not now," he said and walked into the bathroom.

I followed him. "I know... but can't I ask you one question?" I asked while Sunstreaker removed his boxers and threw them in the laundry basket. "Does it have to be now?" He asked, stepping in the shower stall. He turned on the water and turned to face me again. "It's a yes or no question," I said. "Usually, with that type of questions... you still want an explanation so..." he trailed off. I bit my lip and watched him grab shampoo. "What?" He asked. I shook my head.

"I don't want to require all your attention or piss you off but I just got you back and I missed you so horrible much," I mumbled. He rubbed my cheek. "I know. I do realize that but you need to calm down." I leaned into his wet hand. "I really need to hurry now." Sunstreaker turned off the water and grabbed his towel. I decided to give him some space and sat upon his bed, waiting for him to be done.

He threw the wet towel over the chair and snitched his leather jacket out of the closet. Sunny attached his holster around his left thigh before turning towards me,"I have to go, see you soon." He kissed my cheek and left. I laid back down in his bed to snooze but apparently I had fallen asleep because I woke up from Sunny shaking me a little. "It's 1 PM," he said with a frown. "Really?" I looked at the clock. Sunstreaker crossed his arms and gave me that familiar arrogant and iron look. "Lazy pig."

I rolled my eyes and got up, pushing him a little. "You're always so nice," I scoffed. "I can be nice if I want too," he said. I hummed and felt him wrap his arms around my waist. "But I just like to be dominant over you," he whispered near my ear. I shivered and leaned into him. "And you can't deny you don't like this either," he purred. "You wanna talk now?" I asked. "Nope." He kissed the crook of my neck and let go. "I have other plans for today," he added. "Which is?"

"Feeding you, you look like a scarecrow and then..." he trailed off, grabbing another gun from his closet. "I am going on a hunt," he said. "A hunt?" I repeated. "Yes." I raised a brow. "Thanks for the compliment by the way." He smirked without looking. "You know I am just messing with you," he said and glanced at me, his eyes twinkling with mischief. I smiled and walked up to him, wrapping my arms around him and rested my head on his back. "Yeah, I know."

"Why aren't you saying it?"

"Say what?" He asked. He turned around and crossed his arms. "You know what I mean." He raised a brow and crossed his arms while leaning against the edge of the bureau. "You know what I mean," I mumbled. "I don't." I rolled my eyes. "That you love me." He snorted. "Why would I say it?" He asked. "I kissed you once..."

"So?" He asked arrogantly. "So... why aren't you taking a next step?" I asked. "I take you out for dinner tonight," he said. "Is it a date?" I asked. "If you want it to be a date," he scoffed. "I want you to say it." He grunted. "Unless you're too pussy to call it a date..." I said, looking at my nails. "I am not afraid to say it," he snapped. I knew I was pressing his buttons by calling him a coward. He can't handle it and he hates it. "Then say it... only four letters," I said. "You just said it was a date, okay fine. Yeah it is, happy?"

I rolled my eyes. "Say it's a date, Sunstreaker. Say the word." He growled and glared at me. "It's a..." he trailed off and glared daggers at me. "... date," he scowled. "Good boy?" I purred near his ear. He pushed me away and glared at me as he walked over to the door but he was closer and bumped straight into the door and lost balance. I laughed and walked up to him. "Oh Sunny, what am I gonna do with you." I rubbed his cheek. He wasn't that amused and slapped my hand away before getting up with an angry hiss.

Obviously pissed off, he slammed the door shut and left. All I could do was shake my head.
