Hitchhiking might be dangerous sometimes, but is it deadly?

Tom, a hitchhiker, never assumed he would die while hitchhiking, but that might change today.

A car drives down the road, and as Tom notices, he sticks his thumb out to alert them.

The closer it gets, the more it slows down, and eventually stops next to him.

"Need a ride?" The man in the car asks after putting his window down.

"Um, yea. You don't mind?"

"Not at all. Come on in." he opens the door for him, and Tom gets inside.

"So, where you headed?" The man asks, starting the car and getting back on the road.

"Pennsylvania," Tom answers.

"Well doesn't this work out! I'm going there too, meeting up with some family."

Tom nods. "Nice."

Bang! Bang!

"What was that?" Tom asks, turning around to inspect the noise.

"Oh, it's fine. Been happening for a while now, I've been looking for someone to fix it, no luck so far."

"Maybe I can help, I was a mechanic for three years," Tom answers.

"Well then! good thing I picked you up, eh?" He grins.

"Definitely." He laughs.

The man pulls the car over into a gas station, stopping it next to one of the gas tanks.

"Well, let's go," The man says.

They both get out of the car, and walk to the back where the banging was coming from.

Tom opens up the trunk, only to see a girl tied up with tape over her mouth. Before he can react, he is shoved into the trunk with her as the man shuts it before he can get out.

"Help! Let me out!" He shouts, but it's useless.

The man slams the trunk of the car against the gas tank multiple times, eventually killing him and the girl.
