KYLIE

;a girl or young women who is clever at getting what she wants and does not show respect.
Comfortably seated at the chair behind my desk I look impassively into the eyes of the young employee who started working in our company not long ago. But, given how things work here, and the fact that he has made the same fault twice in one week, I should abolish him right away.
"Please Mam, it will never happen again I promise," he begs, “I really need the money.”
"Listen",” I couldn't keep my voice any more calm than this. He has been begging for nearly half an hour, “I have a meeting now and I shall go, and you, Walker, in case you haven’t heard me already, are fired. And that is the end of the matter.”
I get up, leaving him in his place; perched miserably in the seat across from me. He might get a bit too comfortable if he stayed any longer on that leather chair, and so I raise my finger to tell him get up, and he does so right away.
You might think me cruel now, I would definitely think the same if it wasn't me we were talking about.
Business is an ocean; sharks, whales, and fishes attend to it. When you're the fish, you run from everything you see. You live in constant fear and the realisation that you are the smallest and weakest of everything around you. When you are the whale, you are more confident in yourself and your work. You have a solid place in the hierarchy, and can trust that if it came to it, you would be able to hold your own. But a shark, they chase the fish and the whales for the seat meant to be theirs.
There are many more fish than sharks in this competitive ocean, but that does not make survival any easier for any of the three.
I myself, am a shark; master of the sea, king of all that goes on within it. I would like to keep this company that my mom fought for successful for as long as I am in charge, and, if all goes well enough, perhaps more so than it ever has been before.

"Would you please stop crying?!" I roll my eyes, "You‘ve got to be kidding me now, Levan! Stop it.”
"Ky, he died. Do you not get it? He’s dead" Levan replies, wiping a hand across his eyes.
Now, isn't dying common nowadays? It’s how the world works; you live, and then BAM, you die.
"It's just a rat,” I sigh, “A ratLevan, rat.”
"Don't say that! Ever! You hear me?” he raises his index finger and points at me accusingly, "ever" he repeats, voice shaky with tears. "He used to entertain me, running through that cage of his. He used to show me his teeth whenever I said something like, like-"
"When you talk about how big your dick got or some other such matter?" I finish for him.
"Yeah, exactly" he cries.
Tying my night gown, I leave him crying for his dead so-called-best-friend the rat. You see, my boyfriend had this sensitive part to him. He has a tendency to cry whenever something dies.
Who cries for a rat?!
After spending a few minutes with the dead rat, he follows after me and flops onto the duvet beside me. I ignore him and continue to tap the keys on my laptop. I have recent,y started a new project, and it needs a lot of work. He sees me, glares, then sits up on the side of the bed.
"Sleep tight,” I say without looking at him.
I hear him snort and pull the duvet up and onto his body. Within five minutes, he’s sound asleep beside me.
Sighing, I close my laptop and walk out and onto the balcony. I gaze across the night sky of New York city. How the stars shine and the high buildings reflect the moonlight. It is a true masterpiece to behold.
As always, looking at it just before bed brings me peace. It makes my dreams take me to my Disneyland, where the only difference to the actual place is that every fairy is a monster, and nothing is as charming as at first it may seem. Yet still, I adore and admire them every time.
I don’t realise how long I’ve been standing there until cold whips through my body. I breathe in and out, looking at the city for the last time that night. Only then do I move away.
Once inside, I start working on the project again and after a while of staring at the screen, I’m finally finished.
Then I guess it's time to sleep.
I end up not sleeping that much before I get up as usual with Levan still asleep, faint snores emanating from him. After kissing his forehead I head to the bathroom to take a quick shower, and then put on a slight bit of make-up. I walk to the kitchen to see what there is to eat.
Half an hour later, Levan appears, tucking his shirt whilst I get up after finishing my breakfast. I take the car key out of the locker it’s kept in, and then then put on my red high heels. I wave goodbye to Levan and head down the stairs at a prism walk. I ignore all of the good mornings the people give me all the way to the garage.
"Yeah,” I reply to the secretary telling me about a meeting in Singapore.
"It starts Monday, at 8am sharp,” she continues, "your flight will be at 1 so you get enough time to accomplish everything that needs to be done."
"Good, Amena,” I say absently, stopping at the front gate of the 'HRS Hotel' my hotel.
Exiting my vehicle, I nod at the chauffer who takes my keys and my seat. Once I head inside, I flash the employees and customers a slight smile.
The hotel I manage is rated five stars. It has forty-five floors and crystal walls which give it a rather elegant appearance. Sparks of light reflect from the chandelier up on the ceiling. It has a big lounge of twenty five rooms for VIPs, and many more are normal hotel rooms with just some extra special features.
I meet Amilea on my way to the office. She’s my friend, PA, and also my Henchman. Well, henchwoman, I suppose.
"Ky, what's with the long face this morning?” she asks, worry visible on her face. I enter my office with its black and blue walls, oak wood desk, and comfortable leather desk chair behind it. A computer sits at the end of the desk, along with a phone and some assorted files.
In the middle of the room, there are wooden chairs circling a table filled with newspapers from d/nt regions of NYC. As if this is not enough, there is also a large HD TV on the longest wall.
"You know how I hate Thursday's,” I tell her, blocking my mind from remembering my reasons, “besides, we're to fly on Monday to Singapore. There’s much to be upbeat about.
"I know, it feels gross just to go to a country to attend a meeting,” she tries convincing my already convinced self,” But, this meeting is a jackpot if it goes as planned"
"Oh, believe me it will,” I smile at her, which may have been a bit surprising for her since I’m not very well known for smiling around people. “They’ll do what I say if they know what’s good for them.”

First chapter! I was bored and didn’t come up with the words I should've put in, so pardon me if I don’t reach your expectations.
Much love,
