38 Anjali's conclusion

Part 38 Anjali's conclusion

Shali Vilas

Anjali opened the door, hearing a calling bell sound. She smiled at Alexander who reciprocated it with regret as he knew the smile on her face would be vanished in a few minutes after knowing the truth about her husband.

"Please come in sir" Anjali greeted him.

Alex got inside.

"Please be seated... I will bring you something to drink" Anjali was supposed to go to the kitchen,

"No thanks Mrs. Anjali..." Alex stopped her.

Anjali sensed the difference in his calling style as he used to call her Mrs. Jha. Sitting in front of him, she was looking at him, expecting him to say why he was there.

"Ma'am you should be brave." Alex started hesitatingly.

Anjali became alert.

"Please come to the point, sir. Don't beat around the bush"

Alexander sighed.

"Your husband is the root cause of every problem, Ma'am. Because of him, only your sister left your house."

"What do you mean, sir?" The fear of Shyam being a wrongdoer literally killed her.

"He abused your sister sexually. It seems the harassment had been happening for a long. As she didn't want to break your heart, she left your house to save herself from your husband, ma'am"

"Did he tell you all this?" she choked.

"No ma'am. which man would do that? He tried to cover up his fault."

"Then how are you saying that so confidently? Only he and Khushi knew what he talked to her, right? Khushi is not here to tell us the truth. Shyamji also didn't tell the truth, then how did you know?"

"We are police, ma'am. We won't blame anyone without proof because LAW needs the proof rather than the TRUTH. We retrieved the call recording of your husband and sister... that's why we can say it confidently..."

Anjali was dumbfounded.

"According to the recording, he should have tortured her for a long ma'am. Poor your sister, don't know how she stood it. She sounds like a nice girl. I can say she loves you very much but your husband used it in his favor. He harassed her using her love as a weapon. I don't know how a man could be so heartless..."

Anjali gulped down.

"Shall... Shall I hear the audio?" Anjali asked stammering. It was clear that she was nervous like hell.

"Please don't do that ma'am. You may not tolerate it"

"That's why I am asking sir. I don't want to tolerate him for any reason. I should never think of forgiving him in my life If I heard the unknown side of him. Please run the audio sir..." she asked.

Alexander too wanted her to hear the audio. He wanted her to know the TRUE color of her husband. then only she could come to the conclusion. She might think whether her decision was right or wrong if she had not heard it. So, Alexander wanted her to be clear in her decision.

He ran the audio. Anjali was sitting, looking down. Yet, she could not hold herself from showing the expression on her face accordingly.

The biggest punishment to a woman is, to listen to such words from her husband for ANOTHER WOMAN. Unfortunately, Anjali got the punishment for the mistake of loving the wrong person.

*I came to India ONLY for you*

*I can't live without you*

*My love for your sister is only an INFATUATION*

*I will come to Delhi without your sister's disturbance... only you and me*

*My ONLY need is you. Let me touch you once*

*I'm thinking a lot about you... I will tell you everything when you are in my arms*

*Give me one chance... then you won't think of leaving me ever*

*I will give you one full day to think. I will be waiting for your reply*

Tears rolled down Anjali's cheek. A soft whimper of her told, how broken she was. Why won't she be? After all, it was her husband who cheated on her... he tried to spoil her sister's life. He was the reason Khushi left the house. Thank God, her sister was Khushi. If someone would have been in her place, she didn't know what would have happened.

"Ma'am, please make yourself up. This is why I didn't want you to hear the audio" Alexander said.

"No sir... hearing the audio is much needed one... to know who really he is. Living with a man who is not less than a snake is hell, sir..."

Alex nodded yes.

"We are going to surrender him in the court tomorrow"

"Please make sure, that man should not come out of the prison"

"The proof is very strong against him, Ma'am. He could not escape without getting punished"

"Sir, please find my sister. Don't know where is she struggling to survive"

Alex thought about Khushi who was struggling with Arnav as he knew what drama Aman and NK were performing in RM.

"Sure ma'am..."

Alex stood up.

"What about this area?"

"Area?"

"Is it safe to be alone here?"

"To date, we didn't face any problem sir"

"I think you should prefer a security to guard your house"

"I don't know about it, sir. Whom I can appoint? My own husband himself is not trustworthy then, how can I trust anyone, Sir?"

Alex felt the pain in her words.

"I can arrange a security from a well-known security sector if you want one"

Anjali thought for a while and nodded ok.

"I will send a security as much as possible"

"thank you, Sir"

Alex left the place, feeling bad for Anjali. That was the height of pain any woman could go through.

RM

Arnav was pacing in his room, thinking about Khushi helplessly. He wanted to do something regarding this. This was not to be extended. He should stop Khushi. He didn't know what made her fall for him. She was a nice girl. Breaking her heart was not his choice but he had to do that. He headed to her room. The room door was wide open. He saw her resting on the bed, closing her eyes but he was sure that she was not sleeping. He knocked on the door. Khushi opened her eyes and sat on the bed, seeing him standing at her doorstep.

Arnav walked in. Khushi got down from the bed, looking at him.

"I don't know what made you fall for me"

Khushi stood with a deep gaze on him without interfering with him.

"This is very embarrassing, Khushi. You have no idea what I went through in my life. I have no confidence in myself. I don't like to get married due to my past experience. I don't think I would be a good husband. I don't want to ruin anyone's... ( he paused for a while), especially your life. I have no doubt you are a nice girl no one could get. You should be happy in your life, Khushi. you deserve happiness. But you can't get it from me if you marry me. Marriage is a BIG commitment... it needs patience... fortitude... endurance... perseverance. I'm not up to your expectation, Khushi." he stopped and looked at her.

Khushi was looking at him and said nothing. What would we think if the girl who always voiced out her thought was silently listening to him? Did she accept his points? Was not she going to say anything?

"Just because you have the fear of falling in love with me, please don't marry NK. Marry him ONLY if you love him. As a friend, I would like to say that. Don't feel bad to be in RM. This is your house..."

He was about to go, Khushi stopped him

"One minute Arnavji..."

Arnav stood as if he expected that. He looked at Khushi, turning behind.

"When did I ask you to marry me?" She asked calmly.

Arnav was dumbfounded as he didn't expect that question from her.

"I said what I (Stressing) feel for you... it doesn't mean I'm expecting you to love me in return. You know me very well that I won't hide anything but speak openly. That's what I did. By the way, as you spoke about yourself, I would like to clarify something about it."

Arnav gulped down.

"First of all, thank you for your understanding that I'm a nice girl no one could get. I don't know what made you think about me so. It means a lot to me. The man who doesn't want to get married accepted that I'm a nice girl. That means there is something in me that attracted you right?"

Arnav blinked his eyes slowly.

"I agree marriage is a big commitment... but the whole world is committed to it only. You said you don't want to ruin my life because I deserve happiness and you want me to be happy in my life. What else other than THIS KIND OF CONCERN could make a man a good husband? And how could you decide what my happiness is? I'm happy being with you... I'm happy talking to you casually, just like we are always doing. I feel happy, looking into your eyes. Most of all, I feel so proud to be a NICE GIRL to you. It makes me happy. You said you are not up to my expectation. Know one thing Arnavji, I don't have any expectations... I never expected I would leave my home. I never expected I would become a singer. I never expected I would stay in RM. And... I never expected I would become a nice girl to the man who didn't even like to give his autograph once. I stopped expecting, Arnavji... I'm going with the flow... that's all" She said in a go.

Arnav was speechless. Here, he was trying hard to clear his stand and she used it in her favor to shake him again. He didn't know how to handle her further.

To be continued...
