Kiragi watched in envy as his mother brushed his father's hair.

His father soaked up all the attention from his mother...just watching them...it hurts too much.
He needed to get rid of his dad, as much as he hated it, but he couldn't imagine the look of horror on his mother's face when she sees his clothing stained with blood and a bloody knife in his hand. Not to mention the fact that his father would be dead on the floor with blood everywhere.

His head started to ache, he held his head for a while before continuing to sharpen his arrows.

You giggled as Takumi grumbled "you're pulling too hard"
You finished brushing his hair and you tied it up.

You noticed Kiragi sharpen his arrows all alone at the corner. You beckoned him over, he lit up and crawled over.

He sat on your lap while you brushed his hair.

Takumi laid down on the floor "I'm going hunting later"

Kiragi saw his chance, this was the perfect way to get rid of his dad.

"Cool!" He exclaimed happily "can I come with you? I bet I could bag another bear!"
Takumi chuckled and ruffled his son's hair which made Kiragi feel even worse.

Even smiling started hurt.

"Sure, why not?"

You grinned "get a good one!"

Kiragi excused himself to go to the restroom.

Once in the restroom he fell on the floor tears streaming out of his eyes.
Oh why? Why did it have to come to this? He loved his father too much!
His head started to ache even more.

While Takumi went to prepare his hunting gear you wondered what was taking Kiragi so long...

You slid open the door only to reveal your son on the floor crying and sobbing.

You knelt down and hugged him "are you okay? Do want to talk about it?"
He sobbed and hugged you back without answering.

You helped Kiragi clean up before seeing him and your husband off.

During the hunting trip, Kiragi debated the best way to end it off without any hard feelings...no, that was impossible.

Even now, guilt was starting to swell up in him...

His head starting throbbing really bad now.

Takumi heard a thump! Behind him.
He turned around to see what was wrong "Kiragi? Are you-oh gods!"

His son was the the ground holding his head and curled up into a ball.

"UrGH AaaAh uGhRaAah!" He cried out.

Takumi saw this weird purple aura coming out of him.

No, this was too familiar; he went the through this before as well.

His son was being possessed.

He gripped his son's shoulder "get a grip Kiragi!" He said.

Kiragi shot up and glared at him "yOu! I HaTE YoU!" Kiragi grabbed his hunting knife and prepared to stab his father with it.

Takumi was fast, he dodge to the side and grasped his son's wrist that held the knife.

"Kiragi! What are you doing!?"
"FaThER! I'll eND ThiS QuIcK! YOu KeEP stEaLIng mOtHer's atTEntIon! ShE LoVES YoU MoRE ThEN mE! GRaaAH!"

Kiragi pinned his father to the ground and raised the dagger.

"GOoD-ByE FatHeR!"

He started to bring the dagger down.

"Kiragi!"

Kiragi came to a halt and saw his mother standing there.

"As your mother! I'm telling to stop!"

You stormed over and disarmed Kiragi.

"GET OUT OF MY SON!!!"

You screamed at his ear.

Kiragi hissed; before collapsing, the purple aura faded away and a silhouette fled into the shadows.

Takumi got up and picked up his son.
You sighed and gently brushed some hair out of Kiragi's face.

"I couldn't believe...that just happened" Takumi muttered on the way back.
"True" you replied "I thought that something like that wouldn't happen to our sweet Kiragi...just because it happened to you..."
"I wish he inherited your strong heart instead of my weak one"
"Don't say that...you just have to keep your guard up"

When the two of you reached home; Takumi tucked Kiragi into his bed and left the room. Quietly sliding the door closed.

Kiragi awoke to see his mother beside him "hmm? Mother? What happened? I thought me and father were going hunting?"

You pursed your lips, it was best not to tell him "sweetie, you fell asleep while your father was preparing"

His face fell.

"But it's okay!" You added quickly "you can go out as early as you want tomorrow!"

He lit up and cheered.

—That night—

You ran towards Kiragi's room.
You slid it open to see him crying.

"Shhhh, what's wrong?"
You asked embracing him.
He hugged you back crying in your shoulder.
"I had a horrible nightmare! I was trying to kill dad!" He sobbed.

You sighed and held him close "it was all just a dream, dad is still alive; in fact, his snoring is what kept me awake" you said trying to lighten up the mood.
Kiragi snickered before wiping off his tears "you always know how to make me smile mom" he said.
You smiled at that.

"I'm your mother, of course I would know how"

Pretty sweet yeah? I think this is the best so far!
