Chapter Seven: A Letter with Loose Laces *Madoka*

"Dukun! Wait up!"

The aforementioned guy blinked, turning around with the rest of us as we saw Ranto and Kuuka/Saki running our way.

"Ah, Ranto, what's up?" he greeted. "Saki too."

"W-We found something in the dining room," Kuuka stammered. "S-Something onimous and s-scary."

Ranto gripped her hand, but nodded, "She's telling the truth. We've been told to gather everyone to see it."

"That's an idea. We can gather other clues from the others while we're at it," FC Keisuke spoke up.

"B-But would they want to be interrogated?" I nervously shot back. "W-What if they get mad?"

"They won't, Madoka. I'm sure of it," Tecna gave me a smile. "We're all fighting to save the people we love and care for. So don't worry about it. We'll take it slowly too."

I found myself feeling a bit happy hearing that, "T-Thank you Tecna-nee!"

She ruffled my hair, giving me a comforting grin, "Don't worry too much, Madoka. It may take some time to get used to it, but you'll find yourself at home with us."

The others gave either a thumbs up or a small smile of their own, especially FC Choiseung, who placed his hand on my shoulder. Was this his way of comforting me? If it is, I'm grateful for it.

I'm grateful for all their support.

The journey was short, because we soon got there, where everyone was waiting for us. When I meant everyone, I meant all the people on the cruise aside from the obvious ones like Keita and the others. Ranto and Kuuka went around to meet up with their group, so it left us here.

"You made it!" Uju smiled as he jogged over, the Eco-Team right behind him. "You're okay, right?"

Welp, at least we weren't alone.

"Yeah, we are," FC Choiseung grinned. "Thanks for the concern."

"You seemed a bit out of it," a silver-haired male adjusted his glasses, sighing all the while.

"Oh he was," Conan assured. "But we got him out of it."

"That's cool!" a girl with drill pigtails smiled. "Anyway, I'm Sinae. That's Noeul, Taesan, and Suho-hwejang-nim. I think you guys are familiar with Uju, Beom, and Young."

"All too familiar, right, Uju?" the blonde, who I assumed to be Beom, smirked, while Uju blushed as red as his hair.

FC Keisuke seemed to be blushing as well, looking away in embarrassment.

FC Choiseung chuckled as he ruffled his fellow FC's head, "Alright guys, we need to go see that letter first, don't we?"

"Right!" Genki nodded with a smile.

"Let's not waste time then," Elsa spoke up. "We need to make sure to talk to FC Ayame too. She might be able to help us."

"Good idea," FC Keisuke nodded. "Yame-nee had looked a bit hesitant when Akino-san accused Choiseung-san out of nowhere. We can definitely convince her."

"That does sound logical, but we need to think of the worst too. FC Akino could be with FC Ayame," Dukun pointed out.

"Even if that's the case, we'll make them listen," Steven firmly stated.

"Yeah!" Niichan grinned.

"I'll go check on Kenji and the other Souls. Maybe they've seen something," Sachiko offered.

"We should stick together," Tecna reminded her. "We'll find Kenji on the way. For now, we focus on looking at that letter and finding more clues."

"We only have the Pentagram sword, but that could mean anything," Conan agreed. "So it'll be best to see what we can get, then form conclusions."

"Sounds good to me," FC Choiseung nodded.

FC Keisuke then put FC Choiseung's hand into his, "If he gets mad at you again, I'll get mad at him again, so don't you worry."

The other looked at him, a thankful smile on his face, "Thanks Keisuke."

"No worries. Just...." he blushed slightly. "Just don't tell Neechan or Junko-nee about my... erm... attraction. They'll have a field day."

"Field day's a bit of an exaggeration..." I sweatdropped.

"It's still true," FC Choiseung chuckled quietly. "You haven't met them for real if you think that way."

"They can't be as bad as my moms," Steven shook his head.

"Iya iya iya, you clearly haven't met them if that's the case," FC Keisuke laughed.

"We'll go with you too then," Noeul declared. "We do need to see that letter too. We want to help as much as we can."

"Sounds like a plan to me," Niichan shrugged. "Come on then. Let's go."

It took a while, especially since it was very crowded, but we soon made it to the main stage, where just a few hours earlier, it had been the center of happiness. Now it was just tension and worry that filled it.

"Ah, Chan-nii, Ben-nii, Kenji, Sarah-chan, and FCYame-nee!" Sachiko greeted them cheerfully.

"Oof, this is unexpected," Conan mused. "You guys are here."

"What's that supposed to mean?" a black-haired female frowned, crossing her arms at us.

