*Third Person's POV*

"Are you sure that you want to meet up there..?" You could hear slight echoing in your voice through the phone.

"Yes. Don't worry, I will be waiting for you near the school gates." Your brother's voice came from the cracked piece of technology you called a 'cellphone'.

"Do I have to-"

"Y/N. Stop stressing yourself over such thoughts. You are just gonna pick me up and then I promise we can go to get some dumplings." Shoto's voice tried to reassure the stubborn sibling.

"Just come and I promise to meet you right away Y/N- OI YOU HALF-N-HALF BASTARD MOVE-" Someone shouted through the phone, before you could even ask what the hell is going on, Shoto hung up.

Slurping your hands down, you lazily walked in the opposite direction towards the all well known U.A Academy...

'Why can't he just come to MY school instead?! I swear it's even three times nearer than U.A!'

Obviously the U.A Academy is only for the best of the best. You would never say this to your older brother but, you were slightly jealous of him.

But who wouldn't? Good looks, talented, smart, caring and well, well... PERFECTION! Well... except one thing...

Family.

Your family was definitely far from perfect. Never really having a chance to talk to your mother properly since the accident with Shoto...

As you reached the gates you deadpanned as your eyesight hit...

...

None.

'Yeah right, ''I promise to meet you right away!'' Ugh, don't make promises you can't keep bro.'

Moving on from the lying tragedy, you shifted your gaze at the buildings of U.A. Your e/c eyes widening in awe at the beauty of the architecture.

'I wonder if I could go here one day, if I ever get my quirk...'

Before you realised, a guy walked stiffly towards the spaced out version of you. His posture didn't say stiff in a 'nervous' manner, but rather in a disciplined one.

"Excuse me, are you in need of any assistance?" Jumping from the sudden voice, you warily looked around until your eyes landed on the guy himself.

"Um... Well I am just waiting for m-my brother..." You would have to admit, he scared the crap out of you! But then again, since you didn't have a quirk you did have to be extra careful about your surroundings.

"My deepest apologies if I have somehow scared you...?"

"Y/N. Todoroki Y/N."

The guys glasses shined at the mention of his dual hair coloured classmate. He walked a few steps forward, instantly making you take a few steps backwards.

Noticing your discomfort, he straightened his posture. His glasses shining in the sunlight a he stuck his hand out towards you.

"I am Tenya Iida, my deepest apologies if I made you feel uncomfortable but I assume that you are waiting for Todoroki Shoto?"

The guy, now known as Iida eyed you curiously, completely oblivious to your flushed face.

'He talks in such a strange way...'

Shaking his hand, you smiled before rubbing the back of your head sheepishly.

"Ah, sorry! Nice to meet you Iida. I am sorry it's just I am not really good at social... Erm well..?" Your voice started to become quieter and quieter making Iida coming closer and closer so he could hear you.

"Is my brother a classmate of yours?" You smiled as your gaze shifted back to the buildings.

"Well yes. But I must warn you that you do need to improve your social skills as a future hero like your brother."

'A hero without a quirk huh...'

A chuckle left your lips as you raised your hands in a 'calm down' gesture.

"Oh I am not even becoming a hero. I am not very suited for such job..." You trailed off before shifting your gaze towards the ground.

A sad smile was twitching on your lips as a memories flashed in your head.

You. Todoroki. Mother. Father. Everyone. Out of everyone YOU had to be the one to disappoint them. While Shoto was a 'masterpiece' you were a 'failure'.

Before Iida could question any further, a silent cough caught the attention of you both.

Right in front of you two stood Shoto himself, raising an eyebrow at you two before sending you an apologetic look.

"Sorry. I underestimated the timing. C'mon Y/N." Not sparing a glance at the two, the cold boy continued to walk, slowing down slightly to let you catch up.

"W-well it was nice meeting you Iida-San-"

"Please there is no need for honourifics, just Iida is fine." He smiled before waving a goodbye to you.

'Wow... That boy sure is very nice and polite... Unlike my classmates..."

A depressed aura surrounded you as your mind remembered all the idiots and jerks you were stuck with in junior high school...

'Well... At least that's my last year...'

"So what did you discuss with Iida?"

The question caught you off guard as you turned to face your older brother. His eyes held slight curiosity as he raised his eyebrow at you.

"Oh well, we just talked about..."

Now that you thought about it, you two didn't really have time to talk about anything.

"U-um we learned each other's names." Pink dusted your face as you scratched your cheek nervously.

"And where does such curiosity come from..?" You wiggled your eyebrows at the boy and you swear you could see his lips twitch upwards.

