Chapter 3 | Encounter

"Really? We can travel together if you want!" Hau exclaimed, causing the other people to look at the trio weirdly. "I think you should calm down, Hau," Sun's arms reached out to Hau as he pulled him into his seat.

The trio consisting of Hau, Sun and [Name], sat in the café area of the pokémon center. Hau happily munched on his malasada as Sun gulped down his cup of water. [Name] drank a hot chocolate and gave her Pokémon poké beans.

"Before we go, let me get my Pokémon from the PC," Sun finished his water and stood up, heading to the computer with his Torracat on his trail. Hau packed his things and returned Pikachu and Dartrix to its Poké Balls.

"Let's go!"

"Where did Hau run off again?" Sun huffed out, annoyed by Hau constantly running off to battle trainers. [Name] and Sun were at the start of route 5, whilst Hau already ran off to the end of it.

"D-Does he always-" [Name] started, but got interrupted by Sun,"Yes, since we started our journey," Sun let out an exhausted sigh.

"Hey you two!"

The duo turned around and saw two little twins, wanting a battle, but not before saying their catchphrase.

"One plus one is two, but it could also be three or four," one of them started. "There's no way we'll lose! It's important to feel strong!" the other girl ended.

[Name] hesitated, she never battled before. Nervously looking around for help, she shyly looked Sun in the eyes and literally begged for help. He tried avert his gaze but ended up giving in and chose to battle both.

"It's ok, I can handle it. Stay back," he warned, he didn't want something to happen to you, and Lusamine would slap the heck outta him.

The battle didn't last very long, Sun won easily. The opposing Happiny and Igglybuff fainted as the twins returned their pokémon.

"I'm too young for math!"

"A loss and a loss make a double loss!"

In order to repay Sun, [Name] offered to heal his Pokémon, she once read in a book how to heal them. "Thanks for your offer, but it's not that much damage they did. Don't waste your potions on my Pokémon," Sun kindly declined.

[Name] smiled and looked at the ground, feeling useless. But she couldn't just give up.

"Ha ha ha! Man, I lost again!" Sun and [Name] perked up at the voice.

A sigh was heard from the other side.

"Are you even taking this seriously?" A husky voice asked.

"I am! So seriously! I'm seriously enjoying it!" Hau answered, smiling in process.

"...Enjoying it?"

"You can enjoy Pokémon battling when you put everything you have into it...which clearly you haven't."

Sun and [Name] decided to step in, but [Name] shyly hid behind Sun in order to avoid attention.

"Whoa! Hey Sun! Where's [Name]?" Hau asked dumbfounded like. The girl stepped a bit out from her hiding spot to reveal herself to Hau.

[Name] could feel the unknown guy's gaze on her.

"Oh there she is! Listen Sun, this guy is plenny scary!" Hau explained with a shocked expression. The guy Hau was talking about examined Sun carefully before asking,

"You're Sun?"

Sun didn't answer immediately, but waited a bit and responded with a 'Who?'. [Name] carefully observed the guy, he had familiar green eyes and blonde hair, same as the president's.

'Are they possibly related?'

"Hmm. So you have enough sense to be wary. Not bad..." He gave Sun an unusual compliment, causing him to put his guard up.

The blonde closed his eyes and thought for a moment. Should he tell them his name? Are they in any way associated with the foundation? They looked like normal teens to him. But the girl seemed so suspicious to him. Why was she hiding?
