The next morning, I lazily dragged myself out of bed to the smell of bacon. I ran a hand over my face as I trudged into the kitchen and plopped down into the bar stool. "Morning, cutie," Callie said, turning away from her sizzling bacon to greet me. I couldn't help but turn rose pink every time she called me that.

"Mornin', Callie," I respond, trying to cover up my flustered state with sleepiness. I grinned at her as she set a plate of bacon and eggs in front of me. Honestly, I would never be able to live without her amazing cooking.

"You've an interview today with.. Um, a radio station. They want to record live all your juicy secrets," she says teasingly, and I groan. Interviews, TV shows, anything. I hated having my personal business raided by interviewers and paparazzi. Being famous was a drag.

I shoved a piece of bacon in my mouth, grinning at Callie when she shot me a worried glance. "I'm okay," I slurred, sleepiness taking over. "I only stayed up until four last night with the boys. We were playing FIFA."

Her eyes widened and she caught me before I fell off the stool. I was going to have a hard time waking myself up.

----

After an excruciating hour of Callie debating over what I should wear, she finally just gave me a black hoodie. She quickly exited the room while I got dressed.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if she stayed.

I pushed my thoughts out of my mind and finished shoving on my hoodie and jeans, grabbing a random, mis-matching pair of socks and slipping into my Vans. The four of us piled into the van we had, and Calum decided he was going to drive.

"Luke, I swear, you're starstruck. Star crossed lovers," Calum said as he started up the car. I groan. Every time Callie stays home, we have this conversation.

"No shit," Michael smirked, punching my shoulder. I glare at him, rubbing my now sore shoulder. Ashton pulled out his phone, smirking. I stick my head over his shoulder, looking at his phone.

"I know your code," I grin. Ashton scoffs. "Nah shit, Sherlock."

I glare at the grumpy Ashton and glance at Michael. He's staring at me in a funny way, almost as if he wanted to say something. I raise an eyebrow at him, and he shakes his head.

"When are we going to be there?" I ask Calum, and Michael groans next to me. I look over, and he has a bored look plastered on his face. I scoff at him and turn my attention back to Calum.

"In another ten minutes," he says, and I breathe a sigh of relief.

-----

"We're here," Calum informed as I see the giant label CN RADIO written across the building.

"Alright, let's go," I take a deep breath before getting out of the van, and I was met by a ton of interviewers crowding our car. I attempt to push my way out of the crowd, but I was plummeted to the ground. I scoff as I stand and shove a lady out of the way, making her stumble as I make my way towards the building.

"Is it true you're having an affair with your best friend?"

I turn towards the group of flashing cameras. Everyone stands silent, anticipating my response. "No." I turn back and force my way into the building. I walk into the empty elevator, attempting to wait for Michael, Calum, and Ashton, but the group of cameras were making it into the building, so I closed the elevator.

I pressed the 4 button, and the elevator started moving upwards. Before I could have a second thought, the elevator stopped on the designated floor and the doors opened to more flashing cameras. I sigh and push through the wall of bodies.

"Argh! Get out of my way! The interview is in three minutes!" I shout, and the wall of bodies part, giving me a perfect pathway. But as I start walking through it, cameras continued to flash, and I shielded my eyes with my hands.

I shut the door quickly as soon as I made it through, and Michael, Calum, and Ashton are relaxed, sprawled out across the couch. I push them aside and sit down. "So how did you get in here so fast?" I looked at the three of them with expectant eyes.

"Bodyguards," Calum said.

"Some lady got so excited she farted and scared away all the cameras," Michael informed with a chuckle.

"I punched some guy and the rest stayed away," Ashton shrugged.

I stared at them, sarcasm dripping in my voice as I spoke. "Well, since you got here so fast, you couldn't even help me."

"Nope," the three of them responded in unison.

I sighed. My bandmates were my best friends, honestly, but they really got on my nerves. Every time I even glance at Callie, one of them always shouts loudly, "Luke, stop staring at Callie!" And she'd just sigh, roll her eyes, and turn pink.

I ran my tongue over my bottom lip as a woman sporting a name tag that read Addison came sauntering in. "I would believe you're Five Seconds Of Summer?"

"Yeah," Michael casually replied, his cheeks red as Addison sat down on her side of the table and adjusted her skirt, crossing her legs. She had bright blue hair, which, weirdly enough, matched Michael's hair at the moment. She turned on a recorder and a man holding a video camera came in, I would guess to record us for TV entertainment.

"So, this is a question for all of you," she started, smiling. "Who do you think, in the group, is the most awkward?"

"I vote Luke," Calum replied.

"Luke," Ashton said simply, looking and grinning at me.

"Ahem, LUKE," Michael says, faking clearing his throat as he says my name.

"Luke?" Addison directs her attention to me, and I realized that I'm outnumbered. I am the most awkward, it's true.

