Kiara, Bon, and Rin walked through the forest, the giant mass they called the Impure King slowly getting bigger by the second. They all walked in silence, and only stopped once they reached the edge of the Impure King.

"What the hell?" Bon asked.

"It's turned into some kind of weird ass castle." Rin said.

"Crap, we better hurry or we're all screwed. Let's go."

Kiara and Rin glanced Bon before there was a rustle to Kiara's left. She turned her head and spotted a familiar two-tailed cat stadning in the branches. Rin's familiar, Kuro.

Rin! He exclaimed.

"Kuro!"

Get outta here!

"Huh?"

Don't huh me, it's too dangerous here! this mountain's possessed by a mountain demon! A really sticky one!

"A mountain demon, you mean that guy over there?" Kira asked, pointing to the Impure King. "That's the Impure King. And yeah, we know it's dangerous but we have to do something. Well, Rin has to do something."

"Wait, you can understand Kuro?" Rin asked, shock evident on his face.

"Well, yeah. I'm like 3/4 demon." Kiara said.

That's besides the point! Kuro exclaimed as he frantically shook his head. You guys are crazy! You can't deal with this! No way!

"Well someone's got to or people are gonna die!" Rin exclaimed.

Kuro let out a sigh, you big dummy. He said before he was surrounded in smoke, revealing he had turned into a much bigger, ferocious Cat Sidhe. It's not safe so I'll take you.

"Really? Aw, sweet, you're the best, Kuro!" Rin exclaimed.

Kiara grinned, "Well, Bonny, lets hop on!" She said, seeing that Bon was staring at the three of them with a confused expression. He was probably the only one there who couldn't understand what Kuro was saying.

"Huh?! On that?!" He exclaimed.

"What else would I be talking about. Now come on." Kiara hopped on and sat just behind Rin, looking down at Bon. "This is the fastest and probably safest way to get to the center!"

Bon looked at her with a slightly apprehensive look before taking a deep breath and climbing onto Kuro's back, being secured by Kuro wrapping his tail around him. Once everyone was on, they were off, speeding straight towards the Impure King,

As Kuro was moving through the trees, Kiara spotted a familiar figure laying on a couch in midair not too far away. She groaned internally as she realized Mephisto was here, and taking pleasure in watching everyone struggle to hold the Impure King Back. Behind her, Bon was screaming in fear as they soared through the air. Kiara just let out a laugh, looking a head of them as they got closer to the Impure King.

Kuro hopped onto the castle only to immediately jump back into the air, the gray mass of the impure king climbing up and chasing after them.

It attacks whenever I try to land! It might look like a castle but it's a demon all right! Kuro exclaimed.

"We must center the barrier. But I do not see a clear space to place the earth sign." Karura said from it's spot in Bon's hood.

"Even if there was, I wouldn't have the time I needed to chant the spell." Bon answered.

"Kuro! We need to find a safe spot to set up! Rin exclaimed. Keep an eye out for one!" Rin exclaimed.

Kiara looked around, trying to think of a plan as she searched. Then an idea came to her. "Guys, I have an idea. Kuro, can you get us somewhere near the middle?" She asked.

"What're you thinking?" Rin asked.

"Too long to explain!" Kiara shouted. "Now come on!"

"Alright then. Kuro, let's go!"

Right!

As they moved around the outer wall of the demon castle, trying to get closer to the middle, Kiara heard a rumbling from Rin.

"Sorry about that. But I didn't eat dinner and now I'm starving. Is it just me or does that thing look like a giant meatbun?" He asked.

"How can you be so calm when everything around us is trying to get us! I'm totally freaking out back here."

Kiara looked over her shoulder at Bon before she reached her hand back. Bon glanced at it before he reached forwards and grabbed it. Kiara gave him a small smile and squeezed his hand, "You have both me and Rin making sure you'll be okay."

Bon looked at her his eyes widening slightly as he eyes glowed for a split second before they returned back to normal. Though that wasn't the only thing he noticed. The fear that he was feeling had died down a bit, it wasn't as overwhelming.

"What... what did you do?" He asked.

Kiara tilted her head, "Just reassured you. I must be pretty good, huh?" She grinned before she turned back around and her hand slipped from his grasp. "But seriously, you're going to be fine." That was a complete lie. She had felt something within her the moment Bon's fear disappeared, it was almost like she sucked it out of him or something.

They soon got near the middle of the gray mass and Kiara took a deep breath. She grabbed a piece out of her skirt pocket and bit her thumb, smearing some blood in the summoning circle before the wound closed up.

She had to summon hm quick, and didn't have any time to come up with something clever to say so she said the first thing that came to mind. "eins zwei drei!"

