AUGUST STOOD in her kitchen and began icing the cake in a horrible manner.

"He's fifteen minutes away."

"Don't tell me that!"

It was Feel Something day. Meaning, that Josh was dropping his newest single and music video for his song Feel Something at midnight and August had sent him and Jacob away to get some "bro time" but in actuality, August had been planning a small party for him at her place.

And by small, she meant small. It was going to be Josh, August, Angelina, Alana, Jacob, Olivia, and Ciara Riley Wilson.

Ciara had been typing balloons to the railing while Angelina had been looking out for the boys to return.

"They're pulling up!"

August quickly threw the piping bag in the sink. She cocked her head to the side. The words Feel Something messily dressed across the cake.

But that didn't matter to Josh as he walked in with Jacob by his side. His smile grew as August held, what she called, a mess of cake in her hands with a single candle placed on top.

It was a small party, but Josh would be forever grateful for what August had done for him.

August Gomez Is Nominated In All Top Four Grammy Awards Categories (and Then Some) with Best Friend Olivia Rodrigo

Being best friends with Olivia Rodrigo and August Gomez would be a dream and with the duo stacking up nominations for their albums SOUR and change, it's seems that nothing could stop the duo from being nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards.

Following the release of her debut album, change, earlier this year, the 19-year-old breakout star received seven nods, including the "big four" top categories: Best New Artist and Album, Song, and Record of the year. (Producer and songwriter Finneas and Olivia Rodrigo are also in the running for the top four trophies.) Take a look at her full list of nominations below:

The 2022 Grammy Awards take place on Monday, Jan. 31, airing on CBS.

TIME JUMP - JANUARY 31st, 2022

AUGUST HAD sat in her hotel room preparing for literally one of the biggest nights of her life.

Not only was she nominated for several awards, but she was asked to preform. Major, major things going on and you wouldn't believe that she almost didn't go to the awards.

She had filming for season three of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and she debated over several days if she was going to stay on set and film or go to the awards and preform.

It shouldn't have been a tough decision, but there she was... thinking.

At the end (obviously) of the day, Josh had convinced her to go but she would have to ride solo for the event.

There was no way anyone from set (other than Olivia who had been bumped down to a guest star) could come and see her preform or possibly win an award.

But that didn't mean that they were all surrounding the laptop that Tim had set up to watch the duo perform.

"Shut up! She's next!" Angelina shouted, taking her phone out as she began recording the laptop screen.

"Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the Grammy's stage, August Gomez."

August set up was simple, she had told her team that she would want her first live performance to be Birthday Cake or else she wouldn't go. They thankfully managed to get that done for her and truly understood why she would want to preform it that night in front of the faces of Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, the faces of people she had looked up to and who she enjoyed.

But back to the set up.

She had two chairs. One for her and one for her mother with a purple ribbon tied around the chair.

The background image would be the videos that her mother, along with Angel's mother took whenever her and Angelina would make a birthday cake for their mothers.

And finally, a birthday cake. It only made sense.

August stood on stage, the instrumental of her song began playing.

August sat and the small table alone, very aware of the millions of eyes on her. She placed one final candle on the cake before lighting it. She stood from her spot and sat next to the chair with the purple ribbon and began singing.

A hefty reminder that she had been watched by millions when she finally gazed out into the crowd.

Angelina watched with a small smile on her face as did the others around her. But, her and Josh had been sitting front row of the computer screen taking videos of the girl performing.

Soon enough, her song ended. August held a small smile and light tears ran down her face.

Then the next big thing... the awards. She and Olivia hadn't won Song Of The Year, losing to the talented Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, but it wasn't anything shocking to either girl.

But next was Record Of The Year and truly August wasn't paying much mind. She had been texting back and forth with Angelina and Jacob when Keith Urban stood on stage doing a basic monologue.

But she did eventually put her phone down and back on set Josh and Angelina once again surrounding the computer screen and recording the event.

"And the Grammy goes to" Keith smiled, holding a pause, "Birthday Cake, August Gomez."

The camera quickly pointed August out who held her hand over her mouth as Olivia shook her shoulders in excitement.

And as loud as she could Angelina began screaming and jumping up and down in celebration.

August made her tearful way on stage, giving Keith a side hug and taking the award in her hands.

And, to be fair, she didn't think she would win any awards that night, so she hadn't prepared a speech or anything.

"Oh, gosh." She chuckled awkwardly, "Thank you so much. This means so much to me. It's a song about my mom, who I lost and how my best friend Angelina and I make birthday cakes for her birthday every year for her. The support I've gotten from Olivia, Jacob, and my boyfriend Josh and the many, many people who have supported me is insane and I am forever thankful and grateful, so thank you."

She was a nervous wreck on that stage, but managed to her shit done. She did end up winning two other awards that night; Best Music Video and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

AUGUST HAD promised Tim that she would come back from the Grammy's and film. He insisted that she just stay off, but nothing could stop that girl from coming to set that night. She skipped the several Grammy after parties for work. She was committed to her craft.

She had returned home first to place the awards on the counter and rushed to set.

She had been in her trailer when she was scrubbing her makeup off from the event when she heard a knock and shouting on the opposite side.

She giggled and stood up, opening the door when she saw her friends standing on the other side. They turned towards her and shouted plenty of congratulations to her.

Especially Saylor Curda who August had grown close to after meeting her sometime before the release of her album.

The group praised her once more before leaving her and Josh alone.

They sat outside her trailer, both in costume for the next couple of shots and jackets covering their arms.

"What did I say!" Josh smiled, "Grammy Award winner August Gomez. I must get down on my knees and praise you or something."

"Please don't." She laughed.

Josh stood up, holding his hands out for August to take and once she did he pulled her up and kissed her gently.

"Thank you for including me in your speech."

August smiled, "Thank you for supporting me, Bassett. Don't know where I would be without you."

"Oh, you love me. I don't want to hear another joke about how down bad I am."

"That won't stop me or Angel from making fun of you and when Jacob gets here we're gonna make fun of the both of you."

August laughed and Josh playfully rolled his eyes, looping his arm with hers and guiding her to set.

Those two really felt something for each other. It was almost indescribable. They adored each other, their presence, and the fact that they were able to be a couple without keeping it a secret anymore was gold.

Those two were so adorable and in love and it was sickening... truly beautiful.

August stopped in her tracks and pulled Josh back slightly.

He held knit brows as August held his cheek in one hand and kissed him gently.

"What for?"

"I need a reason to kiss you now?"

"No, but I think we could be doing anything right now before we walk on set." He smiled, "I think we should talk about this Grammy you have. Can I hold it?"

August laughed and continued walking with Josh towards set.

A sickening, sappy, love story that ends with two people feeling something for each, something that songs could describe.
