Chapter 39
Kiara woke to the sound of voices. Blinking open her eyes she saw the familiar ceiling of Suguro's inn.
"-now on, no matter what happens, I swear, you and I will be friends forever!" Sheimi said, and Kiara looked to her side to see her leaning towards Rin. "Not just forever, forever and ever! Okay?" She asked before she collapsed on her futon and placed her hands over her face.
Damn, Rin just got friendzoned. Kiara thought, managing to hold in her laughter as she watched Rin sit up and look towards Sheimi.
"Friends forever, huh?" He asked.
Kiara couldn't hold in her laugher, and it seemed like the other person in the room, Shima, couldn't either.
"Shima, Hoshino!" Rin exclaimed in pure terror.
"Sorry, dude. I can't hold in it." Shima laughed.
"W-W-what are you two doing here?" Rin asked.
"I didn't feel like going back to my folk's house. There wasn't a place to crash anywhere else. So they stuck me in here with you two love birds." Shima said.
"And I passed the fuck out." Kiara said casually.
"And you heard?" Rin asked.
"Yup. Every word." Shima answered.
"You're so loud we al heard you." A new voice, Izumo said from behind a screen.
"Izumo? And the puppet dude too? What the hell!" Rin exclaimed.
"The only ones who aren't here are Bon and Koneko. They got set up in their own rooms. Yo, you have my sympathies man, for real." He placed a hand on Rin;s shoulder, a smile creeping onto his face. "I totally feel your pain. Oh! I almost forgot. We're heading back in a couple days. Ms. Kirigakure's giving us the day off tomorrow so we can have some fun. So if you want we can do some sightseeing."
Kiara perked up at that, "Sightseeing, like, going to the towers?" She asked, failing to hide her excitement.
Shima chuckled, "Yeah. Like seeing the towers."
Kiara grinned, her eyes shining. "Fuck yeah!"

Later that night, Kiara was wondering around the inn. She didn't feel like going to bed considering she rested all day. Though the last time she wondered the halls she ended up getting chased by some of the temple men. Hopefully that didn't happen a second time.
As she walked along the halls, she felt a presence behind her and she turned to look at who was there.
"What do you want, Mephisto?" Kiara asked, her eyes narrowed.
"What, I can't see my favorite exorcist in training?" Mephisto asked, walking up to her and placing a hand on her head.
"I saw you during the fight. You were watching the entire thing go down, weren't you?" When the only response she got was a smile and she scowled. "Typical."
"You know about my allergies! I couldn't of helped, my dear! But you did excellently my dear! Who would of known you could fly!"
Kiara stepped away from him and his hand slipped from her head. "I know you're scheming something." Kiara said. "But whatever, it's not my place to worry about that— not like I could." She started walking away, lifting her hand to wave 'bye' to Mephisto. "Just don't get anyone killed."

The next day, Kiara was excitedly waiting outside of the inn, a look of pure excitement, Shima had gone off to find Konekomaru and Bon before they were left behind.
"I'm so excited!" Kiara exclaimed, her eyes shining as she looked at the map.
"Me too!" Rin exclaimed.
"You two are acting like children. Jeez, get a grip." Izumo said as she crossed her arms.
"I can't help it! I've never been out of True Cross City before and we've only really been around this inn while here! I'm going to actually get to walk along the streets of Kyoto!" Kiara exclaimed.
"Sorry for keeping you guys waiting!" Konekomaru said.
"Aw yeah!" Rin exclaimed.
"If we're gonna get a touristy, might as well start with the Golden Pavilion." Shima said.
"Honestly, Shima, what are you thinking?" Konekomaru asked. "We should start with Doji temple cuz it's closer. If we don't plan our route carefully we won't squeeze everything in. If there's anything you wanna see, tell me and I'll put it on the list."
"That's our Koneko. Always having a plan." Kiara said.
"Oh, I'd like to try some of the local sweets. Like Anmitsu and Kuzukiri!" Sheimi said.
"Shushimi and Nari Shrine. I always wanted to check it out." Izumo said.
"The Imperial Palace seems badass." Kiara said.
Rin raised his hand in the air. "Oh oh! Me! I know what I want to go see! Kyoto Tower!" Rin exclaimed.
"Why do you want to visit the tower? Kyoto has more interesting places than that."
"Agreed." Bon muttered from behind Kiara.
A look of disappointment crossed Rin's face. "Come on! I wanted to see it since before we got here."
"If Satan's kid wants to check out the tower, we better go. Don't want to get burnt." Bon joked. Though Kiara had to admit, his poker face was top tier.
"Wait, you still think I'm like that!?" Rin asked, obviously not getting the joke.
"You have a point. Your wish is our command oh son of Satan."
Kiara, somehow, managed to hold in her laughter and played along with the joke. "A lowly demon like myself exists only to serve the Son of Satan."
Rin looked from Konekomaru to Kiara, a pout on his face. "Not you guys too."
Kiara chuckled and placed a hand on Rin's shoulder. "Relax, Satan Spawn, we're just pullin' your tail. Now come on guys, we don't have all day to see the sights!"

The group traveled all aroun Kyoto, seeing Shrines, temples, and the Imperial Palace.
Kiara had stayed a bit behind her friends while walking through the Palace. She had found her way to a room that held old armor that the guards of the palace wore. As she walked around, Kiara got the feeling that something was watching her, and her gaze moved from the suit of armor to a window, where a crow was seated.
The moment Kiara locked eyes with it, it flew away. She bit her inner lip and walked over to where it had just been. With everything going on she had forgotten all about the threat of her dad. Thinking about it, his lack of contact with her made her feel as if something was going to happen. But whatever it was, she could deal with it herself. There was no need to concern her friends with something trivial as her dad.
"Hoshino, there you are." A voice said, and Kiara turned around to see Yukio standing in the doorway. "We're all regrouping at the entrance so we can all head to a nearby cafe and get something to eat."
"Oh cool. I was wondering when we were going to get some food." She said, turning her back towards the windowsill and following Yukio out towards the entrance.
Yeah. I can deal with that crow bastard myself.
