JOSHUA BASSETT loved August Gomez. It wasn't hard to see.

They way her looked at her, the way he listened. All the little things that she did just put a smile on his face.

Josh loved August.

He didn't have to prove it. She'd already known. But he wanted to show her how much he cared for her.

That's why the two of them currently sat at their spot making paper rings.

He'd presented the idea as the two of them make small sentiments for each other.

Even though the two of them were lyrical geniuses they couldn't make simple arts and crafts to save their lives.

"Did you know that people think I'm an industry plant?"

Joshua furrowed his brows, but didn't look at her. He was too focused on trying to make the paper ring from the instructions he'd found online.

"Why?" He asked.

"I don't know." She answered, "The industry hates women."

Josh chuckled at her statement.

"Look!" She smiled, "I'm finished."

Josh looked up quickly and saw the small paper ring in her hands.

"How the hell did you do that?"

"Let me see-"

Josh jerked his hands away from August, clutching the mess of a ring in his hands.

"No! I have to try and do this myself. This is a gift."

August playfully rolled her eyes and grabbed Josh's hand. She smiled as she placed the paper ring in his finger and continued to hold his hand with hers once it was on.

"What's all this for?" She asked.

"Because I love you." Josh said.

August tilted her head to the side, "Because you love me?"

"Absolutely." He smiled, "If you excuse me, I have to try and fix this ring of yours."

Josh turned away from her slightly, trying his best to fix the mess in his hands.

August grabbed Josh's chin, turning his face to look at her, "What is this for?"

"Can't I love on the girl love without any alternative motives?"

"Of course, but you're Joshua Bassett. You're doing this for a reason."

Josh sighed, tossing the limp ring in his lap.

"I appreciate you just as much, if not more, than you ever know." He explained, "I... watched the video you made about appropriating me and I wanted you to know how much I adore our relationship. Secret or not."

"You watched my Paper Rings video?" She asked, "Do you think it's weird that I said I'd marry you with paper rings?"

Josh chuckled, "No, but that's not the point. I love you."

August smiled, scooting closer to him if deemed possible, "I know Josh. I'm just really hard on myself when it comes to you and what you think-"

"What I think shouldn't matter."

"It means everything to me when you love something that I've done." August said, "You're the first guy to actually appreciate the little I do. You've help me a lot and I could never thank you enough. I know you love me Josh. It's probably the one thing you don't have to prove to me."

Josh fumbled with the paper ring in between his fingers, tilting his head down slightly as blush rose across his face.

"I love you, by the way." August smiled.

"Trust me, I know." Josh chuckled, "I possibly couldn't get rid of you."

Though his paper ring was shit, he completed his mission.

To let August know how much he appreciated and loved her.
