Chapter 33. Island
I woke up in a beach. The sun was burning hot. I reached for my head. I slowly rolled on my back and looked around. There were debris's everywhere, slowly drifting in the ocean and washing up on the shore. Memories returned I sat up. Sunstreaker wasn't anywhere to be seen. I jumped on my feet. 'Sunstreaker!' I shouted but there was no response. There's always something happening. As if I a magnet to bad things. The adrenaline faded and a sharp pain returned in my leg.
I climbed on a rock and sat down. The pain was intense. I looked around, trying to see if I could see a yellow frame, but I didn't see Sunstreaker anywhere. 'Sunny!' I called out again. I didn't even know where we were. The island was small, I could see the end of it but the terrain was rough. Lots of rocks, hard to walk through, especially if injured. I felt fear welling up. Maybe he's at the bottom of the ocean again. That wouldn't be good. I shook my head. This is crazy. I should've seen him by now if he was on the island. I turned my head, looking in the other direction. Still no yellow frame.
I sat down against a rock. I tore a piece of my shirt and tightly tied it around my thigh. What the hell happened? Everything was fine and then the damn plane crashed. I heard a scream, coming from behind. I knew that wasn't Sunstreaker. He doesn't scream, when he's in pain. I swiftly turned around. The pilot of the plane ran up to me, his eyes wide in fear and completely soaked in blood and water.
He crashed into me and we collapsed. The man clutched onto me like a sloth. 'Hey!' I yelled. 'Get off her!' That was Sunstreaker's scream but where the hell did he just came from. The pilot jumped back on his feet, trying to get away. Sunstreaker's holoform seemed a little beaten up but other than that just fine. 'He crashed the damn plane on purpose! He tried to kill us!' He yelled. I got back up on my feet. The man hid behind me, as if I am his only source of protection. 'Aren't you a little overreacting right now?' I asked. 'He tried to kill us!'
I am completely aware of Sunny's trust issues but this seemed a little insane, even for his standards. I turned around. 'What the hell happened?' I felt Sunstreaker grasp me from behind, supporting me. The man looked anxiously at Sunstreaker behind me before he ran. 'Idiot! I will get you!' Sunstreaker screamed. 'It's an island, he won't get far,' I sulked. Sunstreaker spun me around and inspected me. 'You're okay?'
'Yeah, I am fine and by the looks of it, so are you,' I muttered. 'It didn't do my bipedal-mode much good, crashing into the ocean, but I wasn't too far from shore,' he sulked and pointed further away where I guessed his alt-mode was. 'You don't actually think he crashed the plane on purpose, right?'
'I bet he did.' Sunstreaker pushed me aside and started the hunt on this poor man. I followed at a slower pace. Sunstreaker loved the thrill of the hunt, but he was also a little tense. The mech jumped over a rock and stopped. 'There you are, you little piece of shit!' He pulled the man out of a cave and threw him aside. 'Sunny, don't hurt him.' I tugged on his arm. 'Please...' the man backed off and hit a rock. 'Tell me what the hell happened! Tell her the truth,' he growled. He gulped and looked at me. 'I got paid to crash the plane...'
I looked at Sunstreaker. 'Didn't I tell you?! That moron wanted us dead,' he snapped. The pilot gulped. 'You probably would've done a better job if you used a bomb or whatsover,' I said. Sunstreaker nudged me painfully hard. 'Don't give him more sick ideas,' he snapped. I raised my hands in surrender. 'You see that wound on her leg? That's your fault! You injured my girl!' he yelled. 'You're lucky tho... I just promised her I wouldn't kill in front of her anymore. Tonight, you're dead though.' Sunstreaker gazed at me. I was only able to shake my head. We hadn't made a deal just yet, but I am glad he picks up my anxiousness.
The pilot sighed softly. 'Yeah, no... forget about it.' He grabbed his head and snapped his neck. 'Sunstreaker!' He looked at me. 'I just realized we never made a deal. You never agreed to it, and as long as you haven't told me you agree to my rules, you'll see me kill people,' he snapped and jumped over a rock. 'Fine, I agree to your rules,' I sulked. He looked over his shoulders. 'Good, now come with me.' He offered me his hand and helped me over the rocks. 'Can't you make a call to your brother?' I asked. 'I already did, but the fraghead isn't responding. I guess he's in recharge so we need to wait till he's awake. 'That's bullshit. You know Sideswipe wakes up for you any time. I doubt he kept sleeping on Cybertron when you needed him in battle,' I scowled. 'We had battle together for starter and secondly, you're right... we are not leaving his damn island until things have settled between us.'
I shook my head. 'I just agreed to your rules! What else do you want me to do?' I yelled. He hit me. 'You just broke a rule,' he snapped. 'I seriously don't understand what your problem is, Sunstreaker. You came after me, killed Carlos and now this?!' I hissed. 'If you're really that upset about his death then why aren't you crying!' he roared. I became quiet. He stood dangerously close. 'You try to hate me, run from me but I know you love me. Despite your best effort to forget me, you couldn't. You've never loved Carlos like you loved me. You will never be able to love anyone as much as me.' I grabbed his leather jacket and pulled him in a passionated kiss. He pinned me to a rock. 'You should be happy to have me on your side.' He pressed his forehead against mine, lips ghosting seducivly over my lips.
'I truly missed you. It drove me crazy. This is the last change I will give you, you hear that?' he asked, squeezing my waist. I nodded and buried my face in his neck. We stood like this for a minute or two before he stepped back. 'Can you make that call now?' He gave a small nod and helped me over the rocks.
'Your alt-mode hasn't really gotten an upgrade from that crash, huh?' I asked as I studied his alt-mode. He uttered a deep sigh. 'No, not really,' he muttered. I sat down on his hood. 'Maybe I didn't loved Carlos as much as I love you, but he was a good guy and he didn't had to die.' Sunstreaker gazed at me. 'So? What do you want me to do about it?' he asked. I shrugged and looked around. He sat down besides me and wrapped his arm around me. I laid my head on his shoulder and tried to relax a little bit.
'Maybe I should start talking to a shrink.'
'Absolutely not!' I raised a brow. 'You're not going into therapy! Those people only make it worse!' He sneered. I blinked at his defensive attitude. 'No!' He jumped. 'You can talk to me but if I figure out you went—' he cut himself off and walked off to cool down.
