Danielle's POV

'I'm waking up to ash and dust.'

I stirred in bed. A drop of sweat ran down my forehead.

'I wiped my brow and I sweat my rust. I'm breathing in the chemicals.'

I shot my eyes open and gasped for air.

'I'm breakingin, shapingup,thencheckingouttheprison bus'

'This is it, the apocalypse.'

I ripped off my earphones and sat up. Radioactive by Imagine Dragons was blaring out of them. This song always brings unpleasant memories of my escape.

I swung my legs out of bed and stood up. I grabbed my iPod and checked the time. '1:48am' It said. Well, at least I slept a little more than 3 hours.

I put on my old black converse and walked to the window. I place my sword on it's bag over my shoulder. I hope they don't mind if I walked by the shore, outside the tower. I opened the window and jumped out, not minding the fact that the room was on the tenth floor. I did some back flips and front flips. The air hitting me on the face, felt so relaxing. I felt at ease while falling, as if I had no worries. Getting closer to the floor, I did one last back flip and landed with a quiet thud.

I took out my IPod and earphones from my pocket and put them on. I rewinded the song and Radioactive started once again. I walked towards the shore and sat down on a rock.

'I'm waking up to ash and dust.'

I hugged my legs and tightly closed my eyes. I have to embrace fear, I like it or not.

'I'm breathing in the chemicals'

I sat there, long enough to see the sunrise. I was shaking on my own internal fear. Will he find me? What would I do? Should I tell the titans? Would they still accept me?

I stood up and shook my head. Stop thinking nonsence! He will never find me, I won't let him. I calmed myself and stared at the sunrise. Beautiful. I stayed there, just looking at the beauty of the sun.

Moments later, someone placed a hand on my shoulder, and it shook me out of my thoughts. I turned around and looked up at Robin, concern all over his face.

"Hey, we were looking for you, but you were not in the room. Is something the matter?"

"Everything's fine, I just came here to look at the sunrise." I said and gave him a smile. He smiled back.

"Well, training's about to start. Let's go to the obstacle course." He said and I simple nodded.

We walked in silence towards the obstacle course, not in an awkward silence, but a calm silence. We were the last ones to get there.

"We first do the obstacle course, then we do hand to hand combat training, little lady." Cyborg said.

"Cool. So who's going first?" I asked.

"Robin, Raven, Beast Boy, Starfire, Me, then you." Cyborg explained. I nodded and waited to see how the rest did.

"Whoever gets the best time, doesn't have to pitch in for the pizza." Beast Boy beamed.

"It's always Cyborg or Robin who get the best times." Starfire exclaimed. I smirked and thought to myself 'Not anymore'.

After everyone went thought the obstacle course, I was the only one left. Robin and Cyborg had a time of 2:15 minutes. Raven had a time of 2:23. Beast Boy had a time of 2:29. Starfire had a time of 2:25. I was up next.

"Okay, Danielle, ready to show us what you can do?" Robin asked from the control panel. I nodded and made my way to the start line. I reached the star line and count down began.

"Count down initiating. Good luck Danielle." Robin exclaimed.

"Come on Danielle!" Beast Boy exclaimed.

"You go girl!" Cyborg joined Beast Boys exclaims.

"I word you victory!" Starfire beamed.

I took out my sword from it's bag and got in position.

I gave myself a smirk.

Lasers came shooting at me from some laser beams that came out rocks. I ignited my hands with my blue flames and front flipped out of the way. I took out my sword from its sheath. I then ran to the laser beams and shot some flames at them with my sword. I did a high front flipped above what was left of the laser beams and kept running.

Out of no where, huge metallic fists came out of the ground. I made my way by flipping and running. Then, a metallic fist came out under me and lounged me into the air. I got control of my balance and backed flipped into the air, landing in a quite thud.

The titans cheered 'Whoooo'.

Then, from the ground, some metallic things came out and I quickly front flipped over the first one. I stood on it and from there flipped and jumped to the next ones. I back flipped from the last one. Before I could reach the ground, the ground opened. I was now falling inside it.

"Damn it" I murmured to myself.

I slashed the air under me with my sword and blue flames came out, giving me a little push up. I front flipped in the air and ignited my whole body in blue flames. I floated from the hole and landed with a flip. I kept running until some disks were flying in my direction. I flipped to my left, avoiding a disk. Then, I slashed the the air with my sword and a wave of blue flames came out, hitting the disks.

I kept running until I met the finish line. The titan's stared at me in utter shock. Was I so badly?

"....That was awesome!" Beast Boy beamed.

"Magnificent success!" Starfire exclaimed.

Cyborg looked at my time and it said '1:48'. He looked at me still in shock.

"Looks like we have a new course record." Raven stated.

"I must have softened it for her." Cyborg tried smoothly, but failed.

"Very impressive." Robin started. "Now let's see what you have in hand to hand comba-" He was cut of by an alarm that came out from his communicator.

I looked at the rest of their titans and Starfire's gem was blinking, Beast Boy's belt was blinking, Cyborg's panel, the one in his arm, was blinking, and Raven's gem was blinking.

"Okay, why is everyone blinking?" I asked.

