✷      𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗝𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗡 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗦 always been a grumpy man. He cannot help the malicious tongue he holds, speaking outwards to people while withholding himself from society. The curse of the snake was passed down from generations of Wilders' men, and Benjamin was the latest disaster. It was unbelievable that Benjamin had managed to keep one best friend throughout their years ━ James Wilson. A man that doesn't deserve the corruption that is Benjamin Wilders, yet he stayed by his side for many years. Even when the pair had separate hospitals for their medical careers, they stayed in contact with each other.

Benjamin had prayed to a god he didn't believe in that James would never leave, otherwise, he would be alone. Years of being in separate countries, yet their friendship had never faltered. Until Benjamin accepted a position at Princeton━Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey. The snake slithered his way to New Jersey with nothing but boxes in his car and hoped to restart his life, attempting to remove the generational curse. The reunification of childhood best friends was impossible to ruin, and the pair fell into their regular ways as they had done in the past.

But that would be impossible because of the one and only: Gregory House, who claims that 'there can only be one best friend' in Wilson's life. From their first meeting, the pair immediately fall into their childish ways, bickering with one another, even to the point of creating pranks to torment. Benjamin had never lost a war before, and there was no way in hell that he would lose to someone like House. Even if it meant being a snake, so be it.

Of course, however, there had to be a trick when Cuddy made Benjamin a consultant part of the diagnostic team, being in the same position as Wilson. He was okay with that, but when he learnt that it meant having to work alongside House "peacefully" ━ hell was about to break loose. All it took was for them to be in the same room together to spark a rivalry. Benjamin Wilders vs Gregory House became a hot topic around the hospital; no one expected less.

No one knew about the next battle stages between Wilders and House. Benjamin and House unexpectedly shared an understanding of each other ━ without the other knowing. The snark words that the pair would exchange with each other were only fueling the sparks between each other, even if Benjamin denied it multiple times. The rivalry sparks only escalates from then on, and Benjamin Wilders truly doesn't know how to compete against a grumpy man with a façade, just like him. Benjamin can't help but slither next to House every single time, even if he supposedly hates him.

It's for the rivalry... Right?

welcome everyone to feel it still, and i am so, so excited to get this started!! for the past month or so, i have been watching house m.d and i immediately knew that it was going to become one of my interests, so hence i've started to plan this while in season one 💀 so i hope you all enjoy feel it still as much as i do :)

✶ listen, even in season one, everyone was hot, and i knew that i had to write a fic, but i wasn't sure which one to write one for first.... and then i took one look at gregory house and immediately thought of a rivals to lovers trope, and i HAD to do it━ hence, making this fic, with benjamin wilders being one of the most "i'm done with you" character ever.

✶ i just think that house simply wanted a rivals━to━lovers scenario, so he decided to start it with benjamin wilders, who simply just wanted to have a NICE reunion with his childhood best friend?? yeah, so of course house had to do that, but hey, the consequences will be good hehe!! so everyone, thank house for this!!

✶ benjamin is an angry person, and i just think that wilson is that one person who can give him the puppy eyes (we all know what i'm talking about) and benjamin just rolls his eyes and calms down, even if he wants to punch someone badly LMAO but we all know that benjamin is just secretly a big old softie, okay?? you will see this in the interactions between benjamin and wilson, because i have a lot of backstory concepts for them, seeing as they are childhood besties!!

✶ i have plans to rewrite and modernize some of the characters and even remove some things entirely, such as the house / cuddy relationship, because i felt that it was so useless in parts, and the writers definitely just wanted to put something there for the characters to be useful. i have some ideas as well, but that is what the plan will be, and i hope to even include some of my own medical cases, just to kind of make it more modern, seeing as the show did end nearly a decade ago!

✶ i literally just want to write house x benjamin scenes already omg you have no idea how fun this will be to write their relationship, because it's literally grumpy cat x grumpy cat trope as well as so many pranks on each other that wilson is just so... tired of them LMAO fr they are just competing against each other to be that #1 bestie spot of wilson when he already stated that they both are his besties <3 he can't choose let's be real

✶ i just want to write this house m.d fic as well because there are literally NONE?? like, please, write fics for the house community pls i beg of you━ like i need more content PLEASE THE SHOW ENDED A DECADE AGO I NEED MORE CONTENT!! otherwise i'm going to end up writing so many fics LMAO (that's a lie, i'm still going to do it regardless and no one can stop me)

✶ edit: yes! you may notice that as of 12/06/23, there is now a new character ━ justin henandez! he's created by the wonderful nyx, and i am so, so excited to see what's going to happen now that benjamin has to deal with "accidentally" adopting another father━son relationship within the workplace... whoopsies!
