Tap!
Helen has been hearing a strange tapping noise in her attic for the past two days, but she never thought to check what it might be until today.
Tap!
She sighs. "I should probably go check that out."
She goes over to her attic in the hallway, pulling down the stairs to see what the noise is.
Each step she takes makes a creaking noise, something obvious from the way the steps have aged.
She makes it to the top step, looking into the attic to inspect what might be there.
Not seeing anything in the dusty depths, she decides to go inside the attic and investigate further.
A few boxes lay around the room, but nothing that could be making the noise Helen has been hearing.
Tap!
She jerks her head to the left where she heard the noise, but sees nothing.
"What the hell?"
With no proof of the noise she has been hearing, Helen decides to leave and call her friend. She walks back towards the stairs, but the second her foot hits the step, a large, spider-like arm wraps around Helen's waist, dragging her back into the attic.
She screams and attempts to get away, but it is useless. The door slams shut, a loud noise echoing from it as she is killed by the creature.
*********
Helen's friend, Jackie, knocks on her door. She had made plans to go out with her today, but after not answering any of her calls, Jackie was worried.
"Helen? You in there?"
She looks through the window on the door, seeing nothing of interest.
She takes out her spare key that Helen gave her, unlocking the door and going inside the house to look for her. The house looked deserted, until Jackie came across a small spider scurrying across the ground. It was small enough for her to be able to step on it, and she continued on looking for her. As she got closer to the attic, more and more spiders were showing up, and about half of her bedroom was blocked off by a web. She considered leaving, but she knew she needed to make sure Helen wasn't in this mess of a house.
"Helen?"
Tap!
She looks up at the ceiling where the noise came from, knitting her eyebrows together.
Assuming it came from the attic, she pulls down the stairs that are covered in webs and spiders. She lets out a small gasp, backing away from it and attempting to leave the house. She rushes back out into the living area, where even more spiders have materialized, making it nearly impossible to get out without touching one. She runs to the door, knocking off the spiders that were on the knob and running outside after opening it.
She never went back.