Black smoke erupted from the card and Kiara's familiar zoomed towards a rock that looked to of just been covered by the Impure King. And in a flash of fire, the rot had been burned back and an open spot had been made.

"There we go! Now, let's land on that rock!"

Kuro jumped off the wall, landing on the ground. Both Bon and Kiara got off of Kuro and looked at the rot slowly climbing back onto the rock. The Onmoraki landing on the rock and looking up at Kuro.

"This is as good a place to die as any." Rin said.

"I knew it. You don't think we're gonna make it out alive either." Bon said.

"What? No, just trying to sound cool. Don't worry, and try not to shit your pants. Big guy."

Bon glared at Rin as Kiara let out a small laugh, before she took a deep breath, "Look, guys, everyone's doing what they can to keep this fucker back. There's no way any of us are going to let them down."

"Exactly what Kiara said. So get that barrier up and stop whining like a princess." Rin said.

"Who're you callin' a princess?! You wanna get you ass beat?" Bon shouted.

"Hey, just tellin it how I see it. So hitch up that skirt and get to chanting you macho princess, you."

"You son of a- I don't need you to tell me what to do!"

"Good. I'm counting on you."

Kiara glanced at Rin. Despite his efforts to act cool, she could feel the fear radiating off of him, not to mention he was trembling. Bon seemed to notice it as well.

"We can beat this, Sugero, Hoshino!" He exclaimed.

Kiara nodded, gripping her sword tighter. "You got it!" She took the opposite side Rin was at and, after having her Onmoraki surround her sword's blade with fire, started to fight back the Impure King as it kept on trying to crawl over the rock, her Onmoraki using it's flames to fight it back as well.

Behind her, Bon fell to his knees and started chanting, a soft orange glow appearing around his hands. She paused in her swinging as she watched him place his pointer finger on the ground, and flames sprouted up from the spot his finger made contact with.

"Suguro Ryuji, by your request, I shall grant your spell." Karura said, and in a bright flash of fire it turned into a magnificent flaming Phoenix and shot up into the air, a beam of light training behind it before a fire barrier was made and surrounded the entirety of the Impure King and some of the perimeter around it.

"Right on, Suguro! That's the coolest thing you've done yet!" Rin excalimed.

It's very cool, Suguro! Kuro agreed.

Kiara grinned, "I knew you had it in ya!" She exclaimed before seeing a rush of the Impure King head straight towards Rin, who seemed to of gotten distracted. "Hey, keep your eye on the prize, Spawn!" She shouted as she sliced it, causing it to burn up and recoil.

Rin took a step back, and all three of them looked up at a large, lumpy, white sphere, which had exploding sacs all over it that continuously released more and more miasma into the air.

"I hate to say it but I think we really pissed it off!" Rin shouted.

"I'll say. It looks like it'll pop and second." Bon said.

"Bet that's why the little blobs are moving faster. Come get some, ya bastards!" Rin said as he lifted his sheathed sword and whacked the oncoming white blobs.

We beat them back but they just keep coming! Kuro said as he swiped at the blobs.

As Bon and Rin talked, Kiara tried to think of a plan. Some way to keep the Impure King back as Rin moved to destroy the sac. There was one thing that she thought would work, but she didn't have much control over the ability unless she was directly making contact with the Impure King. Hell, she wasn't scared of a weird blob demon. She turned and looked at them, seeing that the Impure King was slowly starting to overtake both Rin and Kuro, she had to act fast, and so did Rin.

"Rin, you need to destroy the sac as soon as possible!"  She shouted.

"How the hell can I? You might be a demon but not even you can hold back this bastard." Rin answered.

A slow grin appeared on her face, "You have so little faith in me. That sac is about to blow, and if you don't act fast everyone here is in danger." She didn't wait for Rin to respond before she turned her back to him.

She took a deep breath and erupted into her demon form, though this time it was different than the times she's transformed before. She knew more about her heritage, who her parents were, who she was, and that influenced how she transformed.

Black scales climbed up the sides of her neck and cheeks, and feathers grew and wove in with her hair. Her pupils turned to slits and red mixed in with the gold of her eyes. Two horns surrounded by black smoke sprouted our of her forehead and two more feathers joined the one she already had on the tip of her tail. Both her ears sharpened and the edges grew black feathers. And just like always, her canines sharped and curved. Finally a pitch black smoke surrounded her figure and she stood tall, unaware of the stares she was getting from Bon and Rin.

The white blobs rushed straight towards her, and instead of slicing at it she stretched her hand towards it and let it surround it.

"Kiara/Hoshino!" Bon and Rin shouted at the same time.

Kiara shook her head and took a deep breath, letting out her Fear Inducement and watching as the blobs of the Impure King stopped moving forwards, seeming to be paralyzed in fear. "Alright, Rin! You need to get to the sac! I can't hold this forever!" She turned and looked over her shoulder. "I can only stop it from advancing, the sac will explode no matter what, and speaking about that it's about to burst so you need to get ready, Rin!"

