28. Siblings

"Reebs?" Becca's brother's voice answered when Becca called him to come down to Midtown. Her leg was bouncing in place as she sat in Principal Morita's office. She knew that what she had done was wrong, punching Flash and breaking his nose. But that didn't mean it didn't feel satisfying to knock the bully off his high horse for once.

"H- Hi Buddy." Becca stammered, this was the first time since the fallout she was calling him, talking to him voice to voice instead of a text. Tony had given Becca control of their relationship so when she felt ready, he would be waiting.

"You okay? Do I need to blacklist people?" Tony questions, he could feel his sister's nervousness even through the phone. "Knock some teeth out?" He offers which causes his sister to laugh softly but enough to know his joke had worked in getting her to calm down.

"No, nothing like that." Becca mutters as Principal Morita watches the teenager carefully, "I need you to come down to my school? I'm in the principal's office."

"You got in trouble? How on Earth is that even possible?" Tony questions in shock, "That's my thing, don't take it."

Becca giggles but sighs as her leg won't stop bouncing, "I just.." She pauses, "I need you, Buddy." She mumbles.

"Give me fifteen minutes." Tony states curtly and hangs up.

Becca pulls her phone away from her ear then looks up slowly towards her principal, "He said he'll be here soon." She mumbles.

Tony Stark arrived to Midtown High in ten minutes. He parked his car in front of one of the school entrances and watched as students gocked at him, practically all of them never having seen him in person before as he strode into his sister's school. If his sister needed him, he would drop everything to be there for her. That's what he promised himself and her when Natasha called him the night Mary was presumed dead. The night Tony had a sister.

The genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist walked into the school as if he owned the place, and if his sister was in trouble, he might as well be the owner because he would stop at nothing to prove her innocence or justify her actions. Becca Barnes was a butterfly in a land overrun by wasps, especially now that her entire life was on display for the public to feel the need to voice their opinions on. He wore his casual clothes, his suit pants and suit jacket with a t-shirt underneath and his sneakers as well as his famous sunglasses. All heads turned to watch him walk down the hallway towards the principal's office.

The older brother chuckled at the thought of him being called to the principal's office not because of something he did like when he was in school, but because he was the guardian. The tables had indeed turned.

"What's this I hear about my sister being in trouble?" Tony states as he walks past the receptionist and into Principal Morita's office where his baby sister was sitting in a chair in front of Morita's desk.

"M- Mr. Stark, if you'd kindly take a seat we'll explain what transpired in gym class today between young Rebecca here and her fellow classmate." Morita says simply and Tony sighs and reluctantly takes a seat beside his sister.

He glanced over at her, he could feel her nerves skyrocketing the longer she sat in the office. "Let me get one thing straight, Reebs has never harmed anyone unless provoked." Tony states simply, "If you know anything, and i literally mean anything, about her life growing up you'd know that she wouldn't harm a fly."

Becca looks up at her brother who was currently defending her actions for punching Flash without even knowing that that was what she had done, "I swat them away.. but i'd never hurt a fly." She mutters softly.

Tony motions to his sister with his hands, "I rest my case." He states, "So tell me why the other student isn't in here as well?"

"Flash is being taken care of by the school nurse at the moment, Mr. Stark. Rebecca completely broke his nose upon impact with her fist." Principal Morita states calmly, but he could clearly see he wasn't going to be able to hold Becca accountable if this kept up. Harming a student was expulsion unless it was revealed to have been provoked by another student, in which both students would receive suspension.

Tony smirks but then fakes a cough to hide his amusement at his sister, "Why'd she punch him?" He asks casually, "There had to have been a reason, Mr Principal."

"He was bullying me." Becca mumbles quietly, "Flash would call me names and call my family names all the time. Claim they deserved what they were getting. That they were criminals and deserved to be locked up." She whimpers softly as she subconsciously grabs Tony's hand, shocking the older brother.

Tony had his own feud with Steve and the others but when it came down to his sister, he would put his pride aside to make sure she was happy, and right now, she was anything but happy.

"That may be true but we don't tolerate violence, Rebecca." Morita states and Tony scoffs loudly.

"So verbal abuse is okay?" The billionaire quips, "She didn't use her words because she knew it wouldn't stop." He states, then looks down at his sister, "Am i right?"

Becca nods slowly in agreement with her brother, "If Flash hadn't said those things constantly to me, I wouldn't have lashed out like I did, Principal Morita." She mumbles.

