"Your face!" Taehyung laughs, pointing at a selfie he took of me eating candyfloss, my mouth was wide open and my eyes were tightly shut. "I'm keeping this as my screensaver!"
"Don't you dare!" I laugh trying to grab his phone. "I'll kill you in your sleep!"
The sun was quickly setting as we laughed at each other, it was Taehyung who realised how late it was.
"Damn," Taehyung looks at his watch. "We've been at the theme park for hours."
"And yet no one called us to ask where we were?" I ask, slightly hurt. "They care so much about us two."
"They know you're safe with me," Taehyung laughs and drapes an arm around my shoulders. "I told you you'd have fun, didn't I?"
"I didn't have fun," I lie. "You were wrong."
"Your smiles and laughter say otherwise." He throws a biscuit into his mouth. "You're such a terrible liar, Lucy."
"Fine," I groan, not wanting to admit he was right. "I had a little bit of a fun time."
"I should start calling you Liar Lucy." He laughs at his own joke whilst I hit his arm. "Ow! I give you happiness and you give me pain!"
"You knew that would piss me off," I reply, biting a piece off my candyfloss. "Stop pretending you're the victim here."
"It doesn't matter," Taehyung looks down at me, grinning. "I like it when you hit me like that.."
"You kinky bastard," I mutter under my breath, he still hears me. "I feel sorry for the girl you lose your virginity with."
"How about this?" Taehyung asks, his arm reaching out. "I get to call you Liar Lucy and you get to call me Kinky Bastard."
"You know what?" I giggle. "Deal!"
We both shake hands, grinning like a pair of idiots.
"Ay!"
We both turn to see a couple of men walking towards us, they didn't seem happy.
"V!"
"We have to run." Taehyung whispers quickly to me. "Now."
He grabs my hand and we run back down the street, Taehyung sprinting forward and me being half-dragged. I can hear the men catching up on us, I think Taehyung knows that too as he pulls me into an alleyway. Panting, he softly pushes me into a nearby bin and closes it quietly.
"Stay in there." Taehyung whispers. "Don't come out until I tell you."
Holding my breath, I hear footsteps approaching.
"V!" A familiar voice says. "Why'd you run off?"
I don't hear Taehyung answer.
"Hey!" The voice shouts. "When you're being spoken to you're supposed to answer. Didn't your mother ever learn you any manners? Oh, yes, how'd I forget? Your mum is crazy! She's in a mental ward isn't she?"
Again, Taehyung doesn't answer.
"Wasn't he with someone?" Another familiar voice asks. "Where did they go?"
"They couldn't have gone far." Another voice says. "I bet he's either told her to run of hide somewhere."
"Should we go get them?" The second voice asks. "What if they go to the police? We can't deal with them again."
"You'd like that wouldn't you?" The first voice asks Taehyung. "I'm pretty sure it was a girl you were with, is that girl pretty? Do you think after we've finished with you we should go do the same to her? I bet her screams are pretty too."
"Leave her alone." Taehyung whispers. "She has nothing to do with me."
"So it is a she?" The first voice laughs. "Do you know what your friend, Suga, did to my friend's little sister?"
Silence.
"He stabbed her, multiple times in the stomach, who'd do that to a six year old girl?" He snaps. "I think it's only fair if we do it to your new girl, isn't it? Getting stabbed in the gut is incredibly painful, I wish we had the time to make you watch her scream, but we're not quite sure where she's gone so we're going to treat you a lesson now!"
After the last word Taehyung groans, I hear multiple punches and kicks. It takes all I have to not climb out and shout at them to stop, but I know that if I do get out it will only make it worse.
"Alright," the first voice sighs. "Tell Suga this is his thank you present, tell him it doesn't come with a refund!"
I wait until I'm sure the footsteps have died away before I climb out and see Taehyung. He is curled up in a ball, his trousers are all ripped and blood is pouring out of them. His face is badly bruised and there are several cuts. I quickly run up to him and kneel down.
"What should I do?" I ask, panicking. "Should I call an ambulance?"
"No," Taehyung croaks. "Can..can you drive?"
"..no." I answer ashamed. "I never learnt."
"Call..a taxi," he coughs. "We'll go straight to our home."
"Yeah, yes, of course." I take my phone and dial a taxi. "Hello? Yes, I'd like a taxi."
Whilst ordering a taxi, all I can do is watch Taehyung bleed in pain, I have no idea what to do.
"The taxi is on its way," I hold onto his arm, he squeezes. "Are you sure you don't want to go to the hospital?"
"No," he whispers. "Jin is better than any hospital."
"Should I do something?" I ask, scared that if I do something I'll only make it worse. "Do you want me to do anything?"
"Just," Taehyung smiles up at me. "Tell me a happy memory."
"I have to admit," I sigh. "I don't have many of those."
"It doesn't matter," he smiles. "Pick any."
"Well, I used to have this puppy," I began. "My grandparents gave him to me as a birthday present, I'd wanted one for years but we had never had enough money to buy one. I was over the moon, it was the happiest day of my life. I loved it so much, looking back on it now I probably loved it too much. The thing is, in my house, things that you love will eventually be broken by my father. One night, he came home drunk. Charley, my puppy, was barking at him, it was how he welcomed people home. I was at the top of the stairs as I was woken up by the door slamming. My father took one look at Charley, picked him up and threw him onto the wall nearby, let's just say there was no hope in him being alive."
"I'm sure I said happy memory," Taehyung coughs. "But at least you tried."
"Hey-"
A loud beeping sound comes from the street, the taxi.
"I'm going to help you up, okay?" I tell him, putting my arms under his. "Now, stand up."
With many groans and winces, I manage to half- carry, half-drag Taehyung into the taxi. Shutting the door, I sigh in relief as the taxi driver drives away from the alley. Throughout the journey Taehyung doesn't say a word and neither do I, we both just stare at each other comfortably.
"We're here," the driver calls to us. "There's some guys running towards us, do you want me to drive or?"
"No," I laugh watching Jin, Namjoon and Jimin run to the car. "They're cool, thank you anyway."
"How would you like to pay?" He asks. "Card or cash?"
"One of the guys there are called Nam," I smile. "He'll pay for it."
"Lu- Tae!" Jimin opens the door. "What the hell happened?"
"Oh my god," I hear Jin from the other door. "Not only are you in a mess you've probably got this mans car all dirty."
"I think that's the least of our-" Namjoon puts his hands up in surrender as Jin stares at him. "Let's just get Tae inside first."
With the help of Jin and Jimin we lift Taehyung out of the car and we begin to carry him into the house.
"Hey!" The taxi driver shouts at Namjoon. "Come here!"
"Um," Namjoon stumbles over his words. "Hello?"
"Do you want to pay cash or card?"
"Shouldn't she pay for it?" Namjoon groans, opening his wallet. "I always get treated like a cash machine here."
"She said that Nam is paying for it."
"Who's Nam? Oh, that little-"
