•••Third person P.O.V•••

So there she sat, wondering if there are any places that are like a safe place for survivors like herself, Keegan, and Tommy.

It had been a few days since they had a peaceful night. That night was out in the woods, where you can get ambushed by the walkers out of random. However, it had a lot of running space, only if you don't get cornered that is.

Emma and Keegan were walking side by side, Tommy on Emma's back.

They were being quiet and careful with their footsteps. They had no food, so they are starving. A starving Tommy is not something that is needed right now. So it would be useful to find food right about now.

Emma let out a sigh, everything had been stressful. Being the oldest of the group meant taking on a lot of responsibility.

She honestly hated how everyone has to mature way too quickly to survive this horrendous place.

She took a quick glance at Tommy, seeing if he's okay. Then, Emma took another quick glance at Keegan, who seemed fine.

The silence is a comfortable and a welcomed one. However, Emma was getting a little antsy. She had a gut feeling that something might go wrong.

"Emma?" A voice said, breaking Emma out of her thoughts. Emma blinked for a few seconds, realizing that they were in a different place. And that it was nearing night.

"Emma?" The voice called again. Who though? Emma thought. It took her a few seconds to register the voice, her ears ringing a tiny bit.

"Keegan?" Emma finally answered, but it sounded more like a question.

"Are you- Are you okay? You kinda zoned out." Keegan said, sounding somewhat meek.

"Ah. Um. I'm sorry. So so sorry. It won't happen again..." Emma said, feeling a bit embarrassed that she zoned out in front of Keegan again.

Keegan just smiled, turning away to play with Tommy. When had Tommy gotten off her back? Emma wondered.

When Keegan faced Tommy, he couldn't help but coo. Tommy was so cute! His hair was messy due to him shifting on Emma's back when he was sleepy. The tip of his tongue poked out when he concentrated on the thing in front of him.

Keegan points a finger out in front of Tommy for him to grab. Tommy looks at it for a few seconds before turning away to play with his own fingers.

Keegan felt betrayed, he thought Tommy and him had a good sibling relationship. He didn't know Tommy would turn away.

Tears started to pool out of his eyes, anime style.

Tommy's wide, curious, brown eyes moved to Keegan's form. His eyebrows slanted upwards, showing concern on his face.

Tommy pushed his hands on the ground, pushing himself off of it and on his feet. He wobbled a tiny bit but managed to still himself.

He walked towards Keegan, footsteps being ignored because Keegan's crying session drowns them out.

Tommy walked up and hugged Keegan as best he could. "No be sad, 'kay?" He said.

Keegan was surprised that Tommy had snuck up on him, a child snuck up on me... he thought.

His heart melted at what Tommy said. A smile was brought to his face.

Emma was watching from a few feet away, she was about to fo comfort Keegan before she saw Tommy starting to move.

She let the scene play out, wanting to know how it ends. Her heart practically melted at the site because of what Tommy did.

A small smile appeared on Emma's face. I wish none of this ever happened. Why can't we live in a normal world without resurrected people cannibalizing each other..?

Her smile turned into a sad one. What unknown deity cursed this hell upon us? She wondered.

She heard Keegan screech. Her head snapped towards the two children. She was worried about what she might see.

She let out a sigh of relief as she realized that they weren't in danger. It was just Tommy pulling on Keegan's hair and cheek.

Her eyes widen, that must be hurting him. She had her own fair share of Tommy pulling her hair.

She rushed over, giggling. She reached her hands and gently pried Tommy's hands off of Keegan. 

Oh, how she hopes this would never change.
