Chapter 13

Days past and soon it was a hot summer Sunday and Kiara was sitting hunched over a book in a small nook between two towering bookshelves in the cram school library with a few books piled beside her. Ever since the exams, the man that had appeared to her, Irajah, had been on her mind. It was like he was familiar to her somehow but she knows that she's never seen his face before. She wanted to know who he was.

"Irajah, Irajah..." she muttered, flipping through the pages of the book she was on. So far she's had no luck with finding anything about the demon. She closed the book she was reading and let out a small sigh. She was getting nowhere with this. She had already read every book she could find that could hold possible information about this demon. The most she was able to find was his name mentioned once.

When she told Mephisto about him he had visibly looked shocked, and it was obvious to Kiara that she wasn't gong to get any information out of him about the demon. Leaning back and closing her eyes, Kiara tried to think of anything she could do to figure out how she could get information. Her eyes snapped open when an idea came to mind and she jumped up, the pile of books falling to the ground, after glancing at them she figured she would deal with the mess later, for now she needed to talk to someone. She headed out of the library and went to her dorm.

Kiara ran out of her dorm and headed straight to the old boys dorm, stopping and knocking on the door. There was no answer Where is he when I need him? She thought, scratching the back of her head as she tried to think of who else she could ask.

"Ah! I know!" She exclaimed, grabbing a key from her key ring and pulling out her phone she headed to the academy.

It wasn't too long of a walk from the academy to the Boy's dorm. Standing at the door she waited until it opened and Bon stepped out.

"If you had a question you could of just asked Mr. Okumura." He said with annoyance.

"I tried, teach didn't answer. He's probably out on a mission or something. Besides, my question isn't really related to class."

"Then what do you need?"

"I want to know if you know anything about a certain demon."

"Irajah? I've heard that name before but I can't seem to remember where." Bon said. The two of them were sitting in a small co-ed common area between the boys and girls dorm buildings. "Why are you asking about him?"

"I came across him, or I guess his name not too long ago and it's been bugging me ever since." She said. "If it helps, I heard he also went by the Crow Demon of Fear."

Bon placed a hand on his chin in thought, before his eyes lit up. "Wait, I think I know where I've seen the name before." He stood up and grabbed Kiara's wrist. "Come on."

He led her into the boys dorm, through the hallways— passing a few boys on their way who gave Kiara wide eyed stares— and eventually the two of them stopped in a dorm room a bit bigger than her own dorm room. She looked to see that Shima was laying on a bed, a manga in his hands.

"Welcome back, Boooaaaahhh, Kiara! What are you doing here?" He said, a look of pure terror on his face.

"I was just dragged me up here after I asked him a question." She turned to Bon, "Anyways, where had you seen the name before?"

"I remember Mr. Neuhaus mentioning it when he was going over demons that have been sealed away." Bon said, flipping through the pages of a book he had pulled out of his bookshelf. "Ah, here it is. Irajah, most commonly known as the Crow Demon of Fear."

"The Crow Demon of Fear, huh? Well, that's the guy." Kiara said, walking up and standing besides Bon, their shoulders brushing just slightly causing Bon to tense up ever so slightly as she looked at the book.

There was a picture sketched out of the demon on one page. A man with sharp features and giant wings outstretches as crows were around him and little people with terrified faces were below him. Yep, that was him.

"It says here that he looked to rule over human kind and feed off their fear. Eventually he was sealed away by an exorcist with an Arc Knight title named... Hoshino Aliyah." Kiara read.

"It says here that she sacrificed her life in order to seal him away." Bon said. "This guy must of been one powerful demon if someone died just to seal him away."

"Yeah." Kiara muttered. He flipped the page, she saw another depiction of Irajah, though this time he was cowering under a figure, a woman with an exorcist uniform and a sword in her hands. Kiara now knew everything she needed to know. She straightened up looking at Bon with a small smile on her face. "Thanks for this, you really helped me out."

Bon looked at her, placing his hand on the back of his neck. "It was nothing, really." He shrugged.

Shima let out a laugh from where he was, "I'm sure he enjoyed being able to help you out."

"Shima, be quiet." Bon grumbled.

Kiara let out a laugh, "Well, I need to get going. I feel like by being in here I'm probably breaking a few of Meph- The director's rules." She knew she was definitely breaking one of Mephisto's rules, but honestly she couldn't of cared less. She turned to leave the room, though before she left, she paused with her hand on the door handle. She looked back and gave Bon a smile. "I owe you one for this." And then she walked out.

There was no doubt about it Irajah was her father.
