Author's POV

There was silence in the room and it was obviously a tensed atmosphere. Two middle aged men were talking to each other while some other men were just listening to their conversation without really saying anything.

The two men were talking about a serious topic and it was totally obvious that the two were extremely angry with something that has been bothering them a lot lately.

"We should ask our share holders about it." The man wearing a grey suit said to the man who was wearing a black one.

"Yes. I think that will be good." The man wearing a black suit said as he agreed it.

The two looked at all the share holders around them who were just listening to them all this time silently. They looked at one another before one of them said,"We will take care the rest, sir. Do not worry."

The two men sighed and just then a knock was heard from outside of the office room that they were in.

"Come in." With that a young man came in who was peeking through the door for peemission to come in.

The young man came closer to the black suit man and gave him a file saying,"This mail is for you, sir."

The black suit man took the mail and signalled him to go. He called their meeting off and now he is the only remaining person in that office room.

He opened the mail which is saying......

                              For- 'Matthew Steel'

Hey! What's up? Want to know who i am? Oh, come on! You already know who this is. You might be wondering why i am sending this to you after all this time. You might be frightening thinking that i might do something bad. I might do something bad to your family. But you know what? I am kind of busy these days to go that far. Don't worry! I will fulfill what you are afraid of. I will make you suffer Mr. Matthew Steel. Just wait and watch.....

With that, Matthew scrambled the mail and threw it in the dustbin in one shot. He was boiling with anger after reading the letter from Him.

Yet, he was afraid that he really might do something bad.

He just wanted peace. Just a safe life with his family. Just peace and happiness. Is that too much to ask?

He thought to himself.

He closed his eyes leaning back on his chair. He was sweating unconditionally. So he grabbed the AC remote and higher the temperature in one go.

He closed his eyes again to feel the cold air hitting his face directly from the air cooler. Just when he was relaxing a bit, his phone buzzed showing that he got a phone call.

He checked the ID and saw that it was his wife who was calling him. He picked it up quickly and said,"Hello, honey?"

"Are you busy now?" His wife's sweet voice melted him in a mili second.

"No, i am not. Is something wrong?" He asked.

"No, its not. I just wanted to ask you something." She said.

"Sure, what is it?" He said in low but in a sweet tone.

"I...um....c..can i talk to Amy?"" She asked.

Metthew heard that and frozed in a place. He pressed his lips in a thin line before saying,"Ok...sure."

He could feel that his wife Ruth was smiling on the other side of the phone. He agaped his lips and let out a heavy sigh.

"Thank you!" With that she cut the phone call and yet again Matthew sighed leaning back on his chair while rubbing his temples.

*At Matthew Steel's house*

Ruth Steel was sitting on the couch looking at the T.V. screen trying to find something interesting to watch. She found none. So she decided to watch the news instead.

When she switched the channels and came to a news channel, her eyes stuck with one sentence shown on the channel screen.

"Robbery and serial killing in the U.S.A."

Her heart pounded against her ribs in fear. She is terrified.

Without even thinking, she grabbed her phone and searched "Amy".

But then she remembered that she is not allowed to call her daughter for "Security Purposes". So she dialled her husband's number and her heart kept pounding against her ribs.

After a minute or two, her husband picked up saying,"Hello, honey?" She kept fidgeting her fingers in order to take her husband's permission. Luckily, he gave permission and she felt happiness like there is no tomorrow. She quickly cut the phone call with her husband off and dialled her daughter's number.

It took a around 3 minutes or so for her daughter to pick up.

"Hello?"

Ruth's lips curved into a smile immidiately after hearing her precious daughter's voice. They have not talked to each other for years now as her husband did not allow them to talk for "Safety purposes".

"Hello...Amy? I am mom." Ruth said smiling widely.

On the other side, Amy and Kate were talking to each other. Kate told Amy everything about that has been happening with her lately.

After hearing everything, Amy was utterly shocked at what her best friend has been experiencing and also felt very bad that she could not help her all this time.

"Its ok, Kate. Let it all out." Kate was in urge of crying the whole time and finally let all her tears out in front of Amy as she told her to.

Amy got up from her bed and grabbed a glass of water for Kate. Kate took it and was drinking it when suddenly Amy's phone rang.

She picked the phone up from  and saw the ID.

"International number?" Amy said and Kate looked at her blankly.

Amy picked it up by saying,"Hello?"

And there was silence....... for a couple of seconds.

Amy crashed her eyebrows together thinking who could it be. Just when she about to hang up on the person that called her, she heard,"Hello, Amy? I am mom."

Amy frozed to her place. She was standing and looked like the "Lady with the lamp" statue. Totally frozen hearing her mother's voice after a very long time.

"M....mom..??" Amy said stuttering as she could not believe her own ears.

"Yes, honey. Its mom. How are you, sweetie?" Her mom asked.

"I..I..am fine, mom. Actually..Great!!" Amy said in a happy tone smiling widely and Kate's expression was 'Shocked'. She met Amy's mom when they were very little but she still remember her face and how Ruth adored her like her own daughter, Amy.

"Haha..thats very good to hear! How is everything going there, honey? How is Kate? Is she still the naughty strawberry thief?" Her mom asked again.

By then, Amy put the phone on speaker and Kate was listening to every bit of their conversation. As soon as Ruth mentioned Kate's name, her face lit up and smiled widely before wiping all her tears off.

"I am totally fine, auntie! How are you?" Kate said in a high pitched voice.

"Kate? You are there with Amy? Ah...i am totally fine, honey! How is Uni?" Ruth asked both of them.

"Its going great, auntie! We even made some new friends! We are having a sleepover at Amy's house today. They are probably on their way to here." Kate said smiling.

"Oh...thats awesome! Um...i have a question." Her mom asked sounding nervous.

"Yeah sure, mom. What is it?" Amy said.

Ruth said..........

"D.....did he come back?"
