Lucy's POV

I paced back and forth in my room as I thought of what Gray said. Since then I've never really talked with Natsu but what can I do? I couldn't just tell him..... I mean what if he freaks out!?

I took in deep breath. But Natsu said he would always be there for me no matter what but....*sigh* maybe I should just tell him

*Knock**Knock*

who could that be. I got up to open the door

Natsu's POV

It's been 3 days and Lucy has avoided me since..Have I done something?No ... could it be because of my family...arrgh I knew this was a bad idea but .....it would be best if I talked to her. I quickly knocked her door

"Natsu?"

"Uuhh hey Luce can I come in?"I asked her

"Sure"she let me in and closed the door. I sat on her bed. Should I say it now no no wait let's start with a simple one but what should I talk about?

Think Natsu think think use that big brain of yours

"Uuh new flowers?"I pointed at the flowers on the vase

"Yeah but Natsu you were the one who gave them to me"shit! Good going Natsu now you've done it I should just get on with the topic.... okay here goes....

"Actually I have something to say"we both said in unison

"Wait you too?"we both pointed at each other

Lucy then said"You go first Mine really isn't that important anyway"

I gulped"Well these past few days... I've noticed you avoiding me and it got me thinking about whether I did something wrong and even if it is I'm sorry" I said as clapsed my hands together

Lucy looked at me weirdly

"No no it's not you did something wrong it's just...uggh"

She looked at me with a pained face. I sat next next to her and rubbed her back

"It's no rush....take your time okay?"

"Okay"she said as she smiled at me.She then took a deep breath and started

"Gray....he told me about Lisanna" I can't blame him...she had to know one way or another

"And..?"

"He told me that the person who killed her had a last name Eucliffe right?" I nodded

"........What if I told you..... I had the same thing happened to me too?"

"What do you mean?"

It happened two years after I moved away

Flashback ( in Lucy's point of view )

"Mommy mommy where are you?" Lucy called as she looked for her mother

The little girl then enter the living room where her dad was at the table reading newspaper

"Daddy"she called her dad

"Yes honey?"he responded

"Did you know where mommy is?"she asked him.He looked at him and then grinned at her

" Now if I told you that then it wouldn't be a game of hide and seek then?"

"Daddy so mean" said Lucy as she pouted at him. He gave a chuckle

"Why don't you look in the kitchen sweetheart maybe she might be in there"

"Okay"

"Mommy mommy"and then girl went back to looking for her mother

As little Lucy looked in the kitchen she noticed a piece of skirt behind the door. She quickly sneaked up

"Found you!"

"Oh sweetie you found me...how did you find me?" the lady said she hugged her daughter

"Daddy told me"she pointed at her dad who was still reading as he knew his wife was looking at him

"Jude"

"I'm sorry..she gave me the puppy dog eyes"

She smiled. But then there was a knock at the door

"I'll get it"

"Hello how may I-"the man was interrupted as a man in a black cloak stabbed the man

"Jude!!"shouted Layla

"Daddy!!"screamed Lucy as she saw her father drop down with a pool of blood

"Get the woman and the child now"said the man as two people approached behind them

"Layla...Lucy...run"said Jude before closing his eyes

Layla with tears falling down her cheeks lifted her daughter and ran towards her room. She went in and quickly locked the door

"Mom?"

"Lucy now don't be scared. Remember mommy and daddy will always be here okay"

"Mommy what's happening?"said the questionable girl as her mother hid her daughter in the cupboard

"Ssh it's going to be okay. I'll always love you okay?"said Lucy's mom while stroking her cheek

"Always be strong..eat nice and healthy food okay?And when you find the right person for you, I want you to be happy"said her mother as tears began to fall

"Mom?"

"Ssh we're playing a game of hide and seek keep quiet" she closed the doors slightly, letting her daughter to breathe

The door kept banging till it broke. From there came a tall man with blonde hair

"Well well if it isn't Layla Heartfillia"

"Why are you doing this Eucliffe?"

"Isn't it obvious? I long to live for eternity. Now where is your daughter?"said the mysterious man while smirking

"I won't let you hurt my family" she said as she took out her dagger and charged towards him

"Get her"Two men came from behind him

One of the henchmen went straight towards her. The mother with all her might stabbed the man in the eye

One of the henchmen came out from the other  from behind, took out his knife and plunged it right through her chest. As he took out knife. Her body fell back with a pool of blood

Poor Lucy was horrified as she witnessed her mother murdered before her eyes

"Ashiteru...Lucy...."( I love you ) and her mother closed her eyes

"Where's the girl!?" the man roared

"Everyone freeze"a voice booked from the back. It was the police

"Tch... I'll get you Heartfillia if it's the last thing I do" he said before disappearing into thin air

"Hey little girl are you alright"said the police man as he crouched down to the shivering girl

But she felt tears going down her eyes as she looked at her mother's lifeless body

"Mommy... daddy..."

Flashback end

"From then on I stayed with my mom's sister but I knew I couldn't depend on her so I left and came here as soon as I turned 18"said Lucy as she looked down. I kept rubbing her back

"It's going to be alright"

"Yeah..."

"But why did they target you and your family?"asked Natsu

"Natsu.. I never told you my last name didn't I?"

"My name is Lucy Heartfillia" the boy widened his eyes at her response

"The blood of our family is considered very sacred...it is said to give any person eternity with just a sip of the blood and any vampire would long for it since it was the purest of it's kind... that's    why....they attacked my family "

"Aunt Anna, Mom's sister told me about this and she warned me never to get close with vampires and then... I met you.."

"And...and I just can't leave you....I knew you weren't like them but...but...and what if they come and attack you and and I just can't lose again and-" Natsu hugged her tightly as she was crying. They stayed like that for a few minutes

It was so silent but the only thing you could hear was the whimpering of Lucy

"Ssh"

He then placed his head on hers
"I'm right here.. I'll always be here for you"

"And if they come to fight us, I and the whole family will fight back so don't cry okay?"

"Okay.."

After some time, Natsu carefully carried Lucy to her bed.

"I'll protect you"he said he pushed the strands of her hair and put it behind her ear and kissed her forehead

Meanwhile elsewhere...

"So this is where she's been hiding huh?"

"Guess it's time to make a move"said a mysterious guy
