Chapter Eleven: Clearing It Up *Rantaro*
"Everyone!"
The reactions that both our group and the prisoners gave was a bit heartwarming, especially with FC Chenhua and Choiseung, whose hugs were only restricted by the bars.
"Are you okay?! You're not hurt right?" FC Choiseung panicked until he was stopped by his dad, who smiled as he said, "I'm good, Choiseung."
"But wait, how did you find us there?" Seungcheol asked.
"Long story, but we'll explain once we get these stupid bars out of the way. Stand back, you guys. This is going to be rough," I warned.
"Alright then," Keita understood and had most of them stand back.
Genki punched the bars, but winced as he pulled it back, "No good."
"We tried every type of attack possible, yet it didn't work," Rygar drily stated.
"Even Gem magic?" Steven looked at Garnet, who nodded.
"Swords?" Aruka asked.
"No weapons here. They took our main stuff too," Chan explained.
"Dear me, everything didn't work?" Bill's eyes widened.
"Nothing worked, alright," Xukun confirmed. "We've tried it all."
"This won't be easy, then," Daisuke leaned in to check the bars.
Sarah then blinked, eyes swirling slightly as she said, "Hehhh, it looks like the clay we found, Ben."
"Huh, you have a point," the red-haired male checked it out. "But it's not squishy."
"Clay?" I turned to them.
"We found some clay in the wine cellar the first night," Ben explained. "Sarah wanted to investigate, but Duri came along and said that he would do it. I guess that's more information to clear up why he checked up on it in the middle of the might."
"Clay?... Wait, Tecna-nee what about the dust I asked you to scan?" Sachiko turned to her.
The magenta-haired fairy got her phone out, and quickly had it scanned, "Okay, I'm getting some magical mixes. Strong resistance towards physical, every type of magic, and can also work as a transporter and a disguiser."
"That matches with who I had in mind already," FC Choiseung kneeled down, checking out the lock. "It's quite new too. This definitely required knowledge of magic. A deep knowledge."
I blinked. Deep knowledge?
My eyes floated to the bars, before floating back to the captives. If I thought about it clearly, there should be something that we could use.
Click.
"That's it!" I snapped my fingers.
Everyone turned to me, but I ignored that as I went over to Uju, "Do you have your usual gun?"
"Ah yeah," he took the solar gun out.
"Alright, mind if I borrow it for a while?" I asked.
"Sure then, but I'm not too sure about how this can help us," he shrugged, handing it over to me. "How did you know about it anyway?"
"Heard it from FC Keisuke the first night here," I answered before I walked over to the bars. "Taichi-san, mind giving me some sunlight here?"
"Sure then," he held his arms through the spaces, hovering it over the solar panels as it slowly began charging.
"What are you- Wait, don't tell me!" FC Keisuke's smile showed as he joined me.
I grinned, "Occam's Razor. It may work, it may not work."
"Better than nothing I suppose," he shrugged.
But just as I was about to cut it, Tecna called out, "Wait, hold on!"
The two of us turned to her. She quickly joined us, "Don't cut in the middle. Cut it at the edge!"
"Okay then, but why?" I asked as I moved to the said corner.
"Think about it. These bars were created in a hurry. Who would take the time to install them bit by bit?"
It clicked for both of us at the same time.
"That is crazy good," I laughed. "Oh dear me. How did I not figure it out?"
"Wait, wait, wait, what are you talking about now?" Chanoeul cut in, question marks flying about.
"The ground here is quite unstable," I explained. "They may be strong with head-on fighting, but in general, they're actually really weak with sneak attacks."
"So basically, if it's cut off from the top, it'll fall to bits. This one here is the main source of the entire system," Tecna pointed to the one I was about to cut. Thankfully the prison was only up to my head, so I could reach it easily.
"Alright then, let's do this," I looked at the others, who nodded in agreement.
I then started Uju's gun up, and, with a quick slice, cut it off.
Almost immediately, all the bars crumbled into bits, freeing our friends and family.
"That was awesome!" I was immediately hugged by Kaede, who grinned at me as she said, "You did good, Rantaro!"
"Well, it's nothing much," I blushed slightly, which only prompted a slight chortle from Korekiyo as he came over and gave me a light kiss, "You did good, honey."
At that, my entire face flared up like a tomato in less than five seconds, "K-Korekiyo!"
I could hear the snickers that exited the others' lips, which made me blush even more than before. Was it Embarrass-Rantaro Day? It was so embarrassing for sure.
"But wait, how did you know that we were here?" FC Rau looked over to FC Choiseung, which snapped us back to attention.
"Yeah, you should explain who did this too!" Sarah demanded. "I want to beat them up!"
"Not a good idea, but I have to somewhat agree with her," Twinklnyan nodded in agreement. "Please tell us!"
"Alright, let's do a little clue revelation before that," FC Choiseung said as Conan handed him the clipboard filled with the notes we had taken from the bridge. "First of all, the clues the kidnappers were trying to hide. The bridge had scanned for information about the intruders, and found that there were two of them. One fictioner, another non-fictioner. Sachiko had mentioned to me that this was a Grimm ship, but I would have to take a guess that if we checked now, there would probably be reports of a stolen one. HS Daisuke had been suspicious of it at first, right?"
"Yeah," the crimson-eyed girl confirmed. "He had been suspicious of the person who had brought it in. He was around my height, if I remember correctly, and he was limping slightly too."
"That's the clue here. They had used this clay to mask themselves when they had come to give you the key for this cruise," he revealed. "The limp was to hide their age, which shows that they're elderly."
"The non-fictioner part was easy to figure out. There aren't a lot of people who have a grudge against us. The list of people who were taken the second time sealed the deal for both sides, though," FC Choiseung continued. "If you look at the list, you'll see that one thing was consistent in the kidnappings this time."
"Wait, really?" Soogyum quickly took it out, and scanned it, eyes widening after a while. "Wait, you're right!"
"Lizzy, Ceels, Lucy, and Kaida were taken. So were Asuto, Yuuma and Ryouhei. For the first group, it's obvious who would have a grudge against them. The other side was a bit harder, but if you look deeper, it's quite easy to figure out."
He looked at Ichihoshi Hikaru, "Who was the one who had replaced Bernard until he came back?"
Froy, Bernard, and Hikaru gasped. Mitsuru hmmed, but his fists were tight.
"The note from Rau's room was typed on a typewriter, showing that the person was old and traditional in terms of thinking. The letter itself was modern, and it showed that the old person couldn't have done it alone. It also explains how they managed to do it in such a short time," he added.
"Woah, woah, woah, this is crazy!" Jime-nii's eyes widened. "How did you even figure that out?"
"From Akino's outburst. I know him well enough to know that he was blaming me for a reason," he shrugged. "From there, the clues just kinda fell into place once we found the USB. It was probably dropped by one of them when kidnapping Anna."
The sound of a door opening up made us turn, and FC Choiseung finally nailed it all down.
"Am I wrong, Kenyu Karan, Gustav Nikolsky, in assuming that you're the masterminds and the ones who have a grudge against our group?"
"You're not wrong at all," Karan slowly clapped. "And I have to say, you solved the case quite easily. This is just the second day, after all."