"Slade..He's back" Robin said with much venom in his voice.

There was a picture of this Slade guy on the main screen of the room. He was wearing a metallic combat suit that was black and silver. He was hiding his face with a copper and black mask.

"Slade?" I asked confused.

"Bad guy. Way bad." Beast Boy filled me in with Slade's info

"Got a fix on his location. Titans, move out!" Robin commanded. The titans ran trough the door, but Robin stood there in the door way. I awkwardly stood there, not knowing if to follow or not.

"Hey! You coming or what?" He smirked and I smirked back.

(In an underground mine)

We got to the mine and it was filled with androids. They looked somewhat familiar to that Slade dude.

Workers were running away from the androids, as the androids were shooting laser beams.

An android was about to shoot a worker who tripped, but Robin threw him a birdarang, making the android drop the laser beam. I took out my sword from it's sheath, letting my tail out and my blue flames consumed me. I ran towards the android and slashed a wave of flames at it. It fell to the ground..half of it melted. I helped the worker up, he said his thank you's and kept running.

"Titans go!" Robin commanded.

Androids quickly ran to us. We each were fighting dozens of androids.

Androids shoot at me laser beams and I dodged them by back flipping. I slashed an android with my sword and ignited it. The android fell to the ground, melted by my flames. More androids came at me and I simply slashed them all with my sword.

Four androids held my right arm, and another four held my left arm. They held me in place as other androids started kicking me and punching me in the stomach. Irritated by their actions, I ignited myself in flames. I watched as those little mother fuckers melted.

Before I could react, another one kicked me in the side of the face with incredible force, knocking me to the ground. I looked up and saw the Slade dude. That little fucker. I tried to stand up, but he kicked me right on the side of my ribs. I clenched my side and screamed.

The titans turned around, but couldn't help me because they were too busy with all the androids.

"Danielle!" Robin yelled.

Slade tried to kicked me again but I rolled out of the way. I back flipped and stood in a fight stance.

"At last, we have a chance to... Talk." Slade said, his voice deep and powerful.

"Then let's talk." I hissed back.

He took out his battle staff and launched at me. I barely dodged him and back flipped. I slashed the air, sending him several of my flames, but he dodged them all.

He hit me in the side of my left ribs with his battle staff. I was able to get a hold of it and melt it with my hands. He dropped to the floor whatever was left of his battle staff and kicked me in the stomach. I stumbled backwards, but soon regained my balance.

"I know everything about you. I have been watching you for sometime now." Slade said nonchalantly.

"Wow, I never guessed the oh so bad Slade would have a lolita complex over me, Mr. Pedo." I said. I couldn't help but laugh at my own comeback. I looked up at him and oh shit, he looked mad, even if he had a mask on.

Slade launched at me once again, but I dodged him by back flipping. He jumped above me and landed behind me. Before I could react, he kicked me on my legs, making me fall to the ground. He held my body to the ground with his strong grip. As I was about to ignite myself in flames, one of his androids took hold of my sword and placed it back in its sheath. My sword controls most of my powers, without it, I can't do much.

"Not so strong now, are we?" He was too close to my face. Freaking little pervert. I waited until he got even closer to my face, and headbutted him. This made his grip on me get a little loose. I kneed him where the sun don't shine. He moved from me and held his thing in pain.

I quickly back flipped away from him and took my sword back from the android. Taking it out of its sheath, my blue flames once again consumed me. I turned to look at Slade, but he was no longer there. 

"This is not over, little girl." He called out. The lights flickered and the androids disappeared too.

"Danielle!" The titans yelled in unison. I placed my sword back in its sheath and my flames and tail disappeared.

"Are you okay?" Robin asked. They all looked concerned at me.

"Yeah, just some bruises here and there." I said... I think I have two broken ribs, but I don't want to worry them. My ribs should soon heal, because of my powers.

"Impressive, little lady." I smiled at the nickname Cyborg gave me.

"I've never seen someone handle Slade so well, not even Robin can." Cyborg said. I smirked at Robin.

"Well.." Raven started.

"We have talked it over.." Cyborg continued.

"..We wish for you to say here, with us." Starfire finished.

"We think you would be a great addition to our team." Robin stated.

"So, want to be a titan?" Beast Boy asked. Robin handed me a communicator.

"Have somewhere to call home and have friends.." I trialed off. They all looked at me with I hope, especially Robin.

"Hell yeah!" I beamed. They all smiled at me and gave me a group hug, except Raven. We pulled away from the hug and I looked at Raven.

"Hug?" I opened my arms at her and gave her the puppy eyes. She just calmly walked away from me.

"Raven doesn't do hugs." Beast Boy explained to me and I laughed. I figured as much.

"It's already after 3pm, want to go eat pizza?" Robin asked me with a smile.

"Yas. I'm starving!" Cyborg and Beast Boy exclaimed. Robin's smile fell and just nodded at Cyborg and Beast Boy. I wonder why?

We all ended up going to the pizza place. It took us more than an hour to decide which pizza to order, because Cyborg wanted meat and  Beast Boy wanted veggies. We finally ordered, going with cheese pizza.

The rest of the day was uneventful.
