What is it?
The Featured Author Contest allows young, up and coming authors to get a little extra exposure here on Wattpad and on my website. If you enter, you have the chance to be featured on Shay Writes Smiles for a month. This month happening to be October.

How long will I be featured if I win?
For a month. After winning, I'll do a sort of Q+A with you, and put the information up here, and on my Website, for everyone to get a chance to know you better.

How can I enter?
You must be a member of the Wattpad community, and must be following me. To enter, PLEASE include what contest you are entering - but, after that, simply comment your submission here on this chapter!

What should my submission include?
Your submission should include your name (both your username, and/or the alias you choose to potentially show), the title of your most popular book, and why you think you should be considered. For the reasons as to why you should be considered, dig a little deeper. I'm looking for dedicated authors, or dedicated fanfiction authors, who have worked hard to get to where they are today.
If I feel you deserve to be featured for the month, I will contact you directly.

Submission period?
The submission period will run for three weeks.
This submission period begins today September 1st, 2017, and will run until the last week in September.

If I've been picked, when will I know?
During that last week I'll look over the submissions, to which I will contact the winning author.
I will then reveal October's Featured Author on October 1st, 2017.

Halloween Short Stories.

Fall is in the air my friends and followers, and with that comes the spookiest time of year. For this contest, I'm taking things to a dark new place, filled with things even some nightmares can't concoct.

What is it?
In the spirit of Halloween, I'm looking to try out a new contest focused solely on scary stories. For this contest, I need your scariest work of art (new or existing), to be judged by me for a chance to be featured here on Wattpad, on my Twitter, and on my website.

Things to keep in mind:

• Themes of horror or Halloween - anything that leaves you feeling creepy...

• Your story may be of any length, preferably completed by October 10th, but I can be persuaded depending on the quality of the work.

• Keep your work appropriate (it can be scary as hell for all I'm concerned, but I would like for those entering to stay within guidelines okay-ed by Wattpad).

• Make sure your work is original! No copying someone else's work!

• Grammar is important to me, so double check your work before posting it!

• For better organization, please tag your stories with #ShaysSpokyContest - though a comment below with your name and title of your story would be much appreciated! Each participating work will be added to a reading list on my profile.

How can I enter?

To enter (again), PLEASE include which contest you are entering, and simply comment your submission on this chapter (or under the November Contests chapter depending on when you decide to enter)! Tagging your story with #ShaysSpokyContest will ensure you're found, as well!

When will I know I've won?
On October 17th, I will send out a messsage to all followers including a list of those who have made it to the final round (five stories total) to which I will then narrow those down to three winning stories. Each story will receive a winner's sicker as well as shout-outs and recognition on my profiles'.
