Chapter 6: The Attack

We wait. And wait. We keep on waiting until I am certain two hours have passed, we just leave. Knowing no one could be there and silent for that long, we leave in a fashionably order. We try to find boats, people, or any ways we could leave this island. Every step seems to be another pound in my head, I'm starting to get a severe headache and I can't process why. I haven't told the others knowing they would predict I am weak for being sick already. Ron angrily spat out, "I'm tired and hungry." Leo responded in a harsh tone, "Aren't we all?" Ron instantly backed away from the rest of the group his face showing terror. He is easily scared I presume. I turn to see what he is looking at, I see nothing. I brush it off remembering this kid is only eleven years old anyway. I see a figure dash across the green grass so quickly I'm flabbergasted I could see it to the naked eye.

Harry is the first to act out on instinct. He forcely yells, threatening the creature to immediately come out of hiding. A multicolor sheen of illuminating light appears, yet only a slither. I see the slither rapidly expand and the sheen begins to produce a creepy glow. I ponder if this is meant to attract anyone else on the island. The slither of light has now transformed into a smooth, silky opening. I can't see the island behind it, and I am suddenly broken away from my day dream. The multicolor puddle seems to move around, as if it is looking for something. It randomly stops. I look around trying to figure out why. I see the silhouette appear again, and I see it disappear behind the multicolor puddle which is currently in the shape of an oval.

I hear sloshing of some mysterious liquid. I see the multicolor puddle open, and I am shocked to see Piper walk out of it. I thought we were a team, she could have a least consulted us before making this decision that could have been the death of her. I look around to see if anyone is shocked, which they aren't they seem just as angry as I am. I keep looking around-- I freeze in place. I see Piper. I look back at the so-called-Piper who just stepped out from the multicolor liquid. I see them both. I see the new Piper who looks frightening and lost. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Piper with a look of horror, fear, and her having a difficult time believing it could be true.

So-called-Piper raises her hand to represent silence. In a robotic tone she says, "I am here through many trials and errors. I do not have much time left. I should not be here. I need to warn you before I get caught. I am from another universe and I need to tell you this island is very dangerous. You need to leave before it's too late. If you stay here they will---" That's all that could be understand. So-called-Piper begins to glitch almost. She is speaking, and it is clear she is very serious about what she is saying. Unfortunately we cannot hear her and we look around in confusion.

She keeps glitching until her legs appear to disintegrate in front of my eyes. It is confusing, because so-called-Piper isn't phased or realizing this is happening. It seems almost if a line is cutting her body off starting from her feet. This line gradually goes up until she is just a talking head, and she eventually disappears completely. The multicolor puddle randomly leaves too, differently instead of disintegrating, the puddle grows two legs and sprints away. I try to process everything that just occurred. I remember; two pipers, different universes, multicolored puddle, warning, and we shouldn't be on this island. In unison as if we knew to do so we looked at Piper, than each other, than back at unsuspecting Piper.

Only by glancing at her can we all realize she is still trying to comprehend what just happened, since it was her doppelganger from another universe. I begin to fret, commemorating that this could be a possibility. We truly could be in danger, and I am confused on what we could do to escape or fix it. I increasingly become frightened to the point where I want to grab them and make a raft with my bare hands and swim away within the subsequent minutes. I notice Harry, Ron, Mama, Papa, and Rosa stifling laughter- and none of them are doing a decent job at it either. I instantly become heated that they could dare laugh at a time with our lives at stake?? After I have never been so frightened I can't believe they could laugh. I muster my anger and present them with the death glare. It's my meanest glare and has gotten many bullies to leave me alone about my prosthetic leg.

Ron backs away with fear when he sees my face, as does Harry. Unfortunately Mama and Papa laugh louder and harder. Making me reach a level of madness I have never experienced before. Papa spoke through laughter, (similar to tried) "Do-- **laughter** yo-u-u **laughter** really **laughter** believe that?? It was s--o-o-o **laughter** fake." Piper finally is ripped away from her daydream by their obnoxious laughter. Piper says, "I don't know why you are laughing. Maybe because it wasn't you who stepped out of-- whatever that thing was. Well I know for a fact that wasn't me, I wasn't pranking you and I know we need to leave this island. Right now." Leo and I chime in, "Yes we do!" My plans were that we would all chant over and over, "Yes we do! Yes we do!" until we would all find a way to construct a boat and leave- forever. Instead, we are the only ones that care and everyone else is just staring at us as if we have lost our minds. I know I am sane, and I am surprised they don't care. It is offending me harshly.

Leo has seemed to have a temper lately, and what events follow these suspicions prove this. He walks up to Harry and screams at him. "WE NEED TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE. PIPER'S DOPPELGANGER IS SERIOUS WE ARE GOING TO DIE. ALL OF US. IF WE DON'T LEAVE RIGHT NOW WHAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?!?" They began to bicker, and it was increasing at insults until they were cursing each other out. Mama walked up to me and said, "Wow. Never thought I would live to see an 11 year old curse a 15 year old." I roll my eyes and in a harsh tone say, "Well he deserved it." Mama retorts with, "Well he is too young he needs to pick on someone his own age."

We begin to bicker to the point where I can no longer hear anyone else. It's so loud that is impossible. Everyone is screaming, fighting, hands and arms are flailing in random areas. The ruckus continues, I hear curses go on and on. I am concerned for them for a second. Time seems to stand still as I suddenly hear a sound. Everyone is frozen. No one is uttering a sound. The silence is irritating me as I long to say more to Mama. I look around, and I finally find the source of the sound. The sound was not a crash, yet a slap. I stare at Leo's red face, and a handprint on Harry's.
