Breaking Down (emotionally) The Relationship Between August Gomez And Joshua Bassett

I asked Twitter stans for help and they came through!

If you aren't on Twitter or have no clue who August Gomez and Joshua Bassett are... it's a good thing you stopped by because I'm going to break everything down for you... or at least I'll try to.

This is actor, singer, songwriter, and dancer, August Juliana Gomez... and forgive us August for getting your middle name wrong the first time.

And this is Joshua Basset. Singer, songwriter, actor. Match made in heaven it seems.

The now confirmed couple (we'll get there) met supposedly in early 2019 while filming their show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series which premiered on Disney+ on November 8th, 2019.

And a lot happened in that year and truth be told we couldn't really tell you if this timeline is accurate... but hey, we tried.

To be fair, Josh and August just announced they were dating in a series of Instagram post made by Bassett after Gomez announced that she would drop her debut album change next Friday.

Josh then proceeded to comment this under the post.

At this point we can only rely on Twitter stans to figure out how long Josh and August have actually been dating.

Has it been months? Weeks? Days? Years?

Well take it back to the year 2019 and move forward.

We can assume the two didn't begin dating right off the ripe in 2019 but maybe we can sorta say that these two had to meet in 2018 for auditions for their joint show and chemistry reads.

With that said, let's take a moment to reflect on Joshua's improv. He improvised the "you're too pretty to cry" moment between Shiloh and Ricky in season one episode five of HSM:TM:TS called Homecoming; adding he also improvised the season one episode eight episode The Tech Rehearsal line "I feel like I'm losing my
chance" which August caught on to and improvised along side him.

We can't confirm if any of the season two episodes are improvised simply because season two hasn't dropped yet, but the first episode titled, New Year's Eve will release on Disney+ on May 14th, 2021.

But now it's 2021 and we can run it through our Twitter friends to help us.

Joshua released his single Anyone Else on July 6th, 2020 and supposedly (and I guess confirmed) to be about August.

So we'll say that their relationship began around that time in July of that year... it's April besties.

And if we're going by that logic, that means August and Joshua have been dating for almost a year.

These two went nine whole months in a secret relationship and no one knew anything. Not even, August's best friend Angelina Reed who also stars as Jenna Russet in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

I think we can thank Angelina (or Angel) for giving us the ship because she was the one who told August about the show in the first place.

Now, our second to last note... the album.

August is dropping her debut album change next Friday and the track list is very important to me.

Though we can only assume that she wrote some songs about Josh, I would like to think that Paper Rings and Supercut are about her relationship with Joshua.

Finally, we need a ship name! I went through what I found on Twitter and these are just a few that I like. You can vote on what you like best in the poll below!

Just - it's simple it's cute!

Jaugust - looks hard to pronounce but looks cute!

Gush - sound gross but it's Gus and Josh we simply don't care!

No matter what happens between August Gomez and Joshua Bassett we hope that their relationship stands tall and that August release her album and is nominated for some Grammy's (we agree with you JBass)!

i think i'm going to end this story on act two like i was originally :) i think writing season three would be fun but it's a lot of the same i think