But of course it's Shoto, so he instantly formed them into a straight line as amusement wondered in his dual coloured eyes.

"I never seen you so... Flustered before."

Rolling your eyes you simply nudged him before covering your red cheeks. A pout formed on your lips as you squirted your eyes in suspicion.

"Hey aren't you supposed to turn into a 'overprotective brother-mode'?"

Completely ignoring your ranting, Shoto opened the door of the cafe for you to walk in.

'Are we already here?!'

"Well in my opinion Iida is one of those people I have no fear of letting you talk to. Believe me, there are a lot worse."

In an instant a picture of a red-eyed blonde appeared in the boy's head.

'It could've had been a lot worse'

And so weeks went by, Shoto noticed that you would come to accompany him after school more often.

Your eyes would always lit up at the sight of his blue-haired classmate and the two of you would talk a lot.

And once, Todoroki made sure to come earlier than everyone. Of course he could never beat the famous record of Tenya Iida himself. Who once came three hours earlier but it was enough time for him.

"Hey Iida."

"Yes Todoroki?" Iida replied before turning to face his classmate fully.

"I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind." Staring at every movement Iida made, he made sure not to sound too... Cold.

"Of course. And what exactly would that be Todoroki?"

"Hey Y/N can you come again to pick me up? We could go to walk around the park if you wish?" Shoto's voice glitched through the phone.

'Damn it. I really need to fix this cracked piece of-'

"Y/N. Can you hear me?"

"Oh. Right, sure I will meet you outside the U.A." You replied quickly before the phone turned off. Sighing in annoyance your face lit up slightly once a though ran through your mind.

'Maybe I will see Iida again...'

Once you managed to reach the school gates, your eyes widened when you noticed that the only person standing there...

Was not your brother.

It was Iida.

Noticing you he waved before smiling brightly. You shyly approaches him, in hopes that your stupid brother could at least once be on time.

"Hello Y/N! Are you coming with Todoroki too?" He asked with a curious gaze.

'Wait what? What does he mean am I coming? Is HE coming?'

"U-um... Well let me just ask Shoto something!" As your back faces the dark haired boy you quickly typed in Shoto's number.

Only to see a message waiting to be read.

'Y/N. Tell Iida to come to the park. You come too since you probably are already near UA. I want to make sure Iida protects you if something happen-'

"Why don't you accompany me yourself then..." Gritting your teeth you turned the phone off before sighing.

"Sorry Iida, I guess Shoto just left earlier so I hope you don't mind if I tag along do you?"

To your surprise he nodded his head instantly, and you swore you could see his cheeks heat up slightly.

"Of course I don't mind. And as a future hero it's my job to make sure nothing happens to you!"

'And since when is it your job-'

"Well let's not waste any time now shall we?"

Nodding in agreement you smiled slightly at Iida. He definitely had an aura of a hero around him. And you held no doubt that he could become one.

As the two of you walked, you noticed that it was getting kinda awkward but you could see that he was tempting to ask something.

"Um Iida... Do you wish to ask me something?"

"I hope you don't take any offence, but I was wondering why do you feel like you can't become a hero yourself? I noticed how much admiration you put while looking at your brother."

"Well... I am quirckless and Shoto is the only one who usually hangs out with me in our family. I don't know if it's from pity or interest though..."

Letting out a dry laugh you noticed that Iida didn't laugh along. Instead his eyes turned serious before he stopped walking.

"You know Y/N, I personally don't think that having a quirk is necessary for someone just to help people."

The words caught you off guard. Your eyes wondered at the boy in front of you in curiosity.

This was quite unexpected, nobody in your family ever questioned if you could become a hero in ANY way. And Shoto always tried to avoid the subject because he never really had a proper answer himself.

"All I am trying to say is that it's not necessary to have a quirk but so you can save someone life or help them. I can see that even so you are still hoping to somehow making your older brother proving and I KNOW that feeling."

And just like that your heart froze. Tears formed at the corner of your eyes. The words that he was trying to say to you, something none ever said before.

'I can be a hero too...'

"My apologies for sounding so-"

Before he could realise, Iida felt someone hug him. Looking down he could hear a few sobs escape from you as your grip tightened on him.

"T-thank you I-Iida- Kun..."

His whole face flushed before he patted your back soothingly, trying to calm you down.

And unknown to both of you, Shoto noticed the two of you but continued to watch before a rare smile formed on his lips.

'You better be a hero to her Iida... Someone I wasn't able to become in her eyes...'
