Chapter Two: For How Long?

"You're stuck with me my little Feisty Fox."

I stared at Rocco in complete shock, what was he on about me being here, I was going to get out faster than anyone, right?

"I-I still think you're lying... r-right?"

Rocco giggled again, "Of course I'm not, I never lie! ...Or maybe all I do is lie. You'll never know."

"I'm getting the feeling that all you do is lie... Can I go now? What do you want from me? I can give you money," I try to bribe.

This time he snorted when he giggled, "Not as much as they're paying me, unless you have over 400 million dollars."

I winced at the large sum of money before he continued, "Are you lying, like when you were going to attack these lot with a 'knife'," Rocco snorted again waving his hands around like I did when I was trying to act fearless around the masked people, while I bowed my head in embarrassment.

"My Mommy says that lying is bad for your health," I say, finding it surprisingly easy to talk to Rocco, despite the circumstances I was in. He was like that one friend you could always find an insult for, like beef, or friendly banter as an old granny or grandpa would call it.

"Aw... and where's your Mommy now, huh?"

I bit my lip, looking down, not wanting to tell him that she died from cancer, not too long ago.

"Looks like I hit a nerve there my Feisty Fox," he snorted again, "Is it because she died because of you? And you know it's all your fault?" There was some conspiracy that Mom killed herself when she found out that she had cancer but some people think it's something to do with me. Somehow. But I am a firm believer that she would never do that to leave me like that.

My Dad left when he realised that Mom was pregnant with me, so even from the beginning I knew I was a failure. Mom didn't even tell me that that was the reason Dad left. She told me that he had died, but after all her stories didn't make sense, I decided to search it up myself, and found someone who looked exactly as how she described him. I found his FaceSpace page where he was on holiday with many young girlfriends, about eighteen.

Obviously, I decided not to search for him again, but after I confronted my Mom about it and she explained, I realized how right she was to hide it away from her. I don't really remember it. All my memories and blurry, frayed at the edges, almost like a scarf.

Rocco pulled me out of my memories, "And what happened with your Father? Left your Mother because of you?" He smirked, "Where's my Feisty Fox gone, huh?" But I still bit my lip, hard, but he continued to egg me on, "Ith my wittle Nixxie gwone?" He talked in a little child's voice.

"H-How do you know about my father?"

He shrugged, "Guesswork?" He had a mischievous glint in his eye revealing that he got it from somewhere.

"Lying is bad for your health, didn't I say it before? And either way, you said you don't lie."

"No, I said that I either don't lie at all, or I lie all the time," he smirked thinking he had won, but I wasn't going to let him that easily.

"Yes, but you also said I will never know. Guess who discovered your deepest, darkest secret that you always lie." I smirked pointing at myself.

Rocco looked surprised for a second, "Huh, I guess you pay attention."

"Well... uhm yes?"

"Right, " he said suddenly... actually very loudly... and definitely did not scare the living crap out of me...

Rocco rubbed his hands together, "Did I scare you again, my Feisty Fox? Either way we better go and meet our other contestants, I hear they're ready!"

"Other... contestants?"

"Yes! You can't be competing in a game by yourself, what's the fun in that?"

"Uhrm... Fair enough then... I just hope they're nice... I guess?"

"Well half of them have killed before, and you never know, maybe you are one of them that has killed before!"

"I have never killed and I never will, can we just get this over with?"

"What, you mean your death? Because you know that the sooner we do this, the closer you are to your sudden or painful death."

"What are you on about this time?"

"I mean that this game is more than likely going to result in your death, so good luck with that," he shrugged gripping my arm, hard.

I winced in pain following him into what looked like a hospital room, the lights were dim and it was quiet. Like, eerily dark and quiet. Rocco pushed me onto the bloodied floor where around ten people sat down crowding around him. They all looked scared apart from a few who looked like they were ready to escape.

It stank like blood and dead bodies, the air thick with tension.

"Heeelllooo everybody!"

Nobody said a word, "What a cheerful lot!" Rocco said with a huge grin, a gold tooth shining in his mouth.

"I usually find that people who have been kidnapped don't appreciate it, so if you do not mind can you let us go!" A very muscley guy at the front spoke first, spitting each word... then literally spitting on Rocco's shoes.

"Oh my gosh! Why'd you do that for?! I just got them cleaned! Security get me some shoes- NOW!"

I flinched, he must really care about his shoes.

Note to self, never do anything to Rocco's shoes.