Principal Morita begins to speak but Tony takes his sunglasses off to look at the principal, "If you so much as bring up her violent past I will strip this school of its funding within the night." He states dangerously, he didn't want to use his power to help his sister, but bringing up her past was not the way to punish her. "Her past has nothing to do with what we're here to talk about, but it also has everything to do with her past."

Becca hesitates as her brother looks at her to continue his thought process, which she understood, "If Flash hadn't been bullying me because of who I am.. i wouldn't have punched him." She says and Tony nods, Becca saying exactly what he was thinking. "He called me assassin freak, he called Uncle Steve horrible names.. he would call Mama and Papa names too. He would try to egg me on to be in this very position. Why is he allowed to get away with his bullying but i'm not when i stand up for myself for once in my life?" Becca questions.

Tony can see that she's on the verge of tears for finally mustering up enough courage to stand up for herself, given punching the kid wasn't the best way to go about it, but what else could she have done. Teachers don't do anything these days and it enables the bullies to continue their verbal abuse.

"You've backed yourself into a corner, haven't you, Mr Principal?" Tony asks with a raised eyebrow, "So don't try to defend this Flash kid without doing something about his bullying habits, tormenting probably more students than just my sister." He states harshly but intentionally harsh towards the principal.

Principal Morita leans back in his chair, truly not knowing what to say in this moment. Tony was right, he had been backed into a corner in his attempts to defend Flash without realizing he had instigated the violence from Becca. He was stunned when she was brought into his office, the two were good acquaintances due to his grandfather being Jim Morita, the Howling Commando and Becca being the daughter of Bucky and Mary Barnes, niece of Steve Rogers, Captain America. And then to be told her brother was Tony Stark. The power she held because of her family alone would be enough to topple governments in the blink of an eye.

"If we're done here then can we leave?" Tony asks, "I need to take my sister out for the day before i leave for Mumbai." He states plainly, Becca's eyes widening in shock at what her brother had just said.

The principal nods in agreement, "Yes, we are. Take the rest of the school day off, Rebecca." Principal Morita says, "I'll look into Flash's behavior, and he'll be suspended if found that he's bullying other students." He states, then looks at Becca, "We don't condone violence, and i hope you won't resort to it again in the future, because if you do, i will have no choice then to expel you."

Becca hesitates, looking at her brother nervously, then looks back at her principal, "I didn't want to resort to it in the first place." She whispers, nodding in agreement with the terms, "I don't like hurting people, not at all."

"Then why did you punch Flash?" Morita asks his student curiously.

"I don't like bullies." Becca responds.

Tony chuckles softly as he and Becca stand from their chairs, "You're too much like your Uncle Capsicle sometimes, Reba." He teases and Becca flushes in embarrassment as she walks out of the office with her brother following behind her as they walk towards her locker.

"You're leaving for Mumbai?" Becca asks softly and Tony shoves his hands into his pockets.

"Only for three or so days." Tony says, "I'll still be reachable, don't worry." He promises his sister. He was the only person she could rely on like this in her times of need now. Her parents were in Wakanda but Tony didn't know that, he just knew they weren't able to look out for Becca anymore because of what had transpired with the Accords. Becca nods in understanding, feeling slightly better then before about her brother leaving. He was a very busy man, and the fact that he dropped everything to be there for her made her feel like she mattered to him. Unlike what they had experienced before. It was a good feeling.

When the two siblings reach Becca's locker, they see her boyfriend and friends standing in wait to ask how she was. Tony smiled softly at his sister's friends as he placed his sunglasses back on his face when they came up to her, the redhead of the group hugging Becca tightly.

"Are you okay?" MJ asked worriedly as Peter stared at Tony dumbfoundedly.

"Yeah, I'm okay." Becca replies to MJ quietly.

"You good, kid?" Tony asks the teenager and Peter blinks his eyes then nods.

"Becca, you know who that is right?" Ned asks his friend and she giggles as she unlocks her locker, nodding.

"I do, that's my brother." Becca responds as she grabs her books from her locker, she had to carry them due to her backpack being stolen the previous night during hers and Peter's patrol.

The three friends gape at the billionaire in front of them, "You're joking." Harry mutters in shock, "My Father's not going to believe this." He states and Tony leans against the lockers, kids walking past the group in shock but never walking up to the adult in awe and in slight fear. The students didn't know why the famous Tony Stark was in their school. But they were going to find out soon.

