[Takumi]

This took almost a decade to finish.
Ughhhhhhhhaaaaaa.
Takumi: clearly, she has gone mad.

Warning: tragedy ahead.

"Takumi!"

Takumi shot up with a start.
His forehead was beaded with sweat and his chest was heaving.

He wiped some sweat off his forehead.

Another nightmare.

He looked around the room.

No sign of any enemies.

He felt his wife shuffle beside him.
(Y/n) sat up groggily "Takumi? Is something wrong?" She asked moving her hair out of her face.

"I-it's fine, I'm just going to open the window, it's so hot in here"

Takumi got up and opened the window.

It was still dark.
This was a horrible time to wake up.

He was met with a cold breeze, it was refreshing to say the least.

He felt his wife walk over and hug him from behind.
She pressed her cheek against his back and sighed.

"If you have any nightmares; don't be afraid to tell me"

At that point Takumi wondered why the nightmares hasn't stopped yet.

The cool air blew in making his hair fly all over the place.

Why?

Why hasn't it stopped yet?

He married the woman he loved, had 2 children, and Hoshido and Nohr were now at peace.

He had nothing to worry about anymore.

(Y/n) put her hand on his back "Takumi...if you want I can leave you alone-..."
"No, please stay here, just a little longer"

She smiled at his response and rested her chin on his shoulder.

After a while, Takumi rubbed his eyes and yawned.

You chuckled "it's gonna be a big day tomorrow, we'd better get some rest"
Takumi nodded and took in the cold wind once more before collapsing on the bed.

You laid down next to him and gently brushed away a few strands of hair from his face.
You kissed his forehead.
"Sweet dreams Love"

—Next Morning—

"Why is it so dark in Nohr?"
Takumi grumbled.

Somehow, you managed to convince him to come with you to visit your Nohrian family.

Takumi's eyes squinted as he tried to adjust to the darkness of Nohr apposed to the brightness of Hoshido.

"Well, I don't really know" you replied "I grew up here so my eyes are adjusted to the darkness here"
"Good for you" Takumi grunted in reply.

They were still a little far from the capital and they were surrounded by trees on both sides. It was best to keep their guard up.

Takumi's sharp hearing alerted him that something was approaching from the left side.

Takumi aimed his bow which signaled you to take out Yato.

Out came hoards of faceless.

"T-they must be leftovers from the war!" You exclaimed holding up Yato in defense.

More groans were heard from the right side.
"There's more!? Not again!" Takumi said wondering which way he should aim his Fujin Yumi.

The battle started out okay, they took out almost all of them together then split to take the last ones individually.

Takumi finally finished his side
"(Y/n)? Are you done?"
He turned to face you but his eyes widened at what he saw.

The faceless was about to hit her but she dodged out of the way; instead the faceless hit an explosive crystal and the area exploded.

"Takumi!"

Takumi shut his eyes and braced himself for the impact, it made him stagger.
Once the explosion had calmed down he was horrified with what he saw.

His wife was there but lifeless.

Takumi knew it, life was out to get him. He suffered through so much, he still gets nightmares, and now his wife is dead.

What would the children say?

What would her Nohrian family say?

Takumi didn't know.

He ran over to her dead body with tears started streaming out from his eyes.

He should've known. He had a nightmare about it, so why didn't he stop her?

He mournfully cradled you body before picking up your corpse and carried you towards the capital.

Elise happened to be chatting with some of the citizens when she saw Takumi walking this way with (y/n) in his arms and a mournful look on his face.

Her sister...what happened...?

A quiet whisper left her mouth.

"Big sis...?"

Things came and went.
The royal family of Nohr wept over (y/n). They gave her a royal funereal.
And she was buried in the place she grew up in.

Even after what happened, his family-in-law still welcomed him into their home.

Takumi couldn't help but blame and hate himself.

(See what I did there? Oh wait, I'm breaking the mood)

He walked towards his wife's room hoping to have a quiet time to reminiscence.

He opened the door and saw the least unexpected person to be sitting there.

Leo was sitting on (y/n)'s bed; competing with himself in chess.

Takumi didn't want to argue right  now. He muttered a 'sorry' before leaving.

After that run in, Takumi left for
(y/n)'s room again. This time; nobody was there.

Takumi walked around the room a couple of times.

It had been turned into a memorial room for (y/n). All her articles of clothing were kept in their original places and where they should be. Her toys were kept neatly in a toy box and her big toys (like that rocking horse Takumi is quite fond of) were placed around the room.
Pictures of her were hung all over the room.
Her bed was neatly made but it was sad somehow. Like it was waiting for a master that would never return.

He found himself rummaging through (y/n)'s drawers and toy boxes. He held up a small black dress that was probably meant for a six or seven year old.
He folded it neatly and returned it.

He glanced tiredly at the bed.

He hasn't been getting much sleep lately. This death was just too much for him.
He even planed on, gods forbid, killing himself just to be with his wife again but rethought his decision once he thought of the kids.

He heard someone open the door; it was Leo.

He held a chess board and a small box which was probably full of the pieces used to play the game.

"Care to play?"

Takumi didn't answer, he turned his head and just stared at the drawers.

Despite not receiving an answer; Leo began to set up this Nohrian version of Shogi.

Finally, Takumi broke.

He fell on the ground sobbing.

He didn't care if Leo saw him, he just needed to release some tears.

Why?

What did he do to get fate to hate him so much?

Was it that time he lied to his mother about stealing her hair brush?

Maybe that time he lied to his wife that he bagged the huge bear when it was really Kiragi trying boost his confidence?

Before he knew it; Takumi was recalling every single time he had done something wrong.
It was too much.

A hand rested itself on his shoulder.

He looked up and saw the second prince of Nohr.
In his eyes were sadness and the look that he could relate.
But there was pity too.

Takumi hated pity.

"What do you want?" Takumi asked wiping his eyes.
"Care for a game of chess?"
"Can't you see I'm busy mourning over my wife!?"
"Chess might help take your mind off it. (Y/n) would want you to keep moving forward"
"But-"
"So stop crying you big baby! Who are you!? A baby crying for his mama!? Man up Takumi. We're the two younger brothers that carry the world when nobody could!"

Takumi couldn't help but crack a smile.

"I guess you're right...for once" Takumi replied feeling better after Leo's 'comforting.'
"Good" Leo replied "now are you gonna play chess or not?"

Done! Finally! Part two will be under the name 'Kiragi.'
Takumi: you're too cruel.
Me: of course! I'm good at this stuff!
Takumi: you're birthday is coming closer and closer, how old will you be?
Me: I'll tell everyone once I publish my birthday gift to myself there but just a hint; in Japan I'll be old enough to *ahem* have sexual activity.
Takumi: ...are you implying something?
Me: no, what are you? Dirty minded? It's a true fact.
Takumi: right...
