A Quick Rundown Of The Possible Relationship Between Joshua Bassett And Costar August Gomez

This is August "Gus" Jolie Gomez - actor, singer-songwriter, and all around a goofy, loveable person.

August Gomez, who made her debut on the big screens when she landed the part of Shiloh Molina on the Disney + original series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series on November 8, 2019 has made a name for herself after the first time singer/actress revealed that a lot of the acting between her and costar and possible boyfriend, Joshua Bassett wasn't scripted and a lot of it was improvised.

The season one finale of the show premiered and revealed that Ricky and Shiloh are now the newest (and probably cutest) couple at East High.

She revealed that Joshua helped her write her debut song called BOYSHIT which she released two weeks after the season one finale aired and had since peaked over 100 million plays on Spotify, but claims that the song is not about Josh at all and that Basset helped her write and produce it.

Joshua had released several songs such as Common Sense and Anyone Else which people believed to be about Gomez.

But those rumors began to sizzle out when Bassett dropped the music video for Anyone Else music video on July 16, 2020 when a hand appeared in a shot and it had people question if it was another Disney star, Sabrina Carpenter.

Josh and Sabrina have been seen out on multiple occasions which caused dating rumors between the two.

Same thing could be said about August and costar Jacob Bertrand, who was a recurring character on season one of the show, but those rumors were quickly (and by quick we mean quick) shot down after Jacob had been seen out and holding hands with his Cobra Kai costar, Peyton List.

Even so, neither Josh, Sabrina, or August have claimed whether or not if Sabrina is in the video.

Now, it's all speculation, but when Joshua revealed that he and Gomez improvised not only the Homecoming scene, but also improvised the scene in the last episode of the show HSMTMTS where Ricky ask Shiloh to be his girlfriend people began to wonder if he (Josh) was talking to August or Shiloh.

Josh sat down with TV Guide along side costar Olivia Rodrigo and said, "It didn't feel like we were acting anymore. It felt like it was just me and August and not Ricky and Shiloh".

The two have been seen out and about in public and have sporadically posted each other on Instagram.

Nothing has been confirmed, but Angelina Reed who plays Jenna Russet on the show and is the in real life BFF of August has stated in multiple interviews that, "I don't know. Ricky and Shiloh feel too real at some points and even though we had scripts Josh and Gus never followed through".

Finally, August and Joshua were possibly seen at the Santa Monica Pier in California (mind you while doing press tours for HSMTMTS) in the middle of the night and were apparently spotted holding hands and possibly, maybe kissing, but hey, that's all Twitter speculation.