"How is Norman?" Tony asks, "I've been meaning to have Pep and him talk about some business." He comments, pointing at the heir to OsCorp.

Harry only can stare at the genius in front of him and nod, "Ye-Yeah, i'll mention it when he gets home from Taiwan." He mutters.

Tony nods in approval as Becca looks over at her brother, "Can we go to the Tower? Happy said he would pack some things for Mama and I that were left there." She asks and her friends look at her confused.

"You're leaving?" Peter questions, "What happened with Principal Mortia?"

"I'm suspended for the rest of the day, so Buddy's taking me." She explains softly with a small smile as Tony grabs half of her books from her arms.

"Lordie, how do you carry these without super strength." Tony gripes loudly and Becca laughs, "Do you not have a backpack?"

"Stolen on patrol." She whispers and Tony chuckles but nods in understanding, "We'll pick you a new one up then as well." The brother pauses as an idea forms quickly in his mind, "Better yet, i'll make you one, we'll go to the compound, most of my equipment is there now."

Becca looks up, smiling softly, "That's nice of you to do, but i just need a simple backpack." She tells her brother, "You don't need to build me one.."

"I'll do both then." Tony shrugs casually and Becca hesitates. Her brother notices her anxiousness and pulls her into his side, his arm wrapping around her shoulders, "I want to do this, so let me?"

Becca looks up, she didn't see the sarcastic genius he perceived himself as, right now she only saw her brother that wanted to take care of his sister because he wasn't able to do it last year. Tony still felt immense guilt over letting all the horrible things the armed forces do to their mom and his sister. He'd wake up in a cold sweat from a nightmare beside Pepper and she'd have to calm him down.

"Okay." She whispers. Tony smiles softly, pressing his lips to her temple as he ignores the looks him and Becca get from her classmates walking past them.

"I'll be in the car, come out to the front when you're done." Tony says and Becca nods before he walks off from his sister and her friends.

She then turns to her friends, "What did Liz say about a party?" Becca asks curiously and Ned bashfully smiles as Peter groans. Clearly Ned was more excited about this then Peter was.

"Well.. the thing is.. is that.. Spider-Man and Crystal are supposed to make an appearance at Liz's party tonight." Ned mutters and Becca's crystal blue eyes widen in shock.

"Ned! We can't do that!" Becca whisper shouts as she closes her locker.

"I tried to tell him that." MJ says, "But it'd be a short appearance of the two of you then you guys can just enjoy the party."

"I don't have my suit though." Becca says, "I'm not coming home right away.." She mutters, then thinks as she absentmindedly leans into Peter's embrace now that Tony was gone for the moment. They two didn't want him seeing their public displays of affection because A) he'd tease them constantly, and B) Peter was trying his best to prove he could be the superhero Tony saw him as.

"Well, you could drop your books off at the apartment and then quickly grab it." Peter suggests. Becca thinks over her boyfriend's idea before nodding in agreement.

"I'll do that then." She says with a small smile, then looks over at Peter, "Are you going to be okay with all of this?" She asks, knowing how stressed he'd be if even one of them figured out Peter was Spider-Man.

"It'll work, like MJ said, it's a brief appearance then we're back to being ourselves for the night." Peter says then smiles softly, "Besides, it'll be our first party together as a couple." He points out.

Becca flushes softly as Peter leans in and kisses her cheek slowly, "I've only been to one party in my life.. Buddy threw it after Loki's scepter was finally captured.. just before Ultron." She says, trying to keep her mind on track as Peter stands behind Becca, his arms wrapped around her hips as Peter leans his back against lockers, Becca leaning against his chest. The boyfriend trails soft kisses down her neck and onto her shoulder.

"Then we'll make the most of it." Peter mumbles, his lips pressed against Becca's shoulder, "You should go." He says reluctantly, he didn't want her to leave his arms but he knew Tony was waiting, and they both knew Tony wasn't a patient man.

"I'll meet you at the party then?" Becca asks as she leans the back of her head on Peter's shoulder.

"Yeah, just look for the four of us." Peter says, moving one of his hands to turn her face to face him, his hand resting on her jaw as their lips mold together softly, not as intimate and passionate as their impromptu make out session they had before them and May went out for dinner.

Becca smiles against Peter's lips, kissing him once more before leaving his embrace, "I love you, Benji." She tells him as she starts to walk towards the front doors of the school.

"I love you more, Fia." Peter says in reply, shifting against the lockers as he chuckles, knowing he can hear her as she exits the school.