"I bet you're just rolling around in money and you just wanna torture us teens for some porn or something," a girl examining at her perfectly manicured nails sat in the corner, voice dripping with sarcasm. She was obviously unbothered by the whole situation because she really did not give a flying ice-cream scoop about anything.

Just as she said the words, a few guys with bulletproof vests and 'SECURITY' in big letters written on their jackets ran into the room, burned Rocco's shoes and gave him some new ones.

"Thanks. Now shoo," He waved his hands around shooing them away, then giggled, "Get it shoo!" None of us said a word at his bad joke, "Look because I got new shoes and shoo-"

"We get it can we go now," the guy that spat on his shoes said.

The Security guards then bowed to him like he was royalty and rushed off.

Rocco looked like he was going to murder the boy before giving his huge grin again, "Right, now that that's sorted. Let's get down to the nitty gritty-"

"Look mate, I don't have time for this I have a 9 o'clock appointment to get my nails done," The girl with the nails said lazily.

"Yeah, neither do I because I just don't have time to be dealing with an idiot like you," the guy from before stated.

Rocco rubbed his face with his hands, "Look I don't care if you don't want to be here or if you have 9 o'clock appointments, you're staying here and that is that."

"Whatever. Imma get outtah here anyways," the muscley guy said.

"Uhrm... I-I don't k-know about y-you, b-but I w-want to go s-s-so I can see my p-parents a-again." A feeble voice came from the very back of the room.

"But where are your real parents, huh? The ones that abandoned you in a cemetery?

I winced as the girl grimaced, "T-That doesn't m-mean they d-don't l-l-love me..."

Rocco snorted, "You were abandoned in a cemetery and you still think they love you, wow. How naive."

The girl bit her lip, as if she knew that Rocco was right... It was sickening to see... but he had so much power and I couldn't save her from his grasp before he turned onto his next victim.

"How about you Ash? What about your family?"

A dark skinned boy with slightly curly hair sat in line of Rocco's attack... But he didn't say a word.

"Lost your voice have ya?"

But Ash, I presumed his name was still didn't say anything. His forest green eyes staring at nothing in particular. His muscley biceps flexing as if he was about to punch Rocco in the face.

"No worries, I'll get a word out ya if I 'ave to! But maybe not yet, I still have people to torture about their past don't I ladies and gents'!"

No one said anything.

He looked around again, "You guys are such a cheerful bunch!"

"Can we go now?" A new guy spoke up, gulping as if he was scared.

He looked as if he was wearing nothing but designer, his face scrunched up in rage.

"Well someone isn't happy!"

"If I recall correctly," the guy spoke with forced confidence, "No one wants to be here."

"I want to be here! I wanna see you guys' faces when you take your last breaths."

All of them were shocked... I guessed Rocco didn't tell them or...? Because he told me.

Basically I'm confused I have no idea what's going on.

"We're here so you can kill us?" Muscley guy asked, his jaw almost hanging open.

"Take your jaw off the floor," he laughed, "That rhymed! Did you see that, jaw, floor! Floor, jaw! Rhymes!" Rocco cleared his throat when he realized that no one was laughing with him, "Well I did say you were in a game; why not have something on the line... Something like your lives?" He shrugged.

"You can't kill me! I still have that nails appointment and I'm going to St. Lucia this month!"

Rocco ran a hand through his hair frustratedly, "What did I say about the nails!"

"You didn't say anything about my beauties," she kissed her fingernails.

"Ugh, I really don't care..."  Rocco sighed heavily, "You know what imma just introduce you to each other."

He pointed each one out saying their names:

Ash - The silent boy.

Rhys - Muscley guy who spat on Rocco's shoes; respect to him.

Kaitlyn - Nerdy girl with glasses that was on the verge of crying.

Scarlet - I think her twin is Ivy?

Ivy - I think her twin is Scarlet?

(I mean both Scarlet and Ivy look the same?)

Candice - The girl that was abandoned in a cemetery.

Vince - The boy who spoke with forced confidence.

Cassian - The girl who desperately wanted to go to her nails appointment and go to St. Lucia.

Taron - A guy in a suit who looked like he just peed himself.

(A/N Just in case you forget who they are I'll be putting this at the start of the next few chapters and updating the descriptions as we go along ^.^)

"So... uhm what happens now?" Train, the guy in the suit asked.

Rocco just shrugged, "I guess I should explain the rules before you complete the first game, but be warned, there are loopholes and obvious ways to die," before giving us his signature grin... with the obvious giggle.

A/N: I'VE CHANGED SHADOWS NAME TO TARON JUST IN CASE YOU GOT CONFUSED LMAO.
