You Are Never Alone

As much as I wanted to go outside, I had some writing to do.

I watched as my mom and dad headed to the outside world. They had drinks to drink and electronics to play with. It was a nice day to get out, so my parents wanted to enjoy themselves. The wind that blew, cooling them down. And the sun that warmed them up by shining down on them.

My mom asked if I would like to join them, and I had to decline. I had a tight schedule for my writing and had to finish writing the chapter. I decided that I would go out and spend time with my parents after the chapter was completed.

It thankfully did not take me long. I was not on writer's block, and it only takes me an hour and a half to write a chapter.

When I was finished with the writing, I went through the normal procedure. I always read my writing twice before publishing it. One time to myself. One time to my parents.

Seeing that my mom and dad were not in the house yet, I decided to proofread it. I corrected a few errors here and there, but not anything major.

My parents were still sitting on the porch, so I thought that it would be best to join them. But first, I had to go to the bathroom and get dressed.

I rushed to my bathroom with my phone in my hand, did my business, and washed my hands. After checking to make sure that they were dry, I shut the light off and walked out of the bathroom.

As I did so, I noticed...a figure...from the corner of my eye. A tall and thin figure in my dad's office.

I jumped a little and peered into that room. There was nothing out of the ordinary. No figure in sight.

Because the lights were off in the office, I assumed that I was imagining things and shrugged it off.

However, as I turned around, I heard a deep, scratchy voice.

"I heard you reading your story. I love it. In fact, I love listening to you reading your chapters every day."