"Sarah, don't say that," Ben-nii chided her softly.

"Oh, so this is Sarah, huh?" Niichan grinned. "Nice to meet you then. Amami Rantaro des."

"Sarah Bellum," she shortly replied. "What's wrong with you guys? Whatcha doing here?"

"We're here to see the letter that was left here, if it's okay," Genki answered.

"You need to see this?" Chan held out a piece of paper. "It's kinda scary, so don't take it too seriously. I think Seokmin-hyung and Seungkwan-hyung lost their minds with this."

Tecna took it from the Korean idol, and we all huddled over, ignoring the curse words that seemed to float out of Sarah's mouth as she and Ben had an argument, with Chan's face looking so done. Clearly, this was a very very normal thing. Poor guy. FCSuke, on the other hand, had floated to FCYame while Sachiko had done the same for Kenji. Sinae headed for Sarah, and the two of them got to talking to help her calm down from the amount of curse words.

"Read it out," Genki urged quietly.

"We're nervous here," Uju waved his hands around.

"I thought you were just getting better after being around FCSuke for too long," Young teased, causing more blushing and fretting.

"Guys...." Dukun facepalmed. "Focus, please."

"A-Ah, sorry," grandfather and son apologised.

"It's fine," FC Choiseung was trying to avoid looking at FCYame, it seemed, as he leaned in to look at the letter closer. "Just read it out, Tecna-san."

"Course," she nodded, and so she recited it aloud.

You thought it was over.

You thought you could get rid of us.

But comtempt lasts forever.

It will remain,

and it will swallow you.

Golden times are useless.

In the end,

the ending is pre-determined.

"O-Oh my God..." Dukun gasped, eyes wide.

"I asked Junko and she said that he felt the malice off these words. She deduced with Sayaka that this speaks of resentment like no other," Chan explained to them.

"Resentment, huh?" Niichan mused. "That doesn't narrow it down enough. There are a lot of people who may be angry at us."

"Exactly," Conan nodded.

"Can you specify who was kidnapped?" Genki asked Chan, who nodded, "Sure. You'll have to ask Aaron and Soogyum, though. Those guys did all the noting."

"Soogyum and Aaron. Got it," Tecna handed the paper back to him, but as she did, FC Choiseung's eyes seemed to land on something.

He gasped, "Wait, hold up, Tecna, can I see that paper again?"

She blinked, "Sure?"

Once it was handed to him, his smooth hands felt the paper, and his eyes widened, "Of course! How could I not have recognised it at once?!"

His voice echoed through the huge room, and every head, human, demon, mythical creature alike, swiveled over to look.

"What did you recognise?" I tilted my head at him. He was turning out to be even more confusing than I thought.

"No time to waste guys! We need to head to Cabin GA!" he spun on his heel and turned around, rushing out the door like Usain Bolt.

"Wait up!" Elsa was hot on his heels, followed by Niichan, FCSuke, FC Yame and me and the others as we tried to keep up with his pace.

Along the way, FC Akino and our Yame turned the corner and nearly bumped into FC Yame, who immediately dragged them along with us. I was right behind them, so I barely managed to hear their conversation. It went somewhat like this:

FCYame: Where were you, Kino-nii?!

Ayame: Calm down, FC me! I was talking to him about FC Choiseung!

FC Akino: Yeah, long story short, I need to apologise to him. I was way out of line.

FCYame: You can do that after we finish following him! He seems to have an idea about something!

FC Akino: That's somewhat amazing!

FCYame: Come on, Kino-nii! We both know that he's smart too!

FC Akino: I know! I need to stop looking down on him!

I blinked. Huh, so that had been the problem? He had looked down on FC Choiseung?

Well, at least he realised his faults. Hopefully, he'll work to become a better person through this.

I found a smile growing on my face. It was good that their friendship wasn't going to end all because of him.  It was a bit fishy, yes, but at least it was mending.

For now, though, we had to focus on this case.

With that, I quickened my pace. We couldn't give in now. We had to keep going! No matter what happens, we have to keep going!

To my surprise, though, we ended up turning to a room that had a sign telling everyone to stay out.

"Huh? Isn't this...?" FC Natsume blinked.

"The paper came from here," his steps slowed to a stop, and he turned around to face us, face shadowed.

"Wait, how do you know that?" Leo threw his hands into the air, looking a bit surprised.

His next words made it all click together.

"The paper... was Rau's special paper for script writing. It even has his signature at the bottom."

Kudos to mama_kurogiri for letting her OC Sarah Bellum join the SRS/TTS!
