Chappie 3
Sophia's POV
I was walking down the sidewalk towards my neighborhood, clutching to my bag straps as I hummed quietly.
Like what happened at lunch, Kihyun's not walking home with me because of recording but I'm completely okay with that since this isn't the first time it happened.
Before I could even take a step out of the classroom at dismissal earlier, Kihyun appeared infront of me and gave me some warnings.
"Call me when something happens."
"Walk inside the pavement."
All I could do was nod at that time. Seriously, Kihyun is like my second father and honestly, I can walk home safely. It's not like a unicorn-alien will appear and take me to rainbow land.
I let out a sigh, passing by people who were walking. I think they're walking to the supermarket or to pick up there kids or whatnot.
I passed by my favorite café but stopped midway, standing infront of the building.
"Should I get a drink or not?" I whispered to my self, looking at the café sign, "Traveler"
I go here sometimes to get a drink or eat. Sometimes, it's with my friends but most of the time, it's with Kihyun.
I think I'll get a drink
I nodded at myself before letting go of my bag straps to open the glass door of the café.
I got greeted by the aroma of caffeine and the silent chatters of the customers. The café was a bit packed but thankfully, my favorite spot, that's near the window, was unoccupied.
I lined up, waiting for my turn to get my order. People were sitting with friends or just themselves. From the looks of it, most of the people who were enjoying their coffee, just got off from their works.
I wonder if the other's are at Hyungwon's now... I hope they don't tire themselves.
"Hey, Sophia."
I looked up at the cashier and saw a familiar 23 year old part-timer, who was smiling slightly.
Lee Jong Suk.
"Oh, hello, Mr. Lee." I greeted, smiling back at him.
Mr. Lee has been a part-timer here for about two months now. For I remember, he told me he works as a company CEO but is a part-timer at the cafè because he wants to help his aunt.
"You hadn't come here for a bit. What's up?" He asked.
"School and stuff. The usual, " I answered, "How are you and Dr. Oh?"
Truth to be told, Mr. Lee and Dr. Maddie Oh, are in a relationship for a few years now. I met her when I came here a month ago. She's really nice and smart. She's perfectly perfect for Mr. Lee.
Mr. Lee smiled and said, "She's fine. Doing her job at the hospital and all."
I nodded at that, "Now, what's your order?" He asked, looking at me.
"One vanilla shake and a cinnamon bun please."
He nodded, typing on the cashier register, "That would be 11.74$."
I grabbed my cloud wallet from my skirt pocket and zipped it open, taking out 20$. I gave the paper bill to him and said, "Keep the change."
"Thanks." He said, taking it from me and opening the register to put it in. He looked at the back kitchen and yelled,
"One vanilla shake and a cinnamon bun!"
"Yah! On it!"
He turned his look at me, "Take your seat. You're lucky your favorite spot is empty."
I nodded, giving him a slight bow before going to the round coffee table near the window.
I took off my bag and placed it under the table before sitting on the wooden chair, placing my arms on its arm rest, releasing a sigh.
I took my phone and earphones from my bag and zipped it close again. I plugged my earphones in my phone before wearing the two buds in my ears.
I turned my phone on and smiled when I saw the lock screen of me and Kihyun doing some funny faces. I typed in my password and succesfully unlocked it like always.
I tapped the music app and played "Heaven" a Goblin OST. The soft music blasted in my ears as I turned off my phone, placing it on my blazer pocket.
I looked outside the window, seeing people walking about and vehicles driving on the road. The sky was painted blue, filled with soft fluffy white clouds.
Ah... Autumn is coming so it's this cloudy.
I hummed along the music, occasionaly tapping my fingers at the arm rest as I waited for my order.
"Heaven is in your eyes~"
When that line came up, a picture of Kihyun smiling flashed in my head.
"Wh-What..?" I mumbled, shocked as my cheeks warmed up.
Why the heck did I rememberer Kihyun? Why? Maybe because of stuff? Wait... Why are my cheeks warm? Am I blushing? Am I blushing because of Kihyun?!
I got snapped out from my questioning when someone placed my order on my table.
In this cafè, the waiters place your order at your table and not call your name from the counter. What would be the waiters duty if they didn't deliver your orders to your table?
I looked up and saw a waiter. I thanked the waiter who bowed his head before walking back to the kitchen.
"Kihyun.." I muttered and looked at my order, a plastic cup with my name filled with vanilla and a cinnamon bun on a white plate.
"Why did I even blushed just because of Kihyun..? Oh well, I must be hungry. Yeah, hungry." I whispered to myself, grabbing the vanilla shake and sipping it with the red straw as I tried to forget about those questions.
Honestly, for once in my life, Kihyun appeared in my brain out of the blue.
After 30 minutes
I finished my food and drink with a content sigh. That was delicious. Vanilla and cinnamon really is a match.
I looked at my watch, 5:32, it read. Ah, the house is still empty at that time because eomma and appa are still at work.
I got up from my chair and grabbed my bag, slinging it on my shoulder. I took out my phone to change the music to classical piano before stuffing it in my blazer pocket again.
Humming, I pushed the glass door and walked out of the cafè to walk home.
The sun was almost setting at the horizon as the sky was tinting orange and a dark shade of blue.
I walked towards my neighborhood and like always, humming to the song.
I thought about stuff but I remembered about Jooe. Is she okay? I bet she's super sad about what happened earlier.
I'll call her when I get home
Street after street, I was nearing towards my humble abode.
Finally, after a few more minutes of walking, I stopped infront of my house.
My house is just like any other house. It's a two story house with it's walls painted in a soft shade of blue with white window borders. There's a backyard filled with plants and flowers since my eomma loves gardening, also, there's a single tree there.
I took my keys from my pockets and stuck it inside the the locked doorknob, turning it to the side and push it open.
The key is still in my hand as I went inside, closing the door close with my other hand.
I kicked off my shoes and placed it on the shoe stand. With my sock-covered feet, I made my way towards my bedroom.
I opened the door of my bedroom and went inside, releasing a breath as I closed it, taking off my bag and dropping it to the carpeted floor.
My room was painted in a soft shade of pink as some framed pictures were pinned to it. There was a fluffy bed with a cute chibi-blanket over it and some pillows. A study desk was at the corner, a few books, a cup of pens and notebooks were there. A pin board was placed just above it, notes and stuff pinned to it with push pins. There was a closet and a full body mirror. Lastly, there was a large window with curtains, that can make me see Kihyun's bedroom.
Yep, there were large window to I and Kihyun's bedroom.
