Kai tried to move Nya along the street. he tried to pick her up but she was a lot heavier than in the hospital room. Then he tried to make her walk but she only cried. Finally Kai got really annoyed so he hit her. This only made her cry louder.
Kai heard footsteps coming round the corner and he quickly hid in the wet bin.

"Here's the girl" said a voice "The boy must have run off" Kai tried to see who was talking but their back was too him. "We'll take her with us" said Another voice "the boy is like, four. Someone will find him at some point" the footsteps walked away.

Kai was sort of glad that Nya was gone. She was a nuisance, always crying, but Kai felt she was his only companion until his parents came back. His mum had told him to look after her too.

Kai walked slowly along the street, looking through windows and seeing people inside playing. One family looked like they were playing a good game so Kai knocked on the door.

A man with brown hair and a beard opened the door. Seeing him wet, dirty and with potato peel in his hair, he could immediately tell he had no parents. He took him in and washed him before giving him a meal and a bed.
