evangeline woke up from her alarm clock that was set at 9:30 am. she sleepily got out of bed when suddenly she realized what day it was. it was the first day of hogwarts. they had to be at the station by 10:30 am.
angie was starting her fourth year at hogwarts. she was so excited to hang out with harry and ron again. she and hermione hung out all summer since they lived pretty close.
the girl took a brisk shower, threw on her clothes, and brushed her teeth before heading downstairs. she made her way into the kitchen where her mom was making breakfast. adrianna set a plate of pancakes down in front of her daughter and kissed her cheek.
"i can't believe you're already starting your fourth year! i'm gonna miss you baby." adrianna said, making herself and her husband each a plate of pancakes.
"it was like just yesterday you were boarding the train for the first time." spencer said as he walked into the room, ruffling angie's hair.
adrianna brought both plates to the table and set them across from each other. the adults sat down and listened to their daughter assure them that she will be ok.
"guys, i'm going to be fine. no need to worry. we go through this every year."
"we know, but terrible things have been happening since you got to hogwarts and i have a feeling it's not going to be a normal year." spencer told angie after taking a bite of his breakfast.
"it probably won't be normal, but that's what makes it interesting! trust me i'll be fine." angie said to them.
the three finished up their food and cleaned up a bit before getting ready to leave. spencer took evangeline's trunk and put it in the back of the car while angie put her shoes on. angie quickly grabbed her owl, lia, and climbed into the backseat. both of her parents sat in the front and off they went to king's cross station.
all three of them unloaded angie's luggage onto a cart and they made their way inside. evangeline was bouncing with excitement to see everyone again. they arrived at the wall between platforms 9 and 10 and angie ran through the wall to see the scarlet train that would take her to hogwarts. her parents followed not far behind.
angie walked up to the train and gave her trunk away so it would be transported in a different car. the girl turned around to face her parents.
"you can go now. i'm not alone." angie paused as she looked behind her parents. "look, there's hermione! i've got this."
"i know you do. i love you. don't forget to write." her mother said, bringing her in for a hug.
spencer took the opportunity to join their hug and really breathe for the first time since he left the house. he knew his daughter was strong and he believed in her.
angie broke the hug first and ran off to get hermione. she turned back to wave to her parents, who waved back, of course.
"hermione!" angie yelled.
"angie!" the brunette threw her arms around her best friend in a bone crushing hug. "let's go get a compartment before they all fill up. i'm sure the boys will be arriving soon."
the two friends, plus lia and crookshanks, entered the train and sat down in an empty compartment. they talked about new books they've read since they've last seen each other and muggle things that most wizarding people wouldn't know about.
soon after, harry and ron found them and slid into be compartment. angie stood up immediately and threw her arms around harry and crushing him with a hug. once she broke their hug she moved onto ron. the girl hugged him with the same about of intensity as she did harry, although ron expected it and hugged her back, unlike his best friend.
"ugh i've been dying to see you two all summer! i've missed you!" angie said. "oh! you have to tell me all about the quidditch world cup. i'm pretty upset i couldn't go but my trip to america was quite fun."
the four friends could feel the train start to move so they knew they were on their way to hogwarts.
"blimey, the cup was brilliant. ireland won, but viktor krum caught the snitch. it was unbelievable." ron told the girl excitedly.
"it wasn't all amazing though, death eaters invaded the camps and the dark mark appeared in the sky." hermione explained.
"i'm glad you're all alright." angie said.
around half way through the train ride the trolley lady came to their compartment. ron and harry went up to her and angie sat back and closed her eyes. so many thoughts went through her mind. she wished she was with her friends during the world cup because if her friends got hurt and she wasn't there to help she'd be heartbroken.
the boys came back and sat down in their seats.
"this is horrible, how can the ministry not know who conjured it. isn't there any security or?" hermione starts, putting her copy of the daily prophet down.
"loads according to dad, that's what worried them so much. happened right under their noses." ron said.
harry scratched at his scar and everyone turned to look at him.
"harry, is your scar bothering you again?" hermione asked him.
evangeline, who was sat next to harry, made him face her. she moved his hair out of his face to inspect his scar.
"i'm fine." he told the girls and angie backed away.
"you know sirius will want to hear about this. what you saw at the world cup, and the dream." hermione told him.