"Um, actually, yeah. It's me," I say, and I realize just how awkward I am. Addison chuckles at my response.

"So, I've been hearing rumors about a girl. Who is this Callie?" She questions, and before I can answer, Ashton responds.

"She's his best friend, but we're confident that he has a crush on her."

I mentally smacked him in the face. Why would he say that?

Maybe because it's true.

"No," I deny, but they all just laugh.

"So you have a lady you fancy? And it just so happens to be your best friend!" Addison chuckles and I shake my head. I was frozen to the spot, and I decided that if I wait out the subject it'll pass.

"So who cooks the most around the house?" I breathed a sigh of relief as Addison changed the subject.

"Callie," I respond, grinning. "Her food is the best."

Michael attempted to hold back a laugh as she giggled at my response. "So she's good at cooking then?"

"She's good at other things too. Like doing the laundry, making me laugh, cuddle- I mean, cutting vegetables," I blurt out, turning red when Calum gave me a knowing look. I was getting carried away, and I would never hear the end of it on the media if I continued like this.

"Well, I guess we're running out of time here, so I hope we'll see you here again soon," Addison told us, smiling as she leaned back into the chair she was sitting in.

Michael got up, waving his hands at the camera, yelling goodbye over and over again as Ashton jumped around the couch like a monkey. Calum jumped up from the couch, getting up in the camera and sticking his tongue out. I just sat on the couch and tried to hide my face.

"Okay, okay, guys, the camera is off," Addison informed, a tight smile on her face. "You can go now."

I chuckled and dragged the three out the door. It was barren outside, and no one was seen in sight. They must've gotten tired of waiting for us. I was thankful that the four of us could pile into the van without screaming fan girls trying to take our clothes. It was a luxury.

And I was not looking forward to seeing Callie that night for the first time ever.

I was watching the boys get interrogated on the TV. Luke did not look comfortable at all, especially when they mentioned my name.

"So, there have been rumors about a girl. Who is this Callie?" The lady calling herself Addison asked Luke. I smiled as he turned red.

He opens his mouth, planning to answer, but Ashton interrupts.

"She's his best friend, but we're confident he has a crush on her."

My eyes widen as I choke on the Coke I was drinking. If that was true..

They have been having long, extensive discussions about whatever, and every time he even glances at me, I soon hear one of them shout out, "Luke, stop staring at Callie!" And he looks away quickly. They're confident that he has a crush on me, but I'm confident that he doesn't. He doesn't see me that way, I know. We're just friends, and as much as I'd wish that would change, he is still his silly self, and I wouldn't switch that out for anything.

He was such a sweet person, and my heart swells every time I come home to him. I'd do the same every day, coming home and hopping on the couch with him, snuggling into him and breathing in his scent. I truly loved the boy.

"Oh wow! So you've a girl you fancy, and it's your best friend!" Addison shrieks and giggles. The girl was basically trying to get their attention, bouncing and adjusting her breasts often. Michael had seemed to fall under her spell, because he was basically drooling over her. And I noticed, also, they had matching bright blue hair.

"No," he denied, shaking his head. I frowned, and I felt like crying. Of course he didn't fancy me, and it was expected. We've known each other for forever, ever since we were like, two, and playing in the sandbox together. There were pictures of us up on the walls in the hallways at my mom's, and when I go and visit, I stare at the pictures and reminisce. We truly were adorable kids, and Mom used to joke with Liz, Luke's mom, about how we'd end up being together someday. Me and him would look at each other and wrinkle our noses, continuing to play in the sand box and talk about how gross it'd be.

I forced myself to keep watching, just to see if they'd push him any further. To my dismay, Addison changed the subject. But yet again, I was mentioned. But this time, by Luke.

"So who cooks most often around the house?"

"Callie," Luke said, smiling. "Her cooking is the best."

The other boys shot him looks while Addison pried further. "So Callie is good at cooking, eh?" She says, sounding slightly dismayed. She still giggled, which threw Luke off slightly. I sighed.

"She's good at other things too. Laundry, making me laugh, cuddle- I mean, cutting vegetables," he blurts out, and my heart soars. He was so adorable.

"Well, we're running out of time here, so I hope we'll see you here again soon," Addison said, winking at Michael, and they get up, Michael waving his hands wildly while Ashton jumped around the couch. He was such an idiot. Calum got close up to the TV, sticking his tongue out, and even though I knew they couldn't hear me, I still shouted out, "Calum! Get off my screen!"

Almost on cue, he pulled away from the camera, and I saw Luke sitting on the couch, awkwardly trying to hide his face. I sighed wistfully. I wished I were there with him, but he insisted I stay home and relax since I spent most days in a place like that, working in my secluded office.

Luke made a small waving motion, almost as if he knew I was watching. Then the camera cut off, and they all disappeared.

I truly do love that adorable dork.
