(Some People Are) Disguised As Rainbows

I've met people who are disguised as rainbows,
and are actually more like the rain.

Where the sunshine has long since gone.

Where the negative thoughts have crept into their
minds like tangled vines sprouting within them.

Where their once carefree smiles turn into half-hearted
chuckles with no real meaning behind them anymore.

Sometimes I can see the hues of their eyes dimming and however
much I try to help them I end up watching them destroy themselves
from a distance as they fall apart before me because they can't be helped.

Some people are disguised as rainbows, including me.
