Josh could tell that August had been stressed out about writing songs for the show, her label pushing her album, and just the new found public fame that she'd gained in what seemed to be overnight with her songs dropping and being as successful as it was.

He currently had one arm slung around August, playing with the ends of her hair and the other typing away at his phone.

She'd been asleep for the past couple of minutes and seemed to be in deep slumber.

"Me, you, my Honda and the Hollywood sign." He muttered to himself, "Can't help it, makin' out on Mulholland Drive."

He sighed, typing the lyrics in his notes app.

His phone vibrated in his hands, a phone call from Olivia.

"Hello?"

"Did you decide not to come?"

Josh furrowed his brows, "Come to?"

"Welcome week. Remember?" Olivia asked, "To welcome the new cast. The slumber party remember?"

Josh took in a deep breath. He'd completely forgotten about the slumber party. It had been the last thing on his mind and apparently August.

"Oh... yeah, totally." He said, "August and I went to go get everyone milkshakes."

"Oh! That's sweet! I'll let everyone know."

"That's not necessary-"

The line had been cut. Josh sighed and rested his phone against his side.

Not very ideal of them to go to this sleepover right now, but it would be very rude if two of the leads never showed.

Josh was about to wake August, he'd remembered that her camera had been rested in between them.

He grabbed it, looking at the photos that had taken that night when he stumbled across a video.

Debating whether or not to play it... he'd played it.

"Someone named this song on Twitter for me." August smiled, "They called it Paper Rings. I released a snippet of it on Instagram and people seemed to like it, so now, I have to figure out something before deciding if it's worthy of fully releasing."

Josh smiled down at the video as it continued.

"This" August said, turning the camera around, "is my lovely boyfriend Josh and by the time anyone sees this video I hope that we've announced it by now. It's only a secret because I'm still getting use to all this fame stuff and people either liking or hating me."

She turned the camera to face her again, "Josh has done a lot for me and I think, if I was ready, I would marry him with paper rings. I try my hardest to let him know that I actually do appreciate him and love him for who he is because that's all he does for me while supporting whatever I do."

She paused, "But I think it might be a lot for him at once. The constant reassuring he does for me seems to be a thing in our relationship and I don't want to push him into thinking that's all he's worth to me because he's so much more than a supportive boyfriend, he's like, my person. I get him, he gets me. So, Paper Rings is not so shockingly about Josh. Josh could give me a rock and I would appreciate it because it's not always about the material things you know? I really do love Josh and I really hope he knows that."

There was a sudden knock in the video.

"Okay, I'll finish this later. I promised Angel that we'd bake cookies."

The video ended and Josh turned the camera off.

Josh adored August and he knew that he loved her.

Oh... Josh loved August Gomez.

They hadn't said that out loud to each other yet.

Oh, this was a big step for the both of them.

He knew exactly how he'd tell her.