At that moment, the sac exploded and spread miasma all within the barrier. Kiara heard Bon coughing, and she knew that he was being effected by the Miasma. She wanted to be able to do something, but she couldn't reach him.  Though before either of them could react, a second wave of miasma washed over them, and this time the Impure King was visible.

It looked like a giant, white centipede made out of blobs, and it stared down at the three of them with it's six eyes. If Kiara could feel fear, she assumed that she would be beyond terrified in this moment.

The Impure king slowly started to move towards them, causing waves of miasma to wash over them with each step it took.

"Rin! You need to do this!" She shouted as it got closer. She was slowly being drained of energy, her Onmoraki had started to dissolve into smoke. All of her concentration was being placed on keep the Impure King's blobs from overtaking the rock they were on, and that took more energy than she thought it would.

"Karura! I call for your protection!" Bon shouted, placing his other pointed finger on the ground, causing a whirlwind of fire to surround him and send the Impure King back.

"Ryuji!" Kiara shouted, seeing him slump slightly.

"I managed to drive away the Impure King. However, you have cast a double spell, and it will quickly deplete your energy.

"Suguro, you okay?!" Rin asked, running up to Bon. "What'd you do?"

"I diverted a small bit of power from the barrier to protect Ryuji. If the caster looses consciousness, all is lost. The Impure King is drawn to the energy of the living, but against fire, he is weakened. This should keep him away for the time being." Karura said.

"Great so we can-" Rin started, only to be interrupted by Bon.

"Hold on. I doubt the barrier will hold another fifteen minutes." Bon said.

"Say what? What'd you mean?"

"Dude, I'm totally wiped out here. I feel like I hit the friggin wall. I don't think I can do this much longer. I guess Koneko, Shima... couldn't get to the others yet. I hope... whatever happens... that they're okay."

"Sure they are! They gotta be!" Rin shouted, desperation leaking into his voice.

The Impure King was getting closer to them and reached forwards to grab Rin, and Kiara felt her own power draining even more than it was before. If she could move, she would try to get Rin back, but she was stuck where she was.

Kuro, on the other hand, kept forwards and managed to attack clump that had started to surround Rin, only to be covered by the white globs of maiasma and sent flying back.

"Kuro!" Rin shouted, before he turned to the Impure King, "That does it, I'm gonna- ahh!" He broke off with a shout of determination as he tried to pull his sword, from her spot, Kiara could see that he was struggling with it, and a few seconds of struggling he stopped, his fear multiplying.

"Well, this is it." Bon said. "I can hold the barrier for a bit longer, so you two need to get out while you still can."

Kiara looked from Rin to Bon ad gritted her teeth. "You dumbasses!" She shouted. "First off, we're not leaving without beating the Impure King's ass! Second off, how dare you assume I'd just up and leave you, Ryuji!"

"Don't argue with me." Bon said. "You two need to go!"

"Wait..." Rin said, "That's right! What's that thing called? Kyoto something...? Oh! Now I remember! Kyoto Tower! Dude! I want to go see it and go to the top! Can we go? Like maybe tomorrow? You're from here and I wanna see it! I read it's a tower but with a bath house in it! I so gotta see that! It's be rad if we could get everyone to go too! Thing is, it'd suck if Kyoto and the tower got destroyed. And if our friends died too, that'd suck worse. We'll win. We gotta!"

"Not gonna lie... I kinda wanna see the tower too." Kiara said, looking away from them and the clump of Impure King was in.

Bon looked taken aback, "Why... why... why the hell are you two nerding about Kyoto friggen Tower!?" Ah, it looks like he got some energy to shout. "With everything going on around us, thats the palace you pick? Hell! I grew up here and I've never been to it!"

"You're kidding!" Rin excalimed.

"Kyoto's got a ton of famous temples with historic relevance!" Bon shouted.

Kiara looked at the two, a small smile making it's way to her face. "You two need to stop needing out. Man, there's a giant demon wanting to kill all of us, and this is what we talk about?" She asked, starting to laugh. "It's almost like you two are becoming more like me."

Bon started laughing as well, and when they stopped, Bon took a breath.

"Are you okay down there?" Rin asked.

"Yeah... whatever. I give up, you win. Even though I know you're BSing, I'm up for it. Okumura, I trust you!" He removed one of his fingers from the ground, the protection spell disappearing around him and the fire barrier above them strengthening.

"I was prepared to give some kind of 'we're demons together' speech. But... I can't really top that." Kiara said, looking over at Rin with a wide grin on her face. "Go and beat the Impure King's ass."
