Chapter 4 + Kind of Long Author's Note...
I walk to the center of Camden Public School's gym.
It's sexism this time round.
Something that's very personal to me.
This particular instance, a boy named David said a rather sexist comment. And a girl, her name's Ashley, is trying to shut him up...
"What did you say?" demands Ashley.
"I said, women can't make it to the NBA and be good." David sneers.
Ashley growls, clutching the basketball in her hand tighter.
"That isn't true!"
"Awww, are you upset, little girly?" says David pushing Ashley to the ground forcefully.
I walk over to her and help her up.
"Got nothing better to do than spread lies, David?" I ask as nicely as I can.
"Who are you?"
"You probably don't know me. But I know you. Hell, everyone in this school knows you, don't they. Do they know you're insecure? I mean only an insecure person bullies the opposite gender, right?"
David growls. "You don't know anything."
"Why don't we play a game? Ashley and I against you and any one else you choose. Whoever wins will have proven their point." I explain.
"Easy. Do you really want to embarrass yourself?" he says laughing.
The truth is, I've never played before.
But there's an advantage to my job. I get paid.
I'm immortal and have a knack at learning things quickly. And by quickly, I mean very quickly. I need it to fit into all the new places I go.
Ashley grabs a ball and whispers, "You know how to play, right?" I grin.
I watch David and another boy, Trevor I think, bounce balls and shoot. I observe their hand movements and piece all the new information together.
In another couple of seconds, I say "Let's go." and we join them.
The ball starts out with Trevor, but we eventually get it. Ashley and I pass to each other back and forth and we end up scoring a goal. The same thing happens twice again. I let Ashley score all 3 times.
We win 3-0, easily.
David looks at us with rage in his eyes.
"Bitch. Girl's are weaker and dumber than boys. It's just science." he yells.
"Not really. Our bodies are all the same save for our genitalia. It is the cultivation of our brains and out bodies that determines out ability."
David scoffs.
I put a hand on Ashley's shoulder. She steps forward.
"One day, David, I will be a famous basketball player, I'll have a great life and you'll come to me begging for forgiveness. And there are girls out there who will become multi-billionaires by creating their own companies. Just you wait and watch, David." Ashley yells back with tears brimming her eyes.
"You girls are so damn emotional!" he says.
I take a deep breath in anger. I feel liquid fire raging inside me.
"Aren't we allowed to feel our feelings?" I ask.
"Yeah. You're just a bunch of sensitive losers. Thats why you can't do anything in life."
"Well, David. I'm very sure that you're feeling a lot right now. You're angry, aren't you? Well, Ashley is hurt. And about as angry as you. Though she's controlling it. Instead of grabbing you and punching you in the face, which I would have loved to see by the way, she's trying to explain to you as nicely as she can that god made us equal. And that you'll just have to accept the fact that there are genders out there that are as good as yours." I say, ending with a smile. That was a bit long...
Ashley stands up to say something more and I grin. Though it would be fun to watch Ashley shut David up, I've got to go. I need to make reports after every couple of visits.
I talked to them, played basketball with them. Still, they won't remember me. Sometime's, I think the universe's magic works a bit too well. If only I could make a friend. For more than a day. If only...

Hi guys, so happy I've posted another chapter! I really hope you feel the rage I do towards these kind of problems. This is one, sexism, is one that I've dealt with personally. That comment about NBA, was a note someone left in my yearbook. It's horrifying. Though I've got friends to back me up, and I hope that everyone out there facing these problems do too. Have a great day, and please don't forget to vote and comment! It'll attract more people who'll hopefully read this and spread this message :D They need all the support they can get! Thank you so much for reading this! And thank you those who commented, it really made my day!
